I was just wondering if you have to have a member number in order to book, or is it like the AP you can just show it when you arrive??? TIA.

THey don't ask you for a member #, you just have to produce you're AAA card at check-in.

I have had both happen to me. Sometimes they want the number to book. Sometimes they just tell you to show it at check in.

So should I take a chance and try to book???? I just want to book with the cheaper rate, but I am going to get an AP when I go, but since the AP rates are not out yet, I was thinking to book with the AAA discount, then switch when the AP rate comes out...is this a good idea or what??? Was going to stay at POP, but really want to try POR-FQ this time. Any advice would be great!!!!

I just booked Pop and they did ask for my AAA number. Last year, when I booked POFQ they didn't ask for my #, nor did I need my card at check-in. I guess it just depends.

Hi! I just booked a room using my AAA card and was asked for the number. Then the CM gave me a rate and I said is that with the AAA discount? She said - Oh, I forgot to apply it! I am wondering if they just ask you for it, to see if you have one!!

I would call and give it a try and if they ask for it - tell them you don't have your card with you - or call back and get another CM! It seems to be random when they ask for the number.

The past two times I booked with Disney, they've asked for my AAA number. The most recent booking was last week and they wanted the number.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

guess I won't even try it then...don't want to be embarassed if they ask me for a number and I don't have one. Thanks for all your responses. guess i'll just cross my fingers and wait for a May code. :D

Since this thread is about AAA discounts...can I ask what the discount is? We have been AAA members for a few years now and will be staying on-site for our next wdw trip so this will be the first time we can use our membership for discount on travel, yay! We will be going during regular season and will be in either a value or moderate. If anyone can tell me what the rate would be or what the discount % would be, I'd appreciate it.

I'm checking into POP on Friday at a rate of $68/night with tax after the AAA discount. Without the discount, it would have been $85.86/night with tax.

It works out to about 20% off.

I wasn't asked for my number when I booked it, but the confirmation letter from Disney says that I'll need to show my card at check-in.

For POR I was quoted $120 standardview, and $140 waterview for May. He did not ask for my AAA number when I made the reservation, but he did say I would need to show the card at check in. (It also stated that same thing on my reservation confirmation.) If it helps, we booked the waterview room, and with tax the AAA rate came out to be $156.10 per night.
