AAA Discount

I've seen lots of people posting about getting a AAA discount that is better than the current Visa promotion. Is there a way to verify the discount before signing up with AAA?

I dont think that they will quote you without being a member. But i can tell you from years of experience.....AAA has NEVER been better than ANY discount, unless there are blackout dates on Disneys promo. The AAA room discount is only 10%. Then if you buy a package, you get the price of the AAA tickets so it saves a little there also. But with the new promo, you get room discount and ticket discount on 4 days or more, so I cant see it saving you more.

The AAA discount can range from 10-20%. We are getting a 20% AAA discount at BLT and it doesn't look like BLT is included in the Visa offer. I don't think the CM asked for our AAA number when we booked - they just said we need to show the card at check in. Depending on what resort you want, it might be worth calling Disney and asking about the AAA discount. You can book the discount directly through Disney and don't have to book through AAA for a room only ressie.

I'm on hold right now trying to find out if it's true to my case. We are going during Easter time frame and got AAA discount of 15% at BC.

We've been members for less than a year and this will be our first AAA Disney trip, but from what I can tell, it totally depends on where you want to stay, and maybe even when.

I booked our trip - a split-stay, so two separate ressies - in September with AAA discounts. We got an AoA package with tickets and then a Bay Lake Towers room only. We got 10% off BLT through AAA ($310 off) and the Visa discount today would have only been 5%. At my initial booking, I had our poor AAA agent look up 7 different options for us. The AAA discount varied among them quite a bit.

I just added AAA to our Grand Floridian club level stay for September and saved 15%... A pretty nice "back up" and savings of over $1000 if no better discounts become available later in the year :)

Cut and pasted this from one of my other posts to explain what I did. I didn't have an AAA membership but was able to confirm availability and % off prior to getting one:

After calling WDW travel and confirming AAA discount was available for my dates for studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom villas at BLT (), I quickly tried to find the best deal on getting an AAA membership ASAP!

Here is a code I found and used (AAA Texas) that might help someone else:

http://aaa.com/joinspecial

This worked for me for Texas. Got a basic new membership for $52 for a year (I did not auto-renew for next year, but if I did, could have saved another $4.50). Waived $20 new member activation fee, waived $27 fee to add an additional adult. Not sure if it works for other states, but worked for me. Then I turned around and used it to book a 2 bedroom villa at BLT for late April/early May. Got 20% off of rack rate!! So for $52 out of pocket for the AAA membership, I saved almost $1550 over the 7 nights! Awesome!

So in this case, since discounts at BLT are usually so small (5%), AAA saved us a lot more than the current Visa deal, even without discounted tix. They did require my AAA membership number to make the booking, but easy bc I enrolled in AAA online and they instantly email your temp cards with your membership number.

Has anyone used AAA discount for tickets? My local AAA (Central PA) does not sell WDW tickets anymore, but apparently the Orlando ones do. Has anyone tried to get tickets from Orlando AAA when you are out of state?
