AAA discount question---too late to apply one?

I feel like a dork :guilty: When dh booked our trip directly through Disney, we didn't even think to ask for a AAA discount :sad2: even though we have AAA membership. I have been reading where some of you have used AAA, but was wondering if is it too late to call and have a discount applied since we have already paid in full (we are going April 19) and booked a package--room, airfare, dining plan. Are there certain rooms/times that AAA discounts are available? I thought I read somewhere here that there are a limited amount of AAA discount rooms? Then again, i have read a lot lately, and it is beginning to seem like a giant blur at times, so if I ended up slurring info together I wouldn't be surprised

Also, if any of those codes (which are still a mystery to me, but sound nice, lol) come out for general use, can I apply one of those? Or are they not good on packages?

Getting excited about the thought of saving some more money, and wanna kick myself for not thinking of AAA before

I was told by a CM last night, when I called to make some reservation changes, that to get a AAA discount on a package you have to book through AAA. I was checking to see if we could apply that discount if we joined AAA. From my understanding WDW only gives the AAA discount when you're booking only a resort (not tickets and air fair). So don't feel bad that you didn't ask for the AAA discount when you booked your package with WDW since you could not have gotten a package with them at the discount. Someone else please correct me if this is not accurate.

As someone said, because you're on a package, it IS too late to apply the code. You can't do that with a package.

Normally, you could cancel the package, and book a new one with the AAA rate, but you've got a few things working against you that prevent that from happening.

1.) You've got airfare booked. That really complicates stuff. I don't know if they could rebook a package if you've got airfare included.

2.) You're within your 45 day window, so you'd be charged $100 to cancel.

If it makes you feel any better, the AAA rate isn't that impressive, and it only applies to the room portion of your package.
