AAA-can u use a relatives membership

Can I use my MIL'S membership to get a discount and can I call WDW direct for it?As we have booked April trip already.

No, the person listed on the membership needs to be present to show ID and be a guest in the reserved room (or one of the rooms if two rooms are booked). So the only way to use her membership is if she is going along on the trip.

Technically, the AAA member must be present at check-in. However, I have booked a room 4 times using the AAA discount and only once was I asked to present the card.

Might I suggest that you get your own membership. The minimum discount on a room would be 10% and if you're staying for a week or more it would pay for itself. Then after your vacation you will have all the other benefits of membership.

Almost forgot...you can buy discounted park passes through AAA.

They can change the rate to rack rate if you can't produce the card at check in.

I have never been asked for my card at check-in, but I wouldn't want that to be the one time they did ask for it . Besides, they do ask for my card number when I make the reservation and ask how my name is listed on the card and then the ressie is put in my name because I am the card holder.

Yes, they have always asked for my card number but never the name on the card. Once or twice they asked for an expiry date.

I agree, they are within their rights to charge rack rate if they want to see the card and you don't have it as stated by a PP.
