AAA and diamond parking

I called my local office and they only offer these to people that book through them. I do not know how these work but I am wondering if I can call a AAA outside Orlando where my mom lives and see if they hand these out to members. Both my mom and I are members but I am unsure if they put the members' names on them and only those members can pick them up. Anyone know?

Yes, they do put the member names on them. When you book something through AAA, they give these out as 'perks' for booking with them. They will then (to the best of my knowledge) put the member name on it, as well as the reservation dates.
There was a ton of abuse..people selling them on eBay, or just giving them to others.....which led to AAA changing the way they do things.

Ok thanks. I thought I had read on here that some offices will hand them out without a booking but I may have misunderstood.

I contacted out local AAA office and was told the passes are only given out when you make your booking with a AAA office. (I guess its an incentive to book with them.)

If you look at Ebay you will still people selling them.. they're charging about $25 and its pretty funny because it says right on the photo, not valid if sold, etc.. and here they are selling it.. some have black magic marker marks on it and am thinking that might be where their name was

I don't know if it is still the case, but last summer we got the AAA diamond pass when we bought tickets at the AAA office.

These tickets have been denied more and more frequently as of late based on reports.

I really don't know what the big deal is. The parking isn't that great.
