AAA Agent says no availability for PIN already booked- need help!!

Ok I thought that if you got a PIN you could just apply that to your ressie??? I was on the cruise and she missed applying a code for 40% off while I was gone, and now this.So what is the right answer? I rely on my Dis friends for the correct info.

She also messed up and we ended up with $25 less OBC on the ship- never AAA again.Better off by myself.

From my understanding they only have so many openings at each resort for codes so when they are gone at that resort they are gone.

the same still applies. How many days out are you could you cancel & rebook? Now the resort you have does not have any rooms with that pin but you could maybe rebook with a different resort.

It's marathon weekend nothing is available.I just spoke to Disney and they said AAA could do it as long as there are no restrictions on the PIN??? Doesn't seem to be.

I honestly believe agent did not even call.

When Disney puts out those Pin Codes they only allocate so many rooms at each resort to those offers. Same as the general public discount codes. If there is no availability with the Pin Code offer then it cannot be applied to your current reservation. Hopefully you already have the Buy 4, Get 3 Free Offer so at least you have something. In some cases the B4,G3 offer is better than the Pin Code and in other cases the Pin is better.

We booked our trip in Oct. for May 2010 w/ a personal pin code that I received via my email. When I called to book our res. at the Poly (this was only within a few days of receiving the code), the CM said he hoped it was still available. (It was!!! ) But as others have said, he said that even with personal pin codes that are ONLY for YOU, they still only block off a certain number of rooms that can be used at that rate, so if people who had also gotten personal emails w/ the same discount had booked before AAA tried and used up the number of pin discounts that were available for any particular hotel/ days, then it is true that the pin might not have been able to be applied to your already existing room...

That happened to us last December when we went...it was a bummer...

Yep, when I called after getting my PIN code, CR didn't have any more availability in wing rooms or bay lake views, so I had to take the more expensive theme park view(what a sacrifice..lol)because obviously the lower priced rooms went fast! If I can deal with the cost, I'm sure I will be glad that only theme park view was available after I get there!

When you talked to Disney did you ask them to check the availability of your pin. If it's marathon weekend, there may have NEVER been any availability.
Also, the fact that you have a specific room booked decreases the chances of availability of that specific room type with any discount.

Disney releases all discounts based on the number of empty rooms when they release the discount. Then they block off rooms for each discount that they offer.

The lower the number of a certain room type to begin with decreases the chances of an offer being released.
Ex. There's only 1 Presidential Suite at the Wilderness Lodge, even though it's really expensive, people will pay the money to stay there.

The popularity of a room type decreases the chances even more.
Ex. The Family Suites at AS-Music hardly ever are available at a discount, because people they're hard to get even before discounts are released.

Basically, if you like a room because it's different, chances are other people do as well.
Even when people cancel rooms with or without discounts, those room don't become available with a discount, they become available at Rack Rate, so the longer a discount is available the less of a chance that it will be able to be applied at all.
