~A XMAS STORY~decorations, crowds, pixies..AND A BLOODY NOSE~ACTUAL UPDATE 11/9 p190

Yeah, I would have been waiting for you at the entrance of any cave. You can shake the bridge all you want - that doesn't bother me, but I will happily not look at any of your cave pictures again! :) When I saw the very first one, I took a deep breath and just scrolled right on through quickly.

I'm glad you had fun with family, if you consider going into that underground death chamber fun!

I am not sure what would freak me out more -- being underground or having to walk across the swinging bridge (I am such a chicken at heart )! I would like to get a Rock City barn ornament though. :thumbsup2

The pics of you and Ray pretending to be Bear Grylls crack me up! :lmao:

You are so right about the fairy tale scenes being slightly creepy -- what is up with those???

Haha, Dawn...you want to know something funny? I actually did all that! B/F and his family made me! :rotfl2: I did love going across the shaky bridge and out onto Lookout Mountain to see all the states...but the cave part? Yeah, I was having a heart attack the whole time!

Dawn enjoyed this update. It brings back so many memories. I had been to Ruby Falls and Rock City as a child. When I got married 27 years ago this is where we went on our Honeymoon.Ha!! What can I say we were broke, so Disney was out of reach. I have all those same pics from our honeymoon and also when we took our kids a few years later. I agree with you about fairytale village it's kind of like a bad fairytale nightmare. It creeped me out too.

Thanks for the update and hope to hear about your trip tp Savannah. I've never been there.

You must really love that boy!

i think that is the mt. we go over when we drive to FL?

very cool, pics i hav enever stopped there before.

Very cool pics!!!!! I don't think I would like Ruby Falls, I'm claustrophobic too! But both places are beautiful! Looks like you had a great time!

I don't think I would do well in the caves either....I wish I would because it looks so pretty! My husband's brother goes in unmapped caves FOR FUN! He crawles on his belly and all of that stuff....sleeps in caves. He is a teacher so during his summers off he maps out caves for someone in the area. I get freaked out everytime he talks about it.

Oh wow! How gorgeous! I haven't been to a cave since I was in elementary school or junior high... So fun! :thumbsup2

we then went into a little area called fairy tale caverns, which of course i was all excited about. but it ended up being creepy. i don't know why but all these little scenes just looked freakish to me.

The one thing I remember is my cousin Jaime threw a coin into one of the pieces of water in there (pretty early on) and her wish was just to get her out of there and she would NEVER come back!! I will never forget that it was hilarious!! As a kid I remember liking it but I can see how it would be kind of creepy :rotfl:

It's been forever since I've been to Rock City, but I would like to go back. Mel and I are going to Chattanooga on the 10th but I'm not sure what all we will be doing.

i think that is the mt. we go over when we drive to FL?

Dan, I would assume the mountain you remember actually driving over is Monteagle Mt. (about halfway between Nashville & Chatt.) & I'm sure you have seen signs for Lookout Mt. when driving through Chattanooga. But Monteagle is much more impressive driving 'over', the interstate through Chattanooga it's self is pretty flat, with beautiful scenery around it :goodvibes. But I just LOVE east TN....that is why I MUST get out to the Rocky Mt's someday!!! :thumbsup2

Maybe those scenes were creepy because the figurines look like DEMONS...they seriously look scary. I'm with you on that one Dawn.

I love nature and God's creation! Thanks for the wonderful pix!

it didn't really swing - just sort of bounced a little bit. it's nothing like the bridge at tom sawyer island! ray and i just laugh so hard at bear grylls. he's so funny! have you seen the video of him when he gets stung by a bee? i will link it below....it's hilarious! i have no idea about the fairy tale stuff....creepy!

be sure to watch til the end...it's too funny!

cool! ray and i had a local honeymoon, too. we were supposed to go to disney (neither of us had been in over 10 years), but he got a new job about a month before we got married and didn't have a week's worth of vacation time. so we just had a long weekend in savannah (the first time we had been there and we've been going back ever since!). it was okay though - we took the money we had saved for disney and splurged on a bed and breakfast while we were there!

You must really love that boy!

erica already answered but that was monteagle. and monteagle is BEAUTIFUL to drive over. if you're heading east on I-24 on a sunny day, the drive down the mountain is just breathtaking, especially in the fall!

yeah, i enjoyed it but i definitely wouldn't go in unmapped caves! i'm too much of a worry wart.

thanks! it was really pretty.

seriously! i'm glad i'm not the only one who thought they were freakish. and you're welcome!

it's really a cool little area and is only a few minutes off the interstate right before you get to downtown chattanooga. you guys should go!

Haha, the whole time in the cave, I kept saying, "I hate you. I hate you. Why did you make me do this?" :rotfl2:

:lmao:

so we are leaving for savannah today. :woohoo: i'm SO READY for the beach!!! we both are. the jury is STILL out on that case i started almost 2 weeks ago. they've been deliberating since tuesday afternoon. but my boss is in court for me today because ray and i are going to try to leave by around 2:00 to beat atlanta traffic. oh, and believe it or not, when i get back i won't have a pile of work waiting on me! i have a few transcripts i've gotta work on but nothing pressing like i've had constantly for the last 3 months. so i can actually catch up on some of your TRs! i've missed you guys....can't wait to get back in the loop. i hope everyone has a nice weekend! :goodvibes

rock city looked so cool! I have not ever spent time down south..i think if I get to I will definitely need to stop by there some day..fun stuff! LOVED the Bear Grylls impersonations ;)
