A wonderful trip . . . with a magical ending!

Not a full blown trip report, but just had to share . . .
My family of 6 (plus a friend) just returned from a fabulous week at WDW! I could go on for hours about all the wonderful things we experienced (and I didn't think the crowds were that bad at all).

But I'm most excited about the fact that MY WIFE FINALLY GOT IT!!!!! A couple of days from the end of our trip, out of nowhere she says, "Maybe we should check out one of those Disney Vacation Club things." I nearly passed out! I've been the certified (or certifiable) Disney nut in our home forever, and she has kind of tolerated our trips here and there, but never really bought into it completely. This trip it really clicked for her!

So . . . on our last day, we popped over to the DVC Preview Center, checked things out, and are now very proud DVC owners!!!!!!!

P.S. Our next trip is in February!

Congrats and welcome home! What is your home resort and where are you staying on your first trip?

We bought 160 points at AKV, primarily for the lower cost and the developer points. It does look like it's going to be a beautiful resort, and we can't wait to stay there in the future.

Our first DVC stay will be February 23-27 at Saratoga Springs (have to stay there to use the developer points).

Wow, once the wife mentioned the slightest thing about DVC, it sounds like it took you about 20 minutes to rush her over there, cut a check, sign a contract and book your Feb stay at SSR. You did not waste any time. Good for you.

We did an add-on at AKV and just stayed there two weeks ago for a long weekend. WE LOVED IT! We also own at SSR and love it there as well so enjoy that dev points stay. Again congrats!

Funny - my husband has been the one that enjoys our trips - but didn't really get it either. (I convinced him to buy - but he was reluctant - we own 150 points at BWV - 100 point contract and 50 point contract). On our last trip to BWV (January 08), we met a family and they were asking about our DVC ownership. My DH was doing all of the explaining and telling this family with young kids how great DVC was, how much we love our trips etc and then mentioned "I am sure we will add on again..."

That was all it took for me! When we got home, I called our guide and added 50 points at AKV, then 2 weeks later, booked a AKV studio concierege room for part of our stay for January 09. I am hoping he now LOVES AKV as much as BWV so I can add on again!

First of all..... WELCOME HOME

I can totally relate. I am the NUT in our family. I dragged DW to the presentation and her being the practical one didn`t want to rush things. I told her, no problem. A couple months of showing her the plus side to ownership (okay, I wore her down ) and she gave me the green light to look at buying. Funny thing, a resale that was perfect for us just happened to appear and to make a long story short, she will get it this Jan if it kills me. I think a 2 bdrm at VWL just might be the answer.
