In my WW meeting on Saturday, our leader asked us to take stock and see if we lost weight in 2003. I have been pretty down on myself for not sticking with last year's resolution to lose weight. I had started WW in January 2003 at 199 lbs. I lost almost 30 lbs by March 2003. But, then I got the chicken pox, which developed into pneumonia. Shortly after I recovered (it took almost 6 weeks) DD got very sick. Then, we had our house fire and my miscarriage. Not making excuses, but the weight just piled back on.

So, when my leader asked about losing weight in 2003, immediately I pessimistically thought, yeah, but I put it right back on. However, it just hit me. I ended 2003 at 188.2 lbs. Yeah, I gained 20 lbs back, but still lost 10.8 lbs overall! So, taking 2003 in its totality - I was a loser! :D

Now, I'm 186.2 and back on track. Hopefully, 2004 will spare me from any major illnesses and tragedies, but even if it doesn't I know I can do this. I have WW and my friends at WISH to help me get through. Food is no longer my only friend and confidante.

Thanks for letter me share!

What a great way to look at this situation. You have a very wise WW leader. You are starting of 2004 as a success, what a great feeling that must be. Good for you!

Sounds like 2003 was a very tough year for you. I'm hoping the New Year is full of good and happy days for you.

Like Kath said to you, your attitude is fantastic despite all you have gone through. I know 2004 will be your year to reach your goal! We are all here to support one another.

I agree with Kath and Lisa! Your attitude is terrific! I think you did great to face all those difficult situations last year and still end up 10.8 pounds lighter at the end of the year!!

:wizard: abd best wishes for a great 2004 for you, but I know you won't really need them! You're already back on track and rolling toward that finish line!! :moped:

Wow, Jenn ... you had a LOT to deal with in 2003, and still came up a loser when the year was over ... Way to Go !!! ::yes::

I always like to look at it that it took me 11 years to put all of this weight on ... and even working away at it slowly will allow me to take it off in a lot less time than 11 years ... doesn't have to be within even a year or two. I WILL get there someday, and anything less than before is an accomplishment to be proud of!

Congrats !
