A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

Mr. Tim, although we all appreciate the 3 updates, shouldn't you have been off snuggling with the wife last night instead of the DIS??
Well after I cooked Melody & Juliana steak and king crab legs, Mel wanted to watch a movie. After Juliana went to bed we started watching the new Alice in Wonderland. Melody must of thought highly of it... she was passed out within 20 minutes of it starting. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have to give you a :thumbsup2 for the Christmas present for Mel. I really love those DB bags. I see, you didn't get the wristlet then because you wanted to wait until you came back to get it for her to give her another surprise - right???? ;) I have the wristlet too, I like them because you can get the different colors to match you. So far I have the green but I'm hoping to get another color or two (Yes, I know this is a girly conversation).
I'll keep that wristlet in mind for mother's day or when I mess up REALLY bad! :rotfl::rotfl:

Too many cute pictures to comment on, she really is so adorable. I was going to say the same thing Molly did about the teacup photo, I think that's tied for my favorite photo of her along with the 'pose' pic at Philharmagic. I can't believe the CM with Santa. Maybe she was having a rough day but that was a bit rude.
I didn't even realize Juliana's reflection was in the tea cup pic. I really like that too now!

I don't want to dwell too much on that CM... we really had wonderful experiences with everyone else.

Ooh I see Molly is doing a TR, I'm heading over there now....
We got tricked!!!! :lmao:

Wow I don't think that I ever paid attn to the water fountains on each column around the Cindy fountain. How cool! That's what I love about WDW, there's always something new to see that you missed last time.
I think I see something new all the time. Who could ever get tired of Disney??? :confused3

Love the custom princess dresses on both girls too!!!
Thank you! :goodvibes

I loved all your MK pics. I'm seriously missing it bad!! :guilty: Wow, they sure are getting a lot done with the expansion! I loved "cheating" and looking while on Dumbo! haha
You have the Disney itch?? When is your next trip?

They were making progress with the expansion. I wonder if it will be ready on time. popcorn::

While I thought Snow White definitely needed a refurb, I am a little sad to see it go!
A refurb as in making it less scary? :lmao:

I can't wait to see the new Pooh line. The part where you touch the honey looks so neat!
It was really cool... they should give you hand wipes once you get on the ride though. EVERYBODY was touching it. :rotfl2:

Aw..I love that pic of Ana holding hands with that girl. Her dress looked pretty too!
Thanks!! I might be biased but I liked Juliana's dress better. ;)

Marv, I was talking about that yummy speci-man behind the goat! And I'm not talking about the goats behind either!
:lmao::lmao:

All the guys that do shepherding in Kaz. have about 20 fewer teeth, look like California raisins, and carry whips. Oh WAIT!! Tim, you fulfill 33% of that description!
Do I have to break it out again? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Now, onto the updates! Good night!!! You hammered out some serious park action there! Someone already commented on that really cool picture of Ana's face reflected in the teacup spinner. Nice!
We were hitting as many rides as we could. We did pretty good considering our time constraint.

Santa's Helper needs to move to the North Pole.
Maybe even the South Pole? Or Kaz? :rotfl2:

I knew you hadn't gotten the wristlet. Better get it for next time...
That is the thing about you women... whatever WE do it is never enough.:laughing:

That's so sweet your little princess shared her pops and made a new little friend! Love that!
Except she didn't want to share with her dad.... :sad1:

Give her a few years, and she'll like Snow White. Mikki was freaked out by it when she was 4, by the time she was 12, it was no problem!
Too bad it is going bye bye.

Ana not only seems to be a little Diva, but also a little Daredevil. Great that she liked the Barnstormer! :thumbsup2
She is hard to figure out sometimes... one minute she wil do anything, the next minute she is too scared. Typical girl I guess. :confused3

I wanted to do BBB but thought it'd be to weird! Lol funnyt hat you find adults that did it though!
They were just walking by and I had to take a picture of it!!!!! :lmao:

I read somewhere as well that they're getting rid of Snow White's scary Adventures and replacing it with Seven Dwarves mine coaster so lucky ye got to ride it this time if it was your first time to go on it! :)
That is true. Snow white is going to be replaced by the new princess meet & greet. So I am glad that we did get the chance to ride on it.

Hmmm, men with 20 fewer teeth, California raisin complexions and they carry whips? Sounds like a fabulous eHarmony profile! Tim doesn't look all that raisiny, I've never counted how many teeth he has BUT I have seen him with a whip. So you're right!
I have ALL my teeth. Thank you very much. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

So, glad that Juliana got to see all the princesses! That was dress was a hit with all the ladies. I love that Juliana had to show the Fairy Godmother that she was also included in her dress as well. That kid is so cute.
We were trying to find the stepsisters but we couldn't find them. We thought that they would get a kick out of her dress.

Nice move getting the construction shots from Dumbo! Cleaver sure, very cleaver. I'm so sad that I will never step foot in Toontown again. :guilty: But I am excited to see some new things around MK. I can't decide if it's over kill on the princesses or not. I mean I don't know a little girl under 7 years old who DOESN'T love the Disney princesses.
I wish they added a few things for boys. Those poor little guys are always getting left out. pirate:

I'm surprised Ana was scared by Snow White. You never can tell with those dark rides. I do however, really like the new queue for Winnie the Pooh. It look so much better than the old set up. The little play area looks cute.
I like it better too. Pooh always has a long line so this should help out with the waiting.

OK, I have a bit of a beef with this CM by Santa.
Ut Oh! :lmao:

Why the heck would she say something like that. Maybe because Juliana doesn't LOOK sick like some other Wish kids, but still, who is she? I dunno I just think it's a weird thing to say and I would have felt guilty too.

I thought that too.. how does she know Juliana's situation just by looking at her though? I'd rather think she was having a horrible day and took it out on us. :confused3

Kathy said:
Nice daddy/daughter picture.

Love this picture of mom and daughter (Mel has a beautiful smile).
Thanks & Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Mark says to tell you that this is his FAVORITE picture of the bunch.
Haha.. I'm glad he liked it and I was able to get some pictures of HIS ride for you. ;)

Just don't know what to say.
We didn't either. :confused3

Great picture from such a silly girl! Nothing can make you smile like some Philharmagic.
Silly and attitude! :lmao:

Mark would LOVE riding the teacups with Ana...he loves to go fast too. Me, not so much.
One of these days... one of these days....

What a nice girl sharing her lollipops with the kids (especially since she would NOT share with her daddy
She was nice.... but no to me. That's (not) nice! :rotfl2:

Okay. This is NOT a good day to mess with me with all that is on my mind. What the he** "double hockey sticks" is the matter with that CM? She should NOT be working with people. Boy, that makes me angry.
We didn't get it either. This was our only bad experience with a CM.

Another bathroom break?
Of course!!!! We were on the WDW bathroom tour. Didn't you know? :rotfl::rotfl:

We got it a lot :sad1:
We did have a great CM at DHS that got us VIP seating to Indiana but really MK was not magical for us at all. I wonder if it was because we had a big group?
To tell you the truth we had the best treatment at Sea world.
Wow.. that is terrible. I am so sorry to hear you had unpleasant experiences with CMs. I wonder what was their problem.

Kristen If I was gonna torture anyone it would be with BARNIE:scared1: (Thought Steph would go to High School stiil being in love with that Purple guy!!):lmao: And then came Kyle who outdid her with Teletubbies let me tell you I had evil plans for those things !!:scared1::rotfl2:

Tim it has taken 2 years of counselling but I can now look at pix of Barnstormer;)
LOL Barney is TOURTURE!!!

I'm glad you are able to look at pictures of the Barnstormer again. I wouldn't want to responsible for making you jump off the wagon. :lmao::lmao:

Wow! 3 updates! You are really on a roll, Tim:thumbsup2
LOL Thanks!

I love how Juliana modeled her dress for all the characters - so cute:cutie: Minnie's House is so cute - I hope they do save the Toontown structures somewhere - even in a play area or something.
That would be a great idea..... I wonder where they can drop 2 houses though? :confused3

Rude CM? I can't even understand that, with the buttons you had. I know before FP, we used to get one for Jim's uncle because he had trouble with his feet - sometimes his limp wasn't apparent and we got judged, but with a GKTW button? Come On! Maybe that CM needs a new job at bag check or something.
I don't know what was wrong with her. Maybe she should work at the park after it closes.... or maybe not even at Disney:rolleyes1

Hey, good job on the purse! I'm sure you scored big points on that one!
Thank you! Melody really loved it... she hasn't stopped using it since Christmas. :santa:

Three great updates, Tim! You guys certainly got a ton done in a short amount of time. Phew! Too funny about that particular mailbox, I'll have to try and and find it when we're there. My husband actually teaches in Bridgeport...poor thing. :lmao: Juliana is just beautiful in every shot. And I thought it was neat how you got the shot of the construction in Fantasyland. :thumbsup2
The mailbox was outside the Emporium. It should be very easy to find.

I salute your DH. Although I feel like inner city schools are sometimes easier than suburban schools.

I've seen people taking pictures of the construction so I wanted to get my own.

Not major, but it did make me feel bad! :sad2: You know how sensitive a guy I am...... :guilty: I'll save the details for the TR.
I'll be waiting... popcorn::popcorn::

"Look at all the people you're cutting." "Oh wow, did all their children have cancer too?"

...but I can be a bit nasty... How rude of that CM. Honestly.

Oh, I'm so upset for you that the CM made you guys feel guilty, how dare she!!! That's ridiculous, if she only undestood all our little ones have had to go through was far worse than those people having to wait an extra minute in line!!! grrrr.

I love all the new updates!! I'm really glad we decided not to try Snow White, we thought they might be scared! Phew!!!

They were just walking by and I had to take a picture of it!!!!! :lmao:
It's funny. I still wouldn't go on my own though.. It'd be to weird a load of little ones and me ha... I stick to my twinkly shoes lol!

Thanks!! I might be biased but I liked Juliana's dress better. ;)
I think Juliana's Dress was nicer as well not that the other little girls dress wasn't pretty just Juliana's was nicer ;) Ana's was pinker :)

We asked a CM where the correct place for us to go was and she made us feel bad for asking. She brought us up the exit line told us to sit on a bench. Then she told us that we should be thankful for sitting here and to look at all the people we were cutting. Wow, I totally felt like crap and guilty for being here. I wished we didn't ask to see Santa at all.

No idea how I missed this. A little background - my wife has a degenerative disease. It's an on-again, off-again diagnosis of systemic lupus with a solid diagnosis of severe rheumatoid arthritis (RF of 1,010). The result is that if she "over does" anything (ie: walks too much, doesn't drink enough water, experiences any large amount of stress, etc) she becomes sick for weeks at a time with flu-like symptoms minus the vomiting. She can't move and is in a lot of physical pain through most of her body, fevers, occasional seizures, etc. Anyway, she usually walks with two crutches but when we're at the World we just bring her chair because it's just easier. She can walk (with assistance) short distances and people see that and assume she is fine when in fact she is only pushing her own limits.

All that to say, we've taken two trips in the last two years and have yet to have a problem with using the handicap entrance to any ride. Granted, there have been some changes in the way they handle the handicap riders, mostly in that they now have you get on roughly at the same time that you would have if you were in the line. The only difference is that it's a lot easier on you physically because you're not constantly standing/moving/standing.

Now, addressing the GAC issues, there have been a LOT of people forging GAC cards. I see them as I do the people who have handicap placards to get good parking yet you see them hop out of their cars and run into the store. This is the worst form of self-centered behavior as it takes away the opportunities of those who actually need it and it sours the cast members against people who use them. I know that you had your GAC card checked in the morning and I hope that the CM explained it to you at that point. This is what bugs me the most about Disney - it's not the company, but the visitors.

As for the CM, that person was in the wrong. They should know better and are trained to err on the side of caution, despite what they've seen over and over. While I can understand her frustration, she never should have said that. Personally, I would have informed her manager. I'm with onelilspark in that my fuse is particularly short when it comes to defending my wife and kids from unnecessary criticism. If we're in the wrong, I'll take it, but don't insult us due to our particular needs because of issues that you may never experience in your life. Grr...

Oh yes I have the Disney itch!! I don't think we're making it there this year, but we are sort-of throwing around a trip over Christmas break with Uncle and the Little Guy. But we'll see..the one trip I do know about is August 2012 for the HONEYMOON!!

I hope it's done in time..or at least some of it is done and open by the honeymoon, but I won't keep my hopes up!

LOL..yes because it was SO scary! ;)

Of course, Ana's dress was better!! :) :)

"Look at all the people you're cutting." "Oh wow, did all their children have cancer too?"

Don't hold back now! :lmao::lmao:

Let's just say it rubbed us the wrong way. :sad2:

I guess the title should say it all Snow White's SCARY adventures! Good move on skipping it! :lmao:

It's funny. I still wouldn't go on my own though.. It'd be to weird a load of little ones and me ha... I stick to my twinkly shoes lol!
You turn people heads with those Sketchers? :lmao:

Love the updates. You got a lot done in that short time. I would've complained about the nasty CM though. How dare she say that. That really irks me.

Wow... your wife has to go through a lot. You really can't judge anybody because you have no idea of their situation.

All that to say, we've taken two trips in the last two years and have yet to have a problem with using the handicap entrance to any ride. Granted, there have been some changes in the way they handle the handicap riders, mostly in that they now have you get on roughly at the same time that you would have if you were in the line. I never even knew people forged the GAC. That is just horrible. On Juliana's GAC there was a checked box and at the bottom there was a stamp that said something along the lines of 'CM- please give access as quickly as possible' (I don't want to scan it or anything but you get the point) She also had the GKTW button on that has the dates of her Wish trip. Now it seemed most CM's just saw the GAC card while others really took the time to read the card fully and we were pretty aware who 'knew' what they were doing.

We received the GAC in orientation at GKTW. It is a pretty thorough orientation that goes through GKTW, the parks, parking, strollers/wheelchairs..etc. They did spend quite some time on the GAC for Disney and for Universal. I think we were pretty informed on the use and limitations of the card.

As for the CM, that person was in the wrong. They should know better and are trained to err on the side of caution, despite what they've seen over and over. While I can understand her frustration, she never should have said that. Personally, I would have informed her manager. It takes a while for people to get under my skin... my wife on the other hand...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

At first we were in shock more than anything, then it was guilt. At the moment I wasn't even mad at the CM (if that makes any sense) but as the day went on I did think back to that moment and I probably should have done something. And later on in the day, we got 'yelled' at for the same thing... KINDA. ;) :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I knew your honeymoon was there but I wasn't sure if you were trying to get back this year.

That would be great if you were able to get down there during Christmas with your family. I know someone would be loving all those decorations! :santa:

LOL..yes because it was SO scary! ;)
:lmao:

Of course, Ana's dress was better!! :) :)
LOL thanks! ;):goodvibes

Tim, with all the snow you have had, this picture made me think of you!

cid_20110203184512_E2C38B25resin07_mta_everyone.jpg

come on 3 updates in arow, you are making the rest of us (namely marv) look bad.
:rolleyes1

but i did enjoy them.

I'm guessing YOU picked the pink Dumbo, what with your lost Man Cred and all.....
now marv he did lose his cred, but lets hear him out.

I know my cred is down the drain but someone else picked the color. ;)
see i thought soo...i bet his "buddy" mister long flowing hair locks (im speaking about T. Brady) :crazy:picked out that pink color for him.

Love the updates. You got a lot done in that short time. I would've complained about the nasty CM though. How dare she say that. That really irks me.
Having the GAC helped get us on the rides fairly quickly.

You've already seen my comments on the CM.

That is great!!!! We always use the 'outdoor' cooler here. We could of had one like that, but I always shovel out my doorways. :lmao:

come on 3 updates in arow, you are making the rest of us (namely marv) look bad.
:rolleyes1
I've learned from the best... I couldn't let Marv show me up with his 3 updates in a row. When was that anyway?

now marv he did lose his cred, but lets hear him out.
HEY! :headache:

see i thought soo...i bet his "buddy" mister long flowing hair locks (im speaking about T. Brady) :crazy:picked out that pink color for him.
LOL :lmao::lmao:

I tried to find a pic of his wife to post with the saying 'Who's laughing now?' but I couldn't find a DIS worthy picture. :rolleyes1

it is not something that should be made that public, it is pretty embarrasing when marv shows people up in something.

I tried to find a pic of his wife to post with the saying 'Who's laughing now?' but I couldn't find a DIS worthy picture. :rolleyes1
im sure you didnt mind googling that.

I have really enjoyed all the updates and photos.... I got behind but it was fun to read it all.... Thanks!

Wow, I fell behind a lot being out of town for a week!

Love the dress that Juliana was wearing. So adorable!

I am truly flabbergasted at the whole CM experience when meeting Santa. Any GAC is issued for a reason, and it's not anyone's place to judge when there is nothing "visibly wrong" with a person. I really hate the mentality of some people.

Tim I read all your updates last night and just had a chance to read again so I could sign. You take such care in all of your reports, I want to make sure I "digest" it all...sometimes I miss stuff when I am tired.

I LOVED all of the photos and how much you were all able to accomplish in such a short time. All I will say about Santa is I am thrilled you got to see him and didn't let that color your feelings on how wonderfully you were treated otherwise! :goodvibes Juliana is such a cutie pie :lovestruc and wears her customs like a model.

I am sorry she was scared on Snow White, it truly is a bit of a disturbing ride when you think of how kid frinedly Fantasyland is...to this day my 20 year old talks about the very FIRST ride he rode in Disney World scaring the life out of him (who knew that witch was gong to pop out like that???). We had NO idea what to expect, Snow White seemed tame to me! :lmao: I didn't have the DIS to educate me on what I needed to know then....

Looking forward to more when you have time! popcorn::
