A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

I didn't realize "washer machine" was a Southernism.

Oh, Happydog, I wish you could whip up a costume for Connor while you are working on the Knight and Dragon -- I am about to lose my mind over his lack of a Halloween costume. Does DH have anything in the costume department of his school? :lmao:

Wigd, don't worry about leaving a mess --.

Oh he surely would have something for a 10 year old boy!!! He is 10 now, right? I couldn't remember which Bday we just celebrated!!!

All kinds of stuff... he has...::yes::

Does Connor have an idea of what he WANTS to be? You can do a lot with a glue gun and felt!!!

I sew.... costumes mostly, some window treatments, but nothing that I would wear!!!! "except" flannel PJ bottoms.... for the kids and me... no one is going to see my handiwork while I am putzing around the house!!! HA!

The Washer Machine was cute :goodvibes

Yep, 10 -- he has no idea -- that's the overarching problem!

:rotfl:

So I guess Kansas isn't Southern, is it.... :rotfl2: Well not regionally, I supose!!! You are the "Middle West" that Gatsby speaks of... ;) And that gal with the RED shoes... you know I was thinking for a 1/2 minute of Kentucky... is that more "southern!!??" :lmao:
Yes, we are in the "Middle West' or the "Plains States" as we teach in school. I always thought we were "Midwest" but I think that's now reserved for states like Illinois.....
We are for certain the place where Dorthy Gale comes from....

"BINGO" on the Yoda... I might have photos. Pretty funny. I will post pics when they are all done, don't worry! Going to post my mini trippie to shennandoah on my Dec PTR... but TOMORROW. I am hittin' the hay!!!! ;)
I just had a feeling about that one and can't wait to see the photos!

Ack, that is a rotton way to end the trip! YUCK. Glad you made it home in one piece!
We made it home in one piece but think we would have been much better off hanging out at the pool before we left!
I didn't realize "washer machine" was a Southernism.
I wish BD was here to comment! I'm putting it on my list though....

Anybody have any suggestions on what I should use to make Baylor's door? I think it's going to be more of a frame type, door looking thing that he can carry during his Halloween parade at school. Oh the sorrow, it's his last elementary school parade!:sad2:

Wigd, don't worry about leaving a mess --.
Well, if you say so.
Oh he surely would have something for a 10 year old boy!!! He is 10 now, right? I couldn't remember which Bday we just celebrated!!!
Baylor and Connor are the same age for a few more weeks!
All kinds of stuff... he has...::yes::
Do your boys every get to go to school with dad and dress up?

I wish I could sew, just enough for the PJ bottoms and some window treatments, I had a sewing class in Jr. High, but now I wouldn't even know how to thread the "sewer" machine...... If I could get the thread going I'm sure I could handle a straight seem, just no puckers or anything fancy....

The Washer Machine was cute :goodvibes
I can't wait to use it in my next house work conversation......:rolleyes1

Yep, 10 -- he has no idea -- that's the overarching problem!

:rotfl:

That is a problem, once you have the idea the rest is pretty easy! Coming from the person that still needs to find work boots and find something to make a fake hacked out door......
We have a Harry Potter cape and Nimbus 2,000, or a great Capt. Jack Sparrow from the Disney Store in a size M. I'd be happy to send you either if Connor is interested.....

Okay, Southern Belles --- is it a WASHING MACHINE, a "WASHER" or a WASHER MACHINE??? This Marylander isn't certain... we are still confused about our location, Easterner, Mid-Atlantic-er... you get the picture ;)

To most Kansans it is a WARSHER or a WARSHING Machine....Where did these people learn to talk? (and I am a native of the state!)

oh, and I am not a Southern Belle....:confused3

Anita, as soon as Sleeping Beauty is awake, I will ask him about the Captain Jack or the Harry Potter. I would gladly pay any shipping costs to get it here on time. :goodvibes

I didn't realize "washer machine" was a Southernism.

I didn't either. :confused3 I always say washer or washing machine.

 at your flight home. Come through Charlotte next time and ya'll can stay with us if there's any flight problems. I know you know this now but Red Roof Inn is the WORST hotel chain EVER. It only took us once to determine we'd never stay at another Red Roof Inn. I know you probably didn't have a choice though. On the upside at least you had a bed and didn't have to sleep in a chair in the hall!

Sad that this trip is over but looking forward to your Christmas adventures!

This was the only other place with a vacancy.....

Yes, I suppose, some do that, the Kansans with a "twang".....but that wouldn't be me either.....:confused3
Have you forgotten about that picture of her office?
Not my office, I have no office. Actually my desk at school is quite neat.:cutie:
Oh, come on now, are you sure???
No, not for sure!:rotfl:

If he wants I can send them both...

I'll have Marc check the flights to Kansas that swing by your way, Atlanta is soooo big and sometimes we have to run to make our connection!
I have a feeling our Christmas adventure will be full of the drama that makes a great trip report but perhaps not the most enjoyable of trips....
:sad2:
I'm from the VERY DEEP South and I say washing machine.
OK, so are you saying "washer machine" in a Jackieism?
This was the only other place with a vacancy.....

bates-motel.jpg
That's how it seemed.....pirate:
:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

We have one of those right down the road from us, and I swear I always hear that creepy music when we drive past it!
You know, I love that movie....
:lmao:

Well, it's only slightly better than a Red Roof Inn. I hear the showers are to die for.
Oh Jill, that was soooo stinkin funny! :rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::laughing::rotfl:
joining in .....:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

I :lovestruc all of Hitchcock's movies! This is the best time of year to watch them!

I asked the Costume Diva about both of them, and he said no. :headache: Do you see why I am losing my mind???

Does Costume Diva have a party at school this week? Baylor's has to be ready on Wednesday. The have their parties first thing in the morning. They come dressed in their costumes, parade around the classrooms, have parties then back to the business of school for the rest of the day. Oh and with our wellness policy, no candy. I think his class is having breakfast burritos, apples with caramel dip and juice.

I need to check out some of the classic movie channels, I'd love to see "The Birds" or "Psycho".

Costume Diva's party is Friday with a parade. My guess is we will be at Walmart on Thursday night while he grabs the first thing he sees. :sad2:

I like the idea of breakfast burritos and apples -- that sounds good.

I'm thinking washer machine is a Jackieism. I've never heard it before either and I'm Southern through and through.

I can't believe y'all can still do costumes at school. We are forbidden to even consider costumes (I definitely live in the Bible Belt!) I wear a witch hat every year, although this year I thinking I'm wearing my sparkly Minnie ears that I got last week! ::MinnieMo

Our football homecoming is next weekend. (Clemson) We're all going, so the kids are actually going to "trunk or treat" in the parking lot after the game. Lily is going to wear her Minnie Mouse costume (I'm looking for some black tights & a black turtleneck since it has no sleeves) and Morgan is going to be a Jedi (he has a long brown robe so it should be warm).
