well after lots of thinking and arguing with the other half we have had a complete change of plan !!

our original 5 week do everything big budget plan has been replaced!! mainly due to the kids ages and that there will be an awful lot we cant do as the children will be 4, 5 and 6

the new plan is a very budget possibly off site stay 2 week only and do only disney parks !!

we will then be able to increase the big trip fund and will take that when our youngest is tall enough to do the big rides/all attractions

Look at prices but might be worth staying at a Disney resort to get free dining for 5 of you.
2 weeks at OKW in a 1 bed villa = £3,915 less 3% Quidco = £3,798.
Includes tickets worth £1,149 and a $200 giftcard meaning you are actually paying £2,524 for your room & food.
Probably a little more than offsite but some prefer to pay the extra.

Possibly cheaper when Complete Orlando release prices, this price was direct with Disney.

I'm a wdw newbie myself but I think you've made the right decision. With the ages of you little ones it makes much more sense, I think they would have been just too tired out to appreciate a 5 week adventure too :thumbsup2

FWIW I think you're right to rethink your plans. If this is your first trip, you really want to just fit in the main parks and worry about the wider Florida when your kids are older and you have more time to appreciate it, rather than rushing to fit everything in.

I think you have made a good choice :thumbsup2

I also think Wayne might be right with the onsite stay - with DDP you can do lots of character meals if you want without worrying about the cost.

Agree with the others that this sounds a good choice! :)

Hope you manage to find something you like the look of at a great price! :yay:

I agree, good choice.

OKW is the best value. However if you prefer QS meals, a Moderate with free DDP works out well too!

it will be my 3rd trip but first taking the kids

yes i will look at the offsite but also compare to a disney property with free dining as if we have free dining it will obviously lower our required spending money/food budget

the thought of going to orlando and only doing disney with no sea world and universal traumatises me though

but considering the kids ages and the planned budget it will the best option

planned budget for this trip must be under £5000 if possible to include flights , hotel and the disney tix !!

Your children won't know they are missing anything and they will be having so much fun in Disney World itself. I am sure you will have a totally pixiedust: time:) :)
I am with the others on doing the DDP and staying on resort, especially as you will only be doing Disney, it just makes sense from the point of view you can also just quickly go back your resort for swim/relax time and then back to the parks again for the evening.

Just got price for Moderate with QSDDP to compare

£2,678 less 3% Quidco = £2,598. Tickets worth £1,149 and $200 giftcard leaves £1,324 for 2 weeks of food & room.
This is a £1,200 saving over OKW, anoyone thats doesn't mind eating mainly CS with the odd TS paying OOP then this is probably a better option, personally I want a TS meal every day so the OKW deal would be better value.

There is also car hire to consider as well. If you stay onsite and only plan to do Disney you could get away with not hiring a car whereas if you are off site you will almost definitely need a car.

My boys were 3, 6,7 ish when we first went. We did Seaworld as well as Disney and they loved that so that could be a possibility if you wanted something non disney
