Planning 2011 already, May. Thinking 6 or seven nights at Vero....Too much? Or should we split it up? Three nights in disney, 4 nights in Vero?

I'm very interested to see what people have to say. I booked Vero for six nights in May. I am certain I will have a good time but DF may be bored out of his mind by day 3!

Everyone will have a different opinion on this. I think it boils down as to what you expect to "get" from your time there. I have spent as much as 12 nights there and thought it wasn't enough. To me it's a great place to go and just relax. It's also (if you have the right sort of job) a great place to go and work - the relaxing atmosphere, oceans views/sounds are very helpful for both. It also helps if you have a car so that you can go off property, and explore the area.

We usually book vb before we do the member cruise. We only book for a night. Dw would like to stay there for a week to relax and do nothing. I wouldnt want to be there this winter its been cold. May to oct is fine you can look for the giant turtles on the beach at night. Your own car is a must if i didnt have car i would go stir crazy. I just cant lie around and do nothing.

That is my problem! Although, my DF always has work that he can do, so that may be my saving grace...:rotfl2:
I can hang at the beach, and he can work.

Are there a lot of places to eat? Off property, I am referring to.

AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A CAR YOU CAN GET TO THE RESTAURANTS OFF SITE. YOU CAN GO UP AND DOWN THE COASTAL HIGHWAY. OR FIND LOCAL EATERIES. THEY WOuLD PROBABLY SUGGEST PLACES AT RESORT OR YOU CAN GO ONLINE AND TYPE IN VERO BEACH AND CHECK OUT LOCATIONS AND LOOK ON AREA MAP TO SEE EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE. YOU BASICALLY WONT BE WALKING VERY FAR.

Great. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Vero is my families second favorite DVC resort. Maybe our first. We have never spent more that 6 nights but always have a great time. The pool is area is alot of fun and because there are no parks is usually the hub of daytime activities. The beach is not a gulf coast beach. There is surf and it can get rough during tide changes but fun none the less. There is fishing all up and down the coast very close to the resort and we bring poles and fish Sebastian inlet. We have also charted boats as well. You can stay inshore or go off shore depending on you taste. We caught 6 species of fish on one trip on the Indian river once. There is also golf nearby. A car is a must, if only for dining. The resort options would get tiresome after a few consecutive days.
The last few trips we have been doing 4-5 days at vero and 2-3 days at WDW. A nice mix. Also try to go during the sea turle egg laying time which is pretty cool.
There is a beach re-nourishment presently underway through April so I would stay away until it's over to be safe.

We did a weekend at VB several years ago and thought the two nights was just perfect. The beach there isn't my idea of the perfect FL beach (I'm a Gulf Coast fan). So we did it all in just two nights and headed to WDW for another week.

I think you both will get bored after three nights. There just is not much around the resort. Two nights three days is just enough.

We did 3 nights with the family and it just wasn't enough. We're doing 4 this year with family and friends. DH and I could easily spend a week there.

Bobbi:goodvibes

We did 3 nights at VB last summer after 4 nights at AKV and we felt like we didn't get to spend enough time at VB. So this summer we are doing 6 nights at VB and skipping WDW altogether!

We did 3 nights, 4 days last time and thought that was perfect. Our teenage daughters felt it was one day too long so this year we are doing 2 nights, 3 days to see how it goes. If it was just me and DH I reckon we'd do 3 or 4 nights!

We always stay 5 nights. The last day is always the "sad day". That said, we (I) love the ocean, we love nature, we don't like eating at restaurants, and we're pretty easily entertained.

That's us in a nutshell. I could even do 2 weeks! As long as the ocean is 5 minutes from our room - Walmart and Publix are close by, the hot tub is working and the sun is out, we're happy as clams.
