OK Seriously... I decided not to tell you guys I'm back and writing this because every time I do, something gets messed up and I can't finish!
So ages ago I finished up my day 1 (whew!) sooo without further ado...I present to you... DAY 2!!! (at this rate i'll be done in 5 years!)
I woke up a little early and only my dad was up at the time getting ready. I STILL felt like poop and my throat was hurting but nothing I couldn't over come. Watched the Today show as we got ready (seriously..that's what I totally remember growing up. Laying in bed on vacation in the morning and listening to Matt Lauer...haha. Things obviously haven't changed!) and then headed out the door to the Grand Ceremonial House for some breakfast at Kona.
Why do they ask for reservations at Kona in the morning? Seriously? There were 2 tables seated when we got there. MAYBE three! So we grabbed our seats and DSM and I immediately ordered a pot of the Kona french press coffee. SOOOO GOOD! I wish I could drink it every day in the parks. Now I have NEVER had Tonga toast (don't yell at me!) but I do love french toast and bananas...and cinnamon..and sugar. And if you fry anything, it tastes ten times better. I wasn't STARVING but I HAD to try it. I wasn't sure if we were going to eat breakfast at Kona again that week.
Holy cow it was GOOD! The bananas scalded the roof of my mouth at first (who would have thought that bananas inside french toast would be SO freakin hot?!) but it was completely worth it! Here it is...with the french press in the background..
I'm pretty sure dad and DSM both had eggs and toast or something to that effect. I tried to push for someone to get the macadamia pancakes since I wanted to try them too but no such luck! hmph!
After Kona, we hopped right onto a monorail to get to the TTC. yes, we're lazy. I know we can walk there from the Poly. DSM also doesn't have the greatest back though so we didn't want to push it and walk everywhere. Not that I was complaining... it was getting hot already and it was only like 9:30am!
From the monorail...
We got into Epcot and had our first 'discussion' about what to first. Obviously I wanted to do Mission:Space. So did DDad. DSM on the other hand gets a little queasy and figured going on first thing on a full stomach MIGHT not be the smartest thing to do. She insisted we still go on and she'll hang around. There was only a 5 minute wait for the orange line so I finally dragged dad from his Cinderella (yes...they call each other Cinderella and Prince Charming.. a very long and cheesy story...hahaha) and we quickly jumped on line. There was NO WAIT. Seriously. NONE. Not even 5 minutes I think. I was commander, dad was engineer. I can't get enough of this ride!
After the ride was over, we found DSM and I headed over to test track for some fast passes while the other two in the gang wandered to get water and head over to the Universe of Energy. Testtrack is one ride that we like but don't LOVE so fastpass is the only way to go. As I was heading back to the Ellen ride (or nickname for it..lol), I saw the Jamitors finishing up one of their sets so I quickly looked over and saw the fam still buying water so I stopped to enjoy some tunes.
Up next? Universe of Energy! I will admit, I do actually really like this ride. I remember the smell from when I was a little kid and it brings back so many memories!! I love the addition of Ellen and Bill Nye the Science Guy. I used to watch Bill Nye when he did guest appearances on the Mickey Mouse Club back in the day.
After the ride was over, DSM was ready to ride Mission: Space so we headed back down that way and again... no wait for the orange line!
I'm pretty sure this is where we might have possibly walked through the butterfly garden on the way to the countries. Didn't really get great photos of the butterflies since there was way too many people pushing around so I just snapped a few pics of topiaries and flowers and kept on walking!
Since DDad and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Voices of Liberty, we hopped on a boat and hurried across the lake to get to the American Pavilion for the next showing.
On the way in the Fife & Drum Corps was just finishing up
When I was at Disney in December, the Voices of Liberty was all decked out in the Christmas best and sang carols so it was nice to hear all the patriotic songs again. There was a couple celebrating their anniversary from Indiana (I think? it began with an I!) so the Voices sang a song about their sate. Very cute!
We then got hungry and headed towards Italy. We haven't eaten at Tutto Italia and wanted to try it even though it's changing again (so I hear?). I've heard mixed reviews, and especially being from one of the most Italian areas in the country, we were iffy. But omg! This place was GOOD! I don't understand what people don't like about it? Sadly I didn't take ANY pictures while we were eating. Sarah had called and said her and Holly were in the park and they were going to grab some food and then meet us after we finished eating. I also didn't feel so hot so I was in no mood to do anything really except relax. I didn't want anything heavy so I ordered the Prosciutto di Parma with melon and it was one of the best prosciutto and melon I've ever had (except maybe for one place back home and one place in Sicily!). Everything was perfect! Dad had another awesome meal. Sadly I don't see it on the menu on allears but it's also an older menu posted. It was like little pasta purses filled with cheese with a great light tomato sauce. Bigger than tortellini but thinner pasta. It was so good that he almost ordered two portions of it since me and DSM kept eating all of it! DSM I think had a salad but that wasn't as memorable as the other two things!
No dessert or cappuccino or espresso for any of us (I MUST have been feeling ill... I never pass up cappuccino or good italian desserts!) and we called Sarah to meet up with us. We ran into each other at the Lady and the Tramp topiary... Took pictures of us using photopass so I'll post those at the end of the trippie like last time!
We also made friends with this guy..
And who can walk by Snow White and all her Dwarfs and not take a few shots?
and a few Lion King buddies..
DDad and DSM stopped at a kiosk I think to buy the water squirter fans and Sarah, Holly, and I went picture crazy with all the little nicknaks you can buy..
As we passed by Germany, I had a craving for some Franziskaner beer that they have. I fell in love with it when I was in Munich and everywhere they sell it, I must buy some. Sarah and I eat grabbed a cup of beer and then we all headed on our way towards China.
The parents headed into the waiting area while we spotted Mushu outside with a photopass photographer. We quickly ran over there since no one saw him standing there and grabbed a few pictures. Again..all with photopass so I dont have any pics to post! After some pictures, we tried to head into the theatre but we weren't allowed to with our beers. This then lead to a drinking/chugging contest between Sarah and I while Holly caught it all on camera and Mushu was in the corner cheering us on. hahaha! Who says Disney characters don't know how to party?
We finally get inside and of course, the parents inform us that they're tired and they don't feel like watching the movie so they're going to head back to the hotel and meet us for dinner later on. So we chugged all that great beer for nothing?! We didn't want to see the movie either so we all headed out of China and said our goodbyes.
Hmm...actually..scrath the goodbyes... I'm pretty sure we rode Maelstrom with my dad and step mom too. So I guess we all headed over to Norway, rode Maelstrom, and then said our goodbyes in the Norway store!
What's a trip to the Norway store without pictures of our favorite troll?
Holly definitely has more entertaining photos so I'll have to see if I can steal some from her.
After some Norwegian fun, we headed to Mexico to grab a refreshing margarita!
Kept on wandering and found ourselves back in the Peter Pan topiary garden..
looking for land..
From what I recall it was HOT... so hmm...where can we find aircondition with no wait?! Ahhhh.... Journey into Imagination!
ok....ran out of picture room...so I'll be back (hopefully soon!!!)
