A Warning about Disney Crocs with the Jibitz

I had to check out the sherpas on the crocs website...I hadn't heard of them prior to your post...omg...are they the cutest???

Lots of new styles too. I'm sure they'll be a lot of croc-converts.

Not a croc wearer think they are just too ugly and un-manly for me (flame away but you won't change my mind) But I do understand the need knowing that you can get them wet on rides and from those fairley reliable Florida rain showers and they will dry quickly. And like sandals are cooler.
But wouldn't the fur in them negate the need? At that point why not wear sneakers?

I have to agree that they are not the most beautiful shoe, but for kids they are GREAT!

My 5 year old has a wide foot and hates shoes. She also hates socks because of the stitching across the toe. I tried buying seamless socks on the web but she still hates them and they cost a fortune.

Croc's have been a sanity saver in our house. We are going in December so the sherpa style might be just the ticket for her. No socks but still gets the croc comfort while feet stay warm. We will still bring a pair of flip flops for the wet rides but we would have to do that for sneakers anyway.

I will say this though (and probably get flamed). I don't like them on men. But I never liked any clogs on men either, so that is all I have to say about that.

:dance3:

The Sherpa lined would make the ultimate house shoe.

Yeah, I lost my Minnie Jibbitz.

I'm usually gentle with my shoes so I thought I would be OK and not knock them out, but I guess not.

So, I have a question about the washer - you put it between the back part of the Jibbitz and the Croc right?

pardon this interruption but couldn't you do the same thing with any kind of plastic lid? It doesn't really have to be foam - just big enoug to keep the Jibbitz from falling out.

I don't think so...that would be on the inside of the shoe and would rub, and would not be flexible enough to move with the shoe, whereas craft foam is.

Yes, that's right. I haven't tried it though, just read it worked for a lot of people here. I plan on buying the Castle jibbitz but I'll stick those in my Scutes and not try them on the Disney ones.

I think the regular Crocs clog things are ugly, too! However, I bought some of the flip-flop types (I want to say Ithaca, maybe?) and I like them because they look like regular flip-flops but much more comfortable.

Then don't wear them? :confused3

However, I wish we'd have had them during Hurricane Wilma. Wet Nikes are not a lot of fun.

One can only hope that was a joke, but just in case, they're for winter. I seriously doubt anyone would want to wear them to the parks in the summer. In Dec. maybe. I could have used them last Dec. when we were there and freezing.

You can make it out of anything...the concern about a plastic lid would be the sharp edges. If you were wearing socks, probably no big deal, but if you are barefoot, I wouldn't want plastic edges rubbing my foot all day long.

The craft foam is available at Walmart or any craft store for well under a dollar for a 8x10 sheet. You could make the circle/stops for every hole on both crocs with just one sheet. So while a recycled lid might be cheaper, it isn't a lot of money and the comfort factor would be highly worth $1. JMHO of course.

The idea is just to put something there to prevent the Jibbitz from being able to pop out. THey make them so they easily come out to change them, but that also means that flexing or scraping your foot on something brings them out. The foam simply means you have to reach inside and help it out. But honestly....how many people take Jibbitz off anyway? I can see I'd just be adding more until every hold is full.

Nope wasn't a joke, please excuse my ignorance.
Just think that the biggest benefit to wearing them disappears if you put fur in them that's all.

Oh, and you can put money down that I won't be wearing them:lmao:

The biggest benefit to me is comfort, and I think that is why most of us who wear them do so. I know I'm not wearing them for their looks---they keep me from getting blisters, and that's tops in my book---and I don't care what people think of me for wearing them. I guess dry feet does fall in the comfort category, and after weathering a hurricane at Disney World, I know drying fast is definitely a bonus, but no blisters is the #1 reason I wear them.

While it is unlikely I would actually wear the furry buggers to the park, I think those furry inserts will feel pretty good in the house during a Minnesota winter.

Anyway, I am unsubbing from this thread as it has strayed far from the original question about jibbitz and Disney Crocs.

Dinsey crocs with disney jibbitz need to have the clear plastic disney backing to stay in the crocs with the Mickey holes. I have only seen them, the jibbitz, in Disney itself. I was there in May and bought a pair of Disney crocs and a few jibbitz that have this plyable plastic piece attached when you buy them. You need to leave it on when you put it through the hole, with the plastic piece under the hole, as it holds the piece in. I love crocs and have a number of pairs. My grand daughters have them as well. Enjoy!!!!!

Also, if you buy the Disney Beach Crocs, they have bigger "holes" so the jibbitiz don't stay in. This is from the Crocs website:

Note: Disney© Beach Crocs have larger ventilation holes and are not compatible with Jibbitz

I also bought the jibitz with the clear disk on them at Disney. You leave them on when you put them on the Croc. I have adults crocs and my jibitz (with the clear disc from Disney World) stay in great!

I bought a plastic bracelet with holes in it to put jibbitz through. The holes are very small and the jibbitz do not fall out. The bracelets I saw came in many different colors.

I got the bracelet at a tiny little Baby Goods store in Grass Valley, CA. It is a very small town, but I don't recall seeing those plastic bracelets (not unlike the plastic bracelets everyone wears for particular causes, but these have the holes in them all around the bracelet.) It is a great idea to wear them that way. You can see them and you will not lose them.
I wish I could find another store that sells that bracelet. I have not checked the crocs site, maybe you can get them there. They are wonderful for displaying your Disney jibbitz.

I was unable to find these. Are they on the Crocs website? Thanks.
