Twice now I have clicked on the ads on the RH side of the screen only to have my antivirus program open up and ask me to block something.

One was for something called "schedulecity", IIRC, and the other was either the one about being a Nikon camera tester or maybe it was the one about the colorful mac notebooks.... in the case of the camera or notebooks, I expected it to totally be a scam in the end, but I did not expect clicking on the ad to start up my antivirus software.

Take it FWIW, but that is what happened to me.

Yeah, a lot of hackers love FB. In case you didn't guess and for anybody else out there who hasn't realized this yet. If the ad takes you to an anitvirus site DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT click on that page. You will be downloading even more trojans into your computer. Use YOUR OWN antivirus software and close the page you're on.

I got a ton of trojans once from something in Farmtown, still can't figure out just how i got them ,but clicked on the anti-virus thing not realizing that it was not my computer's program. Figured it out several days later when our computer started going real funny and a deep scan found a bunch more trojan viruses. Lovely

Oh and 1 more hint. The only time this happened to me was when i was using IE(hiring DH to work for me on FT). This never happens to me when I'm on Firefox. Take that how you want, but I learned my lesson.

I use firefox browser with an addon called "web of trust". you can hover over a link and it wil tell you the ratings of the link before you click it.

i think like five different ratings
security
ads
viruses
etc..

now that I think of it. I do not remember seeing those dots on face book..
