A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

After exhausting the novelty of the lobby, we headed for the fireworks viewing platform and Top of the World Lounge on the roof. This was where having a room on the top floor came in handy, since it would've been a drag to search for a cast member to let us up there—IF they'd let us up there!

Top of the World Lounge wasn't open yet, but Nathensey got me some shots through the window. Swank-o!

We headed over to the Contemporary to shoot some pictures in the convention center, which has some neat mod-looking areas (mostly in the old building—the new wing of the center is very Miami Vice '80s…)

The Roots caught us in our silly little escalator tradition!

Hey Carrie....HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Phew that you were able to check into that room in time....too funny though about the lack of sheers! Nothing like black-out curtains to kill the room ambience.

Although I am a Contemporary fan all the way, and overall *much* prefer its decor over BLT, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that master suite. That print of the castle over the jacuzzi tub is pretty special. And I love the glass tiles and the round mirror over the vanity.

Too funny how many photos Patrick was able to get in while you were getting ready. He is one productive photographer! Men get off so easy in the getting ready department, don't they?!

As always, love the Roots photos. I remember some of those from your Valentine's cards last year!

Can't wait to hear your full and frank review of the rest of the D23 festivities, and of course, I am dying to hear your impressions of the Castle Suite!

hhmmm....does that mean Bullseye is using his "Trigger" finger?

Happy New Year Carrie! I'm glad you loved your BLT suite, except for the view. I just can't decide. I'm just old enough to remember when that decor was for the up and coming young professionals or college students - or at least on Mary Tyler Moore or something. Perfect 60's efficiency apartment - I guess that's what they are going for - like I said it is elegant, but I don't think I'm feeling it.

That being said, I LOVE the Mod lobby. Maybe I'm bi-polar

I missed a bunch of updates...

I'm actually kind of glad to hear that the Candlelight Processional isn't all that. I've been dying to go to WDW sometime around Christmas, but considering I work in retail, I'll probably never be able to -- and now I can feel a little less bad about it!

I can't believe they consider that a lake view at BLT. That's so wrong! I do like the room decor, though...I appreciate it that they added some color, compared to the CR rooms, which are just brown. And tan. Oh, and gray.

How many pieces make up that wreath, again?

Those pictures completely made my day. There are so many fabulous ones I can't even start to comment. I am wondering how she got the pictures of you guys lying in the lobby. I seriously don't remember there being a balcony or other higher vantage point. I am curious now.

The fountain pictures are so fun! Great idea! Hope it wasn't too cold out afterwards.

You room view - meh! I noticed those rooms when we stayed there. I was very, very lucky cause I stayed in a studio with a view of the lake and MK. It was awesome, but those fultures! What the heck - they were everywhere.

Ah... Bay Lake Tower has worked its evil DVC magic on you too, eh? It's pretty much the only reason I'd join—so I wouldn't have to pay $600/nite for a room like that!

Oh good—I'm glad I made somebody feel better about it, cuz I feel like a big jerk for not being as enthralled with Candlelight as everyone else seems to be. I think it just depends on what your traditions are. Mine are more along the lines of an interactive experience (like the sing-along Messiah at Walt Disney Concert Hall—so fun!).

Yep! Nate went up on the 2nd floor breezeway/balcony/passage thingy to get those shots. You don't really notice it when you're under it.

So my trip this last fall with my DBF (Boyfriend) and DBFF (Best Friend Forever) inspired my Mom to want to take another trip back to the world in December 2011, which means...YEAH I get to go again and with my DBFF again as well. Al the planets have aligned for me. The reason I bring this up is we will be staying the Boardwalk Inn so and going to the WWOHP so now I am even more stoked to read your TR than ever So I shall be along for the whole ride and most likely bugging for updates
