A Very Chit-Chat Thread

Hey there!

Paula, I hope you can get some more sleep! 3.5 hours isn't much at all. I usually need 7-8 to function enough for a full shift at work.

Jillian, so glad to hear your parents didn't freak out. Maybe their mini vacation helped!

Does anyone know how the fast passes work for WOC these days? We want to try and see it again, but don't want to pay for the meals. Do you still have to go there first thing in the morning to get a good chance of seeing the show? Where do you go to get the FP? I would look through the Superthread, but that seems like a lot of work at the moment, lol. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I remember reading recently from someone who just came back and they said they headed over to the WOC FP machines around 11am and got them. I can't remember if it was the first show or last show, but they seemed pretty pleased with their section and everything.

Ok, we will probably just head there in the morning one of the days and get them early anyways. Thanks for the tips! I would go to AG again, but we don't have it in our budget this time around. We are going to do maybe one sit down meal in the parks, and it will probably be Blue Bayou or something like that. Haven't decided.

Are the sections you get with the FP's still random?

I think they may start out by section, but I'm not sure.......when they run out of a color it switches & I've heard it's switched colors on families......that would suck.....lol

If you like Blue Bayou.....have you ever tried Cafe Orleans?? It's to me better & cheaper (still can be spendy, depending on what you order) but that way you can get the Pomme Fritas (garlic fries) & beignets (Mickey shaped). Delicious!!!

We actually had Cafe Orleans last trip. It was really good! Although there was a little too much Parmesan on our Pomme Frites! And I LOVED my birthday beignet! We had a Blue Bayou reservation booked last trip, but never made it cause it rained that day and ended up not making it there. So still have yet to go there.

And that would totally suck to have the colours switch on a family! Hopefully they would let the family still sit together somehow!

I think you just have the CM standing by the machines fix things.

We did Blue Bayou once (just Mike & I) & it was EXPENSIVE!! We even shared a main course......It was good, but you're really pay a high price to sit in the dark......lol (ambiance is awesome with the POTC ride)...... we haven't planned a return because I'm not sure my kids would like the lighting.

We are still not sure we want to pay the price for BB. It sounds really cool, but we also want to try making to Mimi's Cafe at least once, and I maybe wouldn't mind doing a character breakfast again. We should make up our minds soon, cause we aren't that far away. During the summer it's probably best to call ahead.

I love BB. But it definitely makes it easier that I only have myself to worry about paying for. You could always just grab dessert there instead of a full meal.

That's a good idea! I think we are leaning towards going there. Dillon really wants it. If we do, we will probably just do the split plate thing or do dessert. We will see how we feel at the time. Maybe I will call and make a reservation tomorrow. Do you get a decent amount of food with the split plate?

What do you think of the new Robot Vinyls? I think some of them are kind of cute, but some are a little creepy. Not sure yet if they are worth getting or not. I am still eying up that Sushi set. I love it, even though I do not like Sushi.

If you split a plate at BB, just ask for them to bring out a seperate plate so you can split it yourself. That way you don't pay the split plate fee.

But as for the VM's, I'm not liking most of the new stuff. Which is good. I am not allowed to buy any more at all.

Probably a good thing! I can't believe they are on Urban 7 already. I didn't even get much of a chance to try for the ones I wanted in 6! I don't really like the Muppets ones, or I haven't really been into the Cutesters either. I have one from Cutesters too, but I don't love it. I just liked it better than that one I traded it for, lol.

Hi my peep's!!

Mike & I split our entree & it was definitely plenty of food for us. We ordered a starter/appetizer to share as well & then split the famous cookie boat (which they no longer have). We were stuffed!!!

I would definitely make ressies, especially if you're going to try to get into BB.

Hi Michele.....now I'm craving marshmallows....... :rotfl:

Ewww. Those are nasty.

Not fond either but I had nothing to add to the conversation and I wanted to add to it!!

I used to love marshmallows but not I have used them so much as a digestive aid that I am sick of them.

That photo is cute! Although I am not usually a fan of sugary marshmallow things either. Except for strawberry marshmallows. My grandpa used to give them to me and my bros when we were kids, and I still love them. Walmart keeps putting them on display and so I end up getting a bag every time I go in, lol. But only the McCormick's brand is good. I tried another brand and they were just awful.

These are them:

I think we will just try a split plate meal at BB and get a Churro or something after if we are still hungry to save some money.

Do I ask for a water table when I make the reservation or when we go in?

Ask Disney Dining, but they'll probably tell you they can't guarantee that. So when you check in for your meal, let them know you'd be willing to wait longer to get by the water since this is your first time with them.

We got a waterside table & the boats going by kept yelling for us to throw food.......I finally yelled at one of the boats to throw money!!! :lmao:

This was our 25th Anniversary Dinner, so 2 of our older boys watched Addy & Anthony & actually rode POTC!! They were going.....Mike.....Laurie......Mike......Laurie until we saw them......that was fun!!

Haha, that's awesome that they were able to see you from there. Funny that people would yell to throw food, but that's gotta throw off the experience a bit too, lol.

So, I just got some more bad news!
My friend who I was supposed to go on my DLR trip with just called, and said one of her coworkers' sister was in the hospital because she tried to commit suicide! And she is in London. So the coworker is heading there for two weeks. My friend isn't sure if she can still get those days off anymore because there isn't anyone else to cover her shifts at work.
I am very sad for the girl and her family, and I hope everything works out.
I asked my friend if maybe instead of getting the whole week off for San Diego and Disneyland, to maybe just get 4 days off and we can do Disneyland only. She is gonna go to work now and look at the schedule then talk to her boss tomorrow and see what she can come up with.
I still wanna go to DLR regardless, I mean I have had my heart set on this trip for months now. And after this terrible week DLR is exactly what I need. But I would prefer not to go alone. Especially since I am essentially car-less.
I might be able to get a friend or two from work to join me, but still that's very unlikely.
This week just keeps getting better and better!!! :sad2:

Awww, what horrible timing for all this to be happening! I really hope your friend can at least get some time off to join you.
