A vent about a cruise message board.

Right now, on the DVC board, there's someone who's convinced I'm headed for the poor house because I borrowed money to buy DVC.

 We did the same thing.. so howdy neighbor.. welcome to the poor house.. pick a room and redecorate to your hearts content.

To the OP... some people just feel an intense need to get on their soap box and start to spew their self important righteous garbage. I hope ya kicked that soap box right out from under them. ;)

We are taking our first cruise in June and I am seriously considering getting a baby monitor to put in the room right across the hall from ours.. you know .. the one my KIDS will be in. ;)

We are cruising again next March, and we're getting adjoining outside staterooms - one for us, one for my kids ages (at time of sailing) 11, 5 and 4. Before anyone gets their chonies in a tizzy, let me repeat they are ADJOINING rooms, with a door in between that will be propped open at all times. It was cheaper for us to book an adult in each room with the kids than than to get a bigger suite. Plus, it will help keep us tripping over all the luggage, clutter and whatnot for a family of 5. Plus we will have TWO bathrooms. I'm sure there are people out there who think it's criminal and would accuse me of being the poster child for bad parenting, but I could care less. What works for one family may not always work for another!

Shame on you JackieH for not telling the whole story! You fail to mention that you flamed a person who answered honestly and you received many nice responses.( remember you "thanking" everyone?) Did your Mom ever tell you "cheaters never prosper?" Well.....add liars to that. You owe CC an apology-which-SURPRISE!- some of us belong to BOTH boards!

I've been on 2 cruises with my kids--1st on HAL with a 3 and 4 yr old in adjoining rooms; 2nd on NCL with 4 and 5 yr old with one parent in each room which were next door to each other.

Each time I went on cruise critic and poured over all the info like I do with the Disboards. I never posted (for all the reasons mentioned above) and one time I even seriously considered cancelling because of some of the posts by people. (HAL people made it sound like my children would be horribly unwelcomed and we'd be chastised for taking them) Luckily, I trusted my own instincts and ignored them and had a great time with almost none of the horrible experiences some of the posters talked about. In fact, the staff and even other passengers doted on my kids and constantly commented about how great it was to see them enjoying themselves at dinner and looking so adorable all dressed up.....

Some are really die hard when it comes to "their" cruiseline and you just have to take it all with a grain of salt.

Go and have fun. Take the baby monitors but I bet you won't even use them (I didn't).

:stir:

:sad2:

Why can't people vent about something on "their" board without it having to turn into an inter-forum fight?

I am going to close this thread. We do not permit the bashing of other message boards. Thank you for your cooperation
