Up at 6 a.m. finalizing details for this great trip. DW and DS are up at 8 a.m. and we are ready to go out the door by 9. Our first stop: Blizzard Beach at WDW. We added this to our trip so we were very excited. We arrvied at Blizzard Beach shortly after 10 a.m. It was hot! Once in the park, we did a couple of attractions, and then decided to munch on some snacks at 1 p.m. We ate an order of fries, a small pizza and a pretzel. Total $22.10 After having those snacks we went back to the wave pool, did a couple of slides and started to get changed into dry clothes around 3 p.m. After we changed we went into the gift shop, DW got some jewelry, DS got some water toys and we were off. Next stop: Sheraton Studio City Resort on International Drive. We added this hotel prior to our Universal stay as we wanted to go to Seaworld as well before we headed to Universal.
We got to the Sheraton at about 5 p.m. When we got there, we were impressed. The hotel is themed like Hollywood in the 50's and it was really nice. Not as great as Universal resorts, but still nice. When we checked in, we got a room on the 20th floor because we are Starwood members and we got a view of Universal. To top it all off, a friend of mine works for Sheraton and we got upgraded to club level. Club level at $65 a night! I was psyched! So off we go to our room and it was very nice. It had two queen beds, and they were very comfortable. Almost like sleeping at home. Once we got to the room, we showered and went to the club lounge for drinks and snacks. They had a chicken dish and some cheese/crackers and fruit. Nothing major, but still nice. After snacks we went to dinner to the Olive Garden on I drive. DW had chicken parm, I had chicken scampi and DS had chicken tenders. Yeah, we like chicken....LOL. Total bill $54.22 including tip. After dinner we headed to Pointe Orlando and did some shopping at the Disney store, did the train ride with son and then went back to the hotel.
It was about 9:45. Just as we walk into our room, the fireworks at Universal went off. It was an awesome sight. We viewed them, changed and were off to bed. Next stop: Seaworld!!!!!!!
Stay tuned for more!
