A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I listened to "Oh Canada" about 30 times in the car today since Brooklynn was wearing her Canada bracelet and insisted we had to listen to it. She also took the magnets to church tonight to show her friends her Canada prizes. It was very sweet of you to send her such a fun package!

Morning BrooklynnsMommy, I am so sorry to have started something with the package...poor you for having to listen to the "Oh, Canada" song 30 times...:rolleyes1
You are very welcome, it was so fun picking out all the different stuff. Lexi enjoyed it too!

Morning MeMom, I have no clue how I detached a rib...:confused3. I saw my Family doc this morning and he was in disbelief. I don't think he believed me, so I need to get the Xrays and bring them to him later today. (I know what I saw, I'm not crazy. So frustrating.)
So at noon I see the Chiro again, maybe she has some insight.

I totally agree with your thoughts on John & Kate plus 8.
I had never seen an episode except the Disney one until this past weekend. TLC ran a marathon and I watched quite a bit of it (nothing else on, bed ridden ;)).
I have watched a lot of useless t.v. this week....out of bordeom.
So back to JK8, I was heartbroken for the kids by Monday night because fame & fortune evidently broke up thier family.
My wish is for them to stop doing the show and help to heal those kids.
Speaking from experience, Divorce/Separation is never easy on the children.
I wish them the best, I feel I have no right to judge them cause I havn't lived in thier shoes.
I can't imagine the stress of 8 kids, I have stress with just 2.
John said the most relivant statement on Monday night. He said " life is about choices". So true...So true.

OT question-

We have the option of doing a Riverboat Dinner Cruise in Memphis next month. Just wondering ladies, is this something I want to spend $55 on?
It includes supper and a two hour tour. (Not a three hour one thank goodness:lmao:)

I'm all caught up - yay! Your girls' day out looked like a lot of fun! I also loved the Disney shopping pictures......as always.

And I love shopping in order to give you the pictures! :thumbsup2

Kids can be so distracting -- I totally missed Connor's the first time -- too cute!!! What kind of store is it?

I was drinking my coffee from a Disney mug -- Charles was, too. I even took a picture to show you -- Charles thought I was nuts when I pulled his from the dishwasher to take the photo.

I was drinking from the Hollywood Tower Hotel, and he used his Animal Kingdom one.

Awesome mugs. I don't drink coffee, so I don't have an excuse to buy any. I have bought a couple for Drew, though, 'cause he's the coffee and hot chocolate drinker in the family. He thinks it's dorky at first, but he still uses them.

If he ends up not going in July, I may have to get that ToT one. He likes that ride.

Connor's is a really awesome steakhouse. Yummy!!!
You see, I didn't know it was a steakhouse, because you've never taken me to dinner there! :snooty:

Jill has to video Brooklynn singing that and Small World. It is too sweet.

I just remember Kate saying if one member of the family wanted to stop, they would, and now she's going completely against that. It's a classic case of what not to do with your family, yet at the same time she's supposedly running around the country telling other people about parenting. It's a joke, in my opinion.

Off topic? Is there any such thing as that around here? :goodvibes

I don't know about the riverboat tour. Is there a website for it?

Have you ever been to Graceland? That's something I'm interested in checking out. Not that I'm a big Elvis fan, but it is very unique, and he was The King and all. I think I'll end up seeing that someday, and if I were in the area for a few days doing touristy things, that would top my list.

I wish your conference was in Nashville. We'd meet you at the hippo! :)

The arrangement arrived when we were up front for the luncheon, so everyone saw it. They thought it was so sweet of Jill! A few of them offered to help open it.

Oh, she had a cart full of stuff, alright!
She loves the round shelf with all of the five and six dollar stuff, like the cars and Buzz laser gun keychains and such. She had a basket full of plush toys, and she liked the hula hoop, too.

I hope she learns how to be a frugal shopper, too, or she's going to be in big trouble!

:rotfl: Of course they offered! They probably were hoping you'd share with them!

Haha, such a good girl. :cutie:

I love the Animal Kingdom coffee mug!

My meat-loving family would be all about eating at Connor's!

You guys can come join us when we go.
I think Jill said the meal would be her treat!

Right, Jill? :duck:

I did have a bunch of scavengers at my door when I took it back to the room, but I kept it intact for pictures at home.

I love the Animal Kingdom coffee mug!

They're both cool. A little Disney to start each day is very important. :)

Entering the Maharajah Trail.

There was a little girl about seven who looked to be Japanese. She saw the bats and promptly said, "I wish not to go in there!"

There's a whole big story behind this area. If you don't know it, you should read about it sometime. It makes walking the trail more interesting.

The tigers were not active at this time.

The times I've been on this path, there have been few to no people, so if you're looking for a place to get away from the crowds, this is a good choice.

I just got all caught up from my weekend away...

Have a good Friday, all! We have several who are traveling this weekend, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Lady Lallie is on her way to Disney World! Let's all hope the rain moves out quickly for her so that she doesn't have to wear a poncho the whole time! Dawn is on her way to NYC. Brookelizabeth is having a fun weekend in Wisconsin.

Oh, that is so sweet. Thank you for thinking of me and for the prayers! We stayed safe and had a great time too!

License plates.

I was born in one of those states. Anybody want to guess which one?

And take it for what it is supposed to be. There is a whole big story behind it about a bunch of college kids digging for dino bones and then why this 'carnival' is right beside the big research center.

My guess was OK before you gave the answer. I have a friend who lives in OK, but was born in Arkansas, so just the opposite of you. All his friends tease him for the same reasons and call him weird. There is a rival between all those states down there it seems!

And I never knew that about Dinoland. Where did you find out about that story?

For just about the same price as a half-gallon of ice cream at home, you can get one of these.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK377.jpg

And worth every single penny, isn't it? YUM!

She is getting so big already!

Our pizza arrived. It looked good. It tasted not so good. Next time we will grab Happy Meals to eat in the car on the way to play at Chuck E. Cheese.

Thats a bummer! We went a while back for a birthday party and I was acutally pleasantly surprised with the pizza-ours was pretty good! The crust tasted garlicy, which was different.

That is so cute! What a wonderful gift Jill!

A happy little shopper.

Jill said I should point out this interesting product.

Love the shopping pic! You can tell she was just having a blast in there!

And the White Trash is an interesting product, but so are the MONKEY BRAINS!

Ah, you updated while I was responding! :goodvibes That was a nice little surprise. Love all the Tree of Life pics, all the carvings never cease to amaze me.

We have never done the 'official' trails at AK. I think this will be a "must" in December, and hopefully the crowd is still thinner in those areas...I think Henry will really love seeing all the animals too. I never knew they had a water buffalo!

I love the Tree of Life photos. It's just so mezmerizing to look at in person... and on the computer!

We loved the Maharajah Jungle trek when we have walked it too. So many interesting animals... and in addition - Maharajah is such a run word to say!

We're in for a meal at Connor's! :thumbsup2

Charles loves his AK mug -- he bought it last year at the Mombasa Marketplace.

Love the tiger pictures even if they were being lazy!

Excitement at our house today. I just bought a giant inflatable water slide. It is 10 and a half feet tall. We were planning on renting one for Brooklynn's birthday in August. It was going to cost $300 to rent for 8 hours not including a delivery and setup. Target had one on sale for $400. So now we have one we can play with anytime for a little bit more than what we would have spent to borrow one for a couple of hours. I can't wait to let Brooklynn see it and play on it. I will of course take pictures to share the fun.

The tigers were not active at this time.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK386.jpg

*sigh* I was watching these same sleeping beauties exactly a week ago today.... Thanks for letting me go back for a few minutes!

BrooklynnsMommy - Congrats on such a fun summer purchase! I have a feeling you all are about to become the most popular family on the block!

Just think, you could all eat there free since Connor owns the place......

Love the coffee mugs, wish I was grown up enough to drink it.......:rotfl2:

Your green light is on which means you are dising when you should be packing! AS much as we love your company we are ready for you to leave so you can return with pictures!!!!!!

Jill- how cool about the slide!! You guys will have so much fun with it!! Is it large enough for adults to play with it too?

Jill, I'm going nuts here with the closing of my thread! I think I'm about as packed as I can be until the morning when I can put the make-up and stuff in!
The slide sounds super fun! Is Brooklynn brave enough to climb all the way to the top and slide down?
Anita

I guess I missed it. Did you close it out yourself, or is there a glitch somewhere?

You are welcome to make yourself at home here for the night, and I'm sure CP and others will say the same.

It must be very exciting at your house right now! :dance3:

Harper's picture in the suitcase is so cute!
