A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Just started a new one, I have no idea what happened to the oldie........
Please join me!
:worship:

I guess I missed it. Did you close it out yourself, or is there a glitch somewhere?

You are welcome to make yourself at home here for the night, and I'm sure CP and others will say the same.

It must be very exciting at your house right now! :dance3:

Harper's picture in the suitcase is so cute!

No, I didn't close it, I spent some time very confused today trying to figure out why I couldn't post anything.......
It is exciting around here, plus Baylor had his last day of basketball camp today and it off to baseball practice right now.
I was happy to see Harper today, she gets to go to the Great Wolf Lodge this weekend.:goodvibes
Then Disney with Mimi and Poppy in December.

Excitement at our house today. I just bought a giant inflatable water slide. It is 10 and a half feet tall. We were planning on renting one for Brooklynn's birthday in August. It was going to cost $300 to rent for 8 hours not including a delivery and setup. Target had one on sale for $400. So now we have one we can play with anytime for a little bit more than what we would have spent to borrow one for a couple of hours. I can't wait to let Brooklynn see it and play on it. I will of course take pictures to share the fun.

Ohhhh... how fun. That is a great idea. We ended up buying a bounce house (smaller LIttle Tykes one) and it is by far the best purchase every made. I haven't seen the water slide ones yet - I will have to check it out!

It holds up to 400 lbs! So I will definitely be partaking in the fun

We used to rent the non water kind every year for Field Day when I was teaching. The students would "betting pools" on which teachers would beat the others and then totally egg us on. :lmao:

Enjoy!! I was admiring that earlier today at Target. It looks like a blast!

I love to look at the bats! They are cool!

Jill, the water slide sounds wonderful and lots of fun! Can't wait to hear how Brooklynn likes it!

Love the Tree Of Life carvings. I like how you got close up shots. :thumbsup2

BrooklynnsMommy How awesome! You will have so much fun with the slide. I bet it will be the hit of the summer. :Pinkbounc :jumping3: :bounce:

I love that walk around the Jungle Trek. Your picture of the tigers is about what I usually get. One time I did get a picture on one off using the facilities. I didn't realize it at the time but when I looked at the picture it was pretty obvious

I am always amazed at the carvings on the Tree of Life. Those are some very talented carvers. We have never come across the real kangaroos. I guess we will have to go back and have another look.

The water slide sounds fun Jill. We are looking at a new pool; maybe we could put them together. :)

Great photos, MeMom. I think bats are so cool looking, although they do freak me out a little!

The animal carvings are SO amazing! One of my favorite things about AK.

Your water slide sounds like a lot of fun, Jill. I'm sure Brooklynn will love it. That's great that you're planning on using it yourself. I definitely would, too!

i've never seen these guys at AK! i see pics of them all the time in TRs but i always seem to miss them. one of those "next trip" sorta things i guess!

It looks like you girls had a lot of fun together. I am sure you are all looking forward to being together at Disney World soon.

I bet Brooklynn will be so excited about her new slide.

The bats would be something that I would rather not see. But, I do want to see the tigers. I have never been down a trail at Animal Kingdom.

Awww, I love the tiger pictures!!!!! I just love tigers, they look so lovable until they open that mouth and you see the huge teeth!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

What cute sleeping tigers MeMom! I wish I could curl up with those big kitty cats and take a nap. *yawn*

Yay on the slide Jill! That will bring hours of enjoyment I am sure. :)

I have been working on pulling pictures from past trips for our countdown calendar. I found some video from this past October (the trip John, Brooklynn, and I took). I didn't do a trip report so I thought I would share some with you in preparation for our trip in July.

This is my favorite. She did this every time we passed by the Coke machine on the way to the pool.

My guess was OK before you gave the answer. I have a friend who lives in OK, but was born in Arkansas, so just the opposite of you. All his friends tease him for the same reasons and call him weird. There is a rival between all those states down there it seems!

And I never knew that about Dinoland. Where did you find out about that story?

And worth every single penny, isn't it? YUM!

She is getting so big already!

Thats a bummer! We went a while back for a birthday party and I was acutally pleasantly surprised with the pizza-ours was pretty good! The crust tasted garlicy, which was different.

That is so cute! What a wonderful gift Jill!

Love the shopping pic! You can tell she was just having a blast in there!

And the White Trash is an interesting product, but so are the MONKEY BRAINS!

Yep, I am on Oklahoma girl officially. However, I moved away from there when I was little, so I have no memories of it. I'd like to make a trip out there someday just to see the place I began my life.

You can Wikipedia the Dinoland story for a quick synopsis, but do a search here on the DIS for a better, longer version.

I will probably purchase a Mickey bar for Brooklynn and I to share on the summer trip. We've done that twice, and I imagine that will happen on most of our trips through the years.

I've had Chuck E. pizza that was better than that in the past, so they're not all like that one.

Ah, you updated while I was responding! :goodvibes That was a nice little surprise. Love all the Tree of Life pics, all the carvings never cease to amaze me.

We have never done the 'official' trails at AK. I think this will be a "must" in December, and hopefully the crowd is still thinner in those areas...I think Henry will really love seeing all the animals too. I never knew they had a water buffalo!

I think you have a pretty full agenda for December, don't you? How many days are you staying?

Wow, I love all the carvings in the Tree of Life.

It's an interesting and quiet place to walk around.

Just think, you could all eat there free since Connor owns the place......

Love the coffee mugs, wish I was grown up enough to drink it.......:rotfl2:

You won't read this response, because you are at this moment in Hollywood Studios, so I'm just going to write a pretend response.

Blah, blah, blah de blah.
Wah, wuh, wah, wuh, wah.

I love the Tree of Life photos. It's just so mezmerizing to look at in person... and on the computer!

We loved the Maharajah Jungle trek when we have walked it too. So many interesting animals... and in addition - Maharajah is such a run word to say!

I love to look at other people's pictures and just see myself right there in that spot. I love the DIS! :thumbsup2

We're in for a meal at Connor's! :thumbsup2

Charles loves his AK mug -- he bought it last year at the Mombasa Marketplace.

Love the tiger pictures even if they were being lazy!

We'll do that someday, and then everybody can go over to Jill's and play on the big water slide. :)

I will of course take pictures to share the fun.

You just take pictures of everything, don't you?!?!?

You have take pics Jill! :goodvibes

She will. She always has that camera going. ;)

*sigh* I was watching these same sleeping beauties exactly a week ago today.... Thanks for letting me go back for a few minutes!
BrooklynnsMommy - Congrats on such a fun summer purchase! I have a feeling you all are about to become the most popular family on the block!

Isn't it fun to just be there again through sharing pictures? :)

Jill- how cool about the slide!! You guys will have so much fun with it!! Is it large enough for adults to play with it too?

She's planning on giving it a try. Maybe Brooklynn can take a picture of Jill on it! :)

Could someone please remind MeMom that she has been back from this trip for two and a half months and we are only halfway through her first full day. We leave in less than two months MeMom and you have the rest of Thursday, all of Friday and Saturday, and half of Sunday to report on. At this rate you can read our July trip report in 2010!!!

I couldn't understand what Brooklynn was saying, but she looked cute saying it. Memom is only on her first day? Maybe she can finish now that school is out.

She says "Magic Kingdom and fireworks. Oh my gosh!" She cracked me up every time.

Yep she is only on her first full day and she starts teaching summer school next week!
