A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Ewwwwwwww snakes and spiders! :scared:

Aww, you're no fun!
Good thing you didn't have a little brother to torture you with these things when you were growing up.

Snakes give me the heebie jeebies -- even their skeletons!

While I am sure that Disney is providing a nutrionally rich product to their animals, I must admit that I prefer what they feed the human visitors so much more!

Did Connor see the pictures?

Yes, a buffet for humans is much more appealing.

I HATE snakes...but i thought the snake skeleton was pretty cool how it was still intact like that! We'll have to remember the conservation station for autographs even though the kids probably won;t know who they are!

I thought the skeleton was cool, too.

Even if Caleb doesn't know who anybody is, it'll still make for good pictures.

I have changed my mind about Conservation Station....I will not be going there.

Ssssssscaredy cat!

My tarantula has 8 legs, did the one in the picture have 10?I'm guessing it wasn't living, perhaps died during a molt........

Still waiting to see if my new teammates are going to welcome Rosie into our common space.........
:confused3:rotfl2::confused3

That's what I was thinking, as well.

Oh and about that chugging and clogging, CP and I will try that out in World Showcase in a couple of weeks, (I'll let you know if it leads to tripping and falling).:rotfl:

Don't get too wild, you two!

:yay: Woooooo Hooooooo another Nashvegas Dis'er :upsidedow

It will be fun to meet at the Hippo, and I think it would be fun to go eat at one of the rest's there or even in the food court. There are SO many choices. But it would be fun just to walk the mall like I got to do with Memom and Jill last time too. And we can spend as much or little time as we want

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!!

Looks like we might have a decent little meet going.

Wow, lots of really cool things to look at, and characters with hardly any wait. I think this might be a great spot to hit in December! :thumbsup2

I agree! I'll try to figure out who/what number to call...I want Mickey Mail! ;)

Ooooh, that day will be here before I know it I think...

It'll be a great place to go in December. The lab office is decorated very Christmas-like.

Wishing you a HAPPY DAY. It's Friday.

Thanks. It is Friday, and it is payday Friday, so that made it a little brighter.

I love the snake skeleton, it is cool. You never think about a snake having a skeleton like that.

What about Declan? Did he see it, or are you afraid to let him near us for fear we'll tell him about that other trip??? ;)

Sorry MeMom *hangs my head in shame* Could I get away with "the devil made me do it!"? LOL That's a great gift idea!

The more I see your pictures from Conservation Station the more I'm regretting we didn't have time to go over there. We walked the Pangani Trail and the girls really enjoyed it. I know they would have enjoyed Conservation Station too; especially Hannah. She loves animals and has been telling me for the past year that she's going to be a vet when she grows up so she can help animals.

I'll let you know when it gets close to my birthday. :rotfl:

This would be a great place for Hannah, then. Put it on the list for next time!

We have two snakes so we are used to the skins. The snake skeleton is really cool.

We live near Memphis, so the Memphis Zoo is where we go. It is a great zoo.

Maybe you can share some pictures of your snakes with all those around here who have such an affection for them.

Jill- I always assumed the picture of Brooklynn was from Disney World. That map does look very familiar now that you mention it. If you can make a trip sometime let me know. If I am not working, I would love to meet you.

I guess we could do it during the one week I have off between school and summer school. We'd love to meet you, as well.

She does have that summer break coming up doesn;t she?? Do you get a break in between school ending and summer school??

That is a possibility. Jill's bunch has been doing a lot of traveling lately, though, so we'll have to see how they feel about adding more.

Yes, Jill talk MeMom into a trip to the Memphis Zoo. I only live 50 minutes from Memphis we could have a mini meet at the zoo. I can bring my new grandson Ty to meet Bella.

I've been to the Memphis Zoo with the kids' school groups, but it has been a while. I'd love to go see all of the new stuff, and I would especially love for Bella to meet one of her future Dis boyfriends. With Caleb, Toby, Luke, Owen, and Ty, she's going to have a lot of good guy friends to do Disney with. :) Did I leave anybody out?

Ewwww. I can't think of much else to sum up the snake and scary things. I'm such a wuss. ;)

You have two boys, so you better get ready. If they know you have a fear of these things, they'll have a ball tormenting you with them!

*************************************

I'm happy to be finished with this work week. Next week is the last week of school, so it'll be crazy. This weekend will be the calm before the storm.

I'll try to get some more pictures up sometime this weekend. I'm part of the way through Day Two, and I've got about ten weeks left before we leave.

Do you think I'll make it? :rotfl:

oooh more great AK pics. Doesn't AK have the best themeing? I'm really obsessed with it its gorgeous. I can't believe there's going to be more shopping pictures!

School is over for you soon so :yay: !! Aside from the colleges schools don't end here for at least another month!

Okay, I know that I will probably get a couple of eyes rolled at me or some laughter out of this, but, I really had no clue that a snake had a skeleton......seriously I didn't. Number 1, because I don't like them and I don't like to read or hear anything about them. Its all I can do to go to Zoo Atlanta and walk with Hollie through the reptile house!! Ewwwww

Wooooow, I never think of snakes as having skeletons! That looks so cool! No, hlrababy, you are not the only one. :rotfl2:

Charles's brother got a bearded dragon from his wife for his birthday, and it's just a baby so it's growing and shedding its skin -- it freaks me out even though I know it doesn't hurt.

I'm excited that you're out of school so soon! My mom and Kailyn don't get out till towards the end of June due to all the snow days. :sad2:

Yep...declansdad requested them!

Just kidding. He requested food pictures, but I don't eat as much as I shop, so the ratios of food to shopping pictures is kind of low.

This week, and then I'm done.
For a week, anyway.
Then four weeks of summer school.
Then I'm done.

Didn't your 3rd grade teacher teach ya nuttin' 'bout vertebrates???

Could we get a video of you walking through the zoo exhibit?
Pleeeeze?

(Read: DIS time! :))

:sad2: (sorry, couldn't help it!)

Now, now, let's not make fun of Heather just because she didn't have a decent 3rd grade teacher. :)
I'll just have to make a note to take many more skeleton pictures so we can get her all caught up! :thumbsup2
Heather
, get your notepad and pencil ready for July!

I went to the post office this morning and picked up this super awesome package all the way from CANADA!

CanadianWDWfan, you way overdid it for just us sending you post cards!

This super awesome package from Canada held stickers, a puzzle, magnets, a Minnie shirt for Brooklynn, and the cutest little Minnie outfit for Bella, and a bunch of candy, some scrapbook pieces, a book, a pen set, a bear, a note pad, and a cool pack of mac and cheese with French writing on it!

It was like Christmas!

In Canada! :)

Thanks so much, my northern friend!

Oh yeah, there was some poutine mix.
I'm still thinking about that one!

I'm going to take out my part and close it back up so Brooklynn can open it when I see her next. She'll love it!

You are so sweet to send all that. I owe you a heckuva lot of post cards now!

Hey now, I didn't ask for any shopping pictures. I want more snake pictures.

Did Connor see the pictures?

Yes, a buffet for humans is much more appealing.

Yes, Connor saw the photos and thought they were cool -- he is a third-grade boy and all!

Next week is our last week of school as well, but somehow we aren't getting the calm before the storm -- this weekend has been crazy!!! I need everything to hurry up and be over so I can focus on getting ready for Disney!

Do we get photos of the goodies you were sent?

Awww, you are welcome! Cute paper...did you know it was from me...
Lexi and I had fun picking out all the CANADA stuff!
I hope you got a kick out of the "Kraft Diner" box since y'all call it Mac n' Cheese down there.
The scrapbook stickers are for BrooklynnsMommy to make a cool Canadian Epcot page.
Those candies are made of pure 100% maple syrup. Soo good!
I hope you got a laugh at the poutine....:rotfl:
Did the Aero bar make it? I was worried it would melt in the hot south? :sunny:
I hope the clothes will fit, I took a chance on the sizes. ;)

Declansdad I think we have spent enough time on the sssss's, what else is there to see...:scared1:
I want shopping pics!!!

Lucky! :cool1: We still have 13 more days down here in sunny South Florida! Oh, how I wish it was next week!

5 more days of the 3rd grade. Then do you know yet if it is 1st or 2nd grade? Are you going to be able to move your things to your new room for the summer are do they get to come home with you?

Hey now, I didn't ask for any shopping pictures. I want more snake pictures.

Well, okay.

From Thanksgiving 2007.

Or maybe this from this past summer.

I read about your day! I'm sure it was fun and tiring. Brooklynn had two birthday parties today, and she crashed in the car on the way home. Jill said she was just taking her straight to her bed when they got home.

I'll get pictures when Brooklynn opens the box. You'd have to see how packed that box was to believe it. Totally unnecessary, but so sweet, and Brooklynn will love it all.

Her little card was so sweet.
I had one of the maple candies.
Jill will use the scrapbook pieces, no doubt!

The Aero bar is interesting. It sort of just fell apart into little shreds when I opened the end. I tasted a couple of bites. It is fudgy and melts in your mouth quickly. It does taste good!

We'll take pictures whenever I'm with the girls next.

Lucky! :cool1: We still have 13 more days down here in sunny South Florida! Oh, how I wish it was next week!

Do you get the whole summer off?

Besides teaching summer school and helping with VBS and doing camp, I'm taking an online course, too, so I will be plenty busy.

5 more days of the 3rd grade. Then do you know yet if it is 1st or 2nd grade? Are you going to be able to move your things to your new room for the summer are do they get to come home with you?

As I understand it, we are both going to second. We'll be able to move our things into the rooms when those teachers get cleared out, but since there are going to be several moves, it could be a few weeks before the moving happens. I'll be there all through June, so I can do a little several days a week after class ends.
I am not dragging all that stuff home! No, no, no!!!

Okay, here I am DISing at nearly 4 AM because I couldn't get back to sleep! I kept on waking up off and on, but managing to go back to sleep, but when I woke up at 3:15 I was WIDE awake. My alarm was set for 4:15, and I was planning on getting coffee, anyway. Why aren't you here to keep me company?! :rotfl2:

That package sounds amazing! How sweet! The next time I go up to Canada, I am trying poutine. My dad loves it and we have similar (weird) tastes in food, so it's pretty safe to say that I'll like it, too. ;)

Glad that you are out of school so soon -- my mom and my sister don't get out till June 24, and go back before Labor Day, which is practically unheard of here.

Have a great Sunday -- I hope that your kiddos aren't too crazy this week!

Sorry about missing the middle of the night chat. I was actually sleeping at 3:15! I got up not long ago and got a shower. I've been working on making a list of all my photobucket pictures. I'm scrolling through every album and writing down the main themes and special pictures so that when someone asks to see something - a ride, food, resort, show, whatever - I can go to my handy dandy list and find it easier. I already had them listed by trip and sometimes by day or event, but I wanted a written list such as lion up walking around or Earl of Sandwich or Boo to You Parade and such. That will be a big help when people out here in real life want to see something and when another Diser asks for more insight on how many people can fit in a certain ride seat or how big a meal is at a particular restaurant and so on.

Disers are the nicest people, aren't they?
About that before Labor Day thing - that's how it started here years ago. They started the first week in September and took Labor Day off, which everybody thought was stupid. Then they backed it up into the twenties of August and then the teens. I think this coming school year the kids come back the 10th (not positive), but teachers go back several days before that. I'll be coming of the euphoria of our Disney trip and going straight to school. Bummer.

They have done better in the last two years about giving us a full spring break and even some time in the fall. We've been getting a week at Thanksgiving, which we never got before, but now they're changing that to a shorter week and putting on a week in October. Who knows what it is they're looking for? They've talked about year-round schooling here, so maybe this is their way of just wading into that.

********************************

Have a beautiful Sunday, everyone! We're supposed to be in the mid-60's with a.m. showers today before the rain moves out for the week.

On beach party day, Wednesday, it's supposed to be 83 and sunny, so that'll be perfect! We're going to let the kids bring water toys and other toys and games, and we're going to grill hot dogs. It'll be a fun way to end the year, so it's good to know the weather is going to be great for doing that. I might pretend I'm in Florida all day! :cool2::beach:

Do you get the whole summer off?

Besides teaching summer school and helping with VBS and doing camp, I'm taking an online course, too, so I will be plenty busy.

Not the whole summer. I get off from June 12-28 for a family trip to Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Then back to work until August 12-16. Teachers return back to school on August 17 (my birthday) to set up rooms. Since, myself and another teacher have the most experience at our school our principal has asked us to work through the summer to assist in ordering new furniture, curriculum, and assist him with interviewing new staff. I work at a Charter school and our numbers for next year have doubled. We have to hire at least 12 new teachers. The week of my August Trip, I will be training all those new teachers in the program that we use at our school. The training is three days long, so I will be pretty busy this summer.

I read about your day! I'm sure it was fun and tiring. Brooklynn had two birthday parties today, and she crashed in the car on the way home. Jill said she was just taking her straight to her bed when they got home.

I had to take a nap when I got home from Science Olympiad, too, so I understand how Brooklyn felt.

Looking forward to Brooklyn opening the box.

Sounds like we are having the exact same kind of weather today!

Beach Party Wednesday sounds like fun -- actually anything that gets us one day closer to Friday sounds like fun! :rotfl:

The Aero bar is interesting. It sort of just fell apart into little shreds when I opened the end. I tasted a couple of bites. It is fudgy and melts in your mouth quickly. It does taste good!

Food, snakes... I'm good.

It is the bubbles in the Aero bar that make it interesting.

I have never had poutine from a package, I think I will still to the restaurant version.

Morning MeMom.

Wow, Megablocks was up really early, I was sleeping like a baby at that time.

Okay, we have to talk....the snake thing is getting out of hand. Now I am faced with a close up pic.....I may have to find a new TR if this keeps up....:scared1: I thought we were friends....:lmao:

declansdad I couldn't send the real poutine (too messy), so I sent a packet mix for the gravy part. It has a pic of poutine on it so she could see what we talk about. I know she has no intention of eating it, I was just looking for a laugh. ;)
I just may have to go to the Chip wagon today and have one with a POGO, just cause I can. Yummy! (for our American friends a POGO is like a corn dog only better.)

I have grocery shopping to do today, and maybe a day trip to good old USA. :woohoo:

I'm off tomorrow because it's our Victoria Day! Yippee! Happy Bday for our Queen! :bday:

They actually call it "twofour weekend" here. Refers to a 24 case of beer, I think. Maybe declansdad can explain better. :goodvibes

OMG MeMom you guys go back to school on the 10th?! Of August?! We don't start for at least another month up here so I guess that makes up for the month you end early. My birthday is August 4th and I can't imagine having had to go right back to school after it! It's so hot down there in the summer so wouldn't it make sense to just hold the students longer when its cooler and then them be home the month of August when its sweltering?:confused3
