A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Wow! The picture of the lion is awesome! I'll brb with the pictures I took last Friday and my review of Earth.

OK...first things first: Earth is TOTALLY AWESOME DUDE!!!! :hippie: The cinematography is just spectacular. They have some amazing footage of the various areas of the world and of the animals. MeMom: I wouldn't take Brooklyn to see this. The scenes where the animals are being...well...animals...aren't gory but I can see where they might be upsetting to a young child. I explained to Hannah before the movie that it's about nature and animals and that there may be some parts where an animal gets "hurt". She figured out what I meant by that and said she would be OK. The first scene of an animal being chased and killed she covered her eyes. She was fine through the rest of the movie. Well, except for the scene where there was LOTS of running water. You can probably see where this is going...Mommy! I need to go potty! :lmao: So we missed maybe 10-15 minutes of the movie. I'd pay to go back and see it again just to catch that 10-15 minutes! LOL

Here's some of my animal pictures from last Friday:

I am looking forward to your movie review. My dh and I are attending a 60th anniversary party for his aunt and uncle in Ky this weekend, but maybe we can see the movie next week.

I am senting wishes that this year will be your last year of testing.
The good news is the rest of the year the student can just have fun learning, and you can have fun teaching, without the test hanging over your head.

Enjoy your time in The Bluegrass State. Jill and her gang will be up there this weekend visiting John's parents, and then they'll stop here for a few hours on the way back to AL on Sunday.

All of the teachers look forward to being able to loosen up and do some fun things with the kids during the last weeks. It gives us the chance to see the kids in a different light, and it is so nice and relaxed.

Amazing pictures. I have never seen the Lion doing anything other than sleeping. Thanks for sharing.

We have been fortunate enough to see him up a couple of times, but that picture is the best I've ever gotten. I was pretty thrilled, I can tell ya!

I wish I was there to celebrate too! xoktnox is there right now as you know!

I sure hope she went to Animal Kingdom. She probably isn't into that park as much as I am, though, so she may not have, but if I was in WDW on Earth Day, there is no doubt in the world where I'd be!

I'm going over to the PTR after this to check for updates to see what she's been doing.

I love all the nature pictures! Happy earth day to you too!

It really makes me long to be on a safari again. I would be happy to start every day in Disney off with a safari, because every 'two week' journey is different.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. I know you had a great time!
It seems so different to see barns and cages, doesn't it, after being used to Animal Kingdom? I'm not used to a giraffe being in front of a barn! :)

I'm looking forward to our field trip to the Nashville Zoo next week, but I know I will be comparing it (in my mind, not out loud) to AK. It's a good zoo, though, and we will have fun.

I'm so glad to hear that you liked the movie. I hope it is as good as I think it is going to be. I won't have to worry about little ones, but I will be aware of the ones around me, and I'll see how they react. That will help me judge about taking Brooklynn. I'll have the chance to preview and note where the less than happy scenes are, and then if we decide to take her, we can work out potty and drink breaks accordingly. I think it would be cool if a Disneynature movie was the first theater movie she went to. It's Disney, and she loves animals, so the combination would be perfect. Her first movie has to be a Disney one, and this one is a Disney first, so that would be the perfect one for Disney dorks like us who think little facts like that are cool. I hope that it will work out that this one will be her first theater movie, anyway. Not that I don't think UP! or something else will be good, but I don't know that it is historical in a Disney sense like Earth is.

I picture her writing on the Disboards in years to come and saying how she was two years old and got to see the very first Disneynature movie as her first movie ever.

I'm weird like that. :goodvibes

Love that picture of the tiger looking straight at the camera! We hope to see the tigers this year -- we have never managed to do any of the walking trails at AK.

Memom, Love all the nature pictures. I can't believe some of the good close-ups you got of the animals. And as always, Disney has such beautiful flowers. Thanks for sharing and happy Earth Day! :flower3:

WOW! The pic of the lion is terrific! What a sight! :thumbsup2

Lexi was amazed at the tiger pics. ;)

One of my hibiscus plants is the yellow one, so beautiful.
The pink one is just gorgeous!

I could look at flower pics all day, I'm going to be on a mission to pay more attention to the scenery at WDW this time.
You have inspired me, to slow down and look at the roses....;)

Have a wonderful day, testing is going to be over!!!

Hi, jillyb thanks for sharing your pics.

I love the parrots, they are one of my favorites.

I had no idea a peacock could climb a tree....:rotfl2:

Looks like a fun place and the animals look great. :thumbsup2

Brooklynn will be glad to know you saw her balloon. Jill said she asked about it first the the next morning - if it was going over your house.

this is so sweet!!!!! thanks for making me smile today. :)

How is Brooklynn doing? BTW I seen the pics at the beginning and you looked FANTASTIC!!!!! I bet your a little tiny thing again!!!!!

Yeah...it was a bit jarring to see the giraffes behind a fence. :sad1: Nowhere near as wonderful as Animal Kingdom but will have to do until we can go back. I find that now that I've been to WDW I compare everything to that. Hannah does it too. I'm sure my DH just rolls his eyes. LOL It's amazing how you can say "this is just like (fill in the blank) at WDW!"; except for the fact that WDW is a million billion gazillion times better!

I hope that after you see the movie that you'll think Brooklyn would be OK with seeing it. I agree with everything you said about her seeing the film in the theater and that it would be cool if years later she was talking about it here. I'm weird like that too! LOL

We'll meet you at the pool! Brooklynn is doing wonderful she is definitely a lot bigger than the summer you saw her. Isabella was born April 5th so this Sunday she will be 3 weeks old. Let the POP countdown begin. It's almost time to make ADR's!!!!!

I am just reading your TR right now....did not bet to the part where you have had Bellarie...but am very close...3mths tomorrow for us and 3 mths Sat for you guys. So who is going?

CONGRATS BY THE WAY!!!!!! 4 more and you will be caught up with me....:rotfl2:

The next 3 months are going to fly for sure. This summer will be MeMom, me, John, Brooklynn, and Isabella for the whole trip. Trent and his friend Jarvis are coming from Tuesday to Sunday. Drew may or may not come we don't know.

Thanks for the congrats. I know MeMom would love for me to catch up to you, but I do not see that in my future we might have one more but that is it.

I can't believe that I was 10 pages behind! You have such a following of good friends. I'm glad that I didn't miss much. whew!
When I saw the picture of the manatae, I wanted to start singing the Veggie Tale song, Barbara Manatae, manatae, you are the one for me...

More gorgeous pictures! Is that a Monarch garden? We're going to take my daughter Morghan and her friends to a butterfly house for her birthday next month. It should be lots of fun. I love butterflies! :)

Love that picture of the tiger looking straight at the camera! We hope to see the tigers this year -- we have never managed to do any of the walking trails at AK.

I love to watch the tigers, especially when they are romping around and playing with each other.

Yep, put the trails on your list. Connor will enjoy seeing the tigers and gorillas, won't he?

I got lucky on some, and I'm glad that I did. I'd be snap-happy if I had a big old awesome camera with a super zoom lens!

I do enjoy noticing the little things, but time constraints keep a lot of people from being able to do that.

This is the last day of testing. They are finishing the SS part, so I came over to peek in here.

Love your latest nature photos, MeMom. The lion pic is fantastic!

He sure does look like the king, doesn't her? So powerful looking!

this is so sweet!!!!! thanks for making me smile today. :)

She's pretty good at making me smile, too.

I had no idea either! LOL It was a really fun place.

Thanks again for the pictures!

We compare, too. Nothing ever comes close, but it's still nice to have those 'lesser' things close to home.

I hope it'll be good for Brooklynn, too, because she loves animals. We can give it a try, anyway, and if she can't make it the whole time, at least she will have seen some of it.

3 months from Saturday. Awesome! I will celebrate that by going to see Disneynature's Earth. Yay! :cool1:

Thanks for the congrats. I know MeMom would love for me to catch up to you, but I do not see that in my future we might have one more but that is it.

I never said anythig about you catching up with 5boyz. I want you to beat her! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Chelsea, too -- both my children are animal lovers. I am also putting the Conservation Station on the list -- we've never been there either, and I am hoping to get there early enough that we can watch some vet procedures.

See...I have to draw the line where blood and guts are going to be seen. :rotfl:
