I am looking forward to your movie review. My dh and I are attending a 60th anniversary party for his aunt and uncle in Ky this weekend, but maybe we can see the movie next week.
I am senting wishes that this year will be your last year of testing.
The good news is the rest of the year the student can just have fun learning, and you can have fun teaching, without the test hanging over your head.
Enjoy your time in The Bluegrass State. Jill and her gang will be up there this weekend visiting John's parents, and then they'll stop here for a few hours on the way back to AL on Sunday.
All of the teachers look forward to being able to loosen up and do some fun things with the kids during the last weeks. It gives us the chance to see the kids in a different light, and it is so nice and relaxed.
Amazing pictures. I have never seen the Lion doing anything other than sleeping. Thanks for sharing.
We have been fortunate enough to see him up a couple of times, but that picture is the best I've ever gotten. I was pretty thrilled, I can tell ya!
I wish I was there to celebrate too! xoktnox is there right now as you know!
I sure hope she went to Animal Kingdom. She probably isn't into that park as much as I am, though, so she may not have, but if I was in WDW on Earth Day, there is no doubt in the world where I'd be!
I'm going over to the PTR after this to check for updates to see what she's been doing.
I love all the nature pictures! Happy earth day to you too!
It really makes me long to be on a safari again. I would be happy to start every day in Disney off with a safari, because every 'two week' journey is different.
Wow! The picture of the lion is awesome! I'll brb with the pictures I took last Friday and my review of Earth.
OK...first things first: Earth is TOTALLY AWESOME DUDE!!!!

The cinematography is just spectacular. They have some amazing footage of the various areas of the world and of the animals. MeMom: I wouldn't take Brooklyn to see this. The scenes where the animals are being...well...animals...aren't gory but I can see where they might be upsetting to a young child. I explained to Hannah before the movie that it's about nature and animals and that there may be some parts where an animal gets "hurt". She figured out what I meant by that and said she would be OK. The first scene of an animal being chased and killed she covered her eyes. She was fine through the rest of the movie. Well, except for the scene where there was LOTS of running water. You can probably see where this is going...Mommy! I need to go potty!

So we missed maybe 10-15 minutes of the movie. I'd pay to go back and see it again just to catch that 10-15 minutes! LOL
Thank you for sharing your pictures. I know you had a great time!
It seems so different to see barns and cages, doesn't it, after being used to Animal Kingdom? I'm not used to a giraffe being in front of a barn!
I'm looking forward to our field trip to the Nashville Zoo next week, but I know I will be comparing it (in my mind, not out loud) to AK. It's a good zoo, though, and we will have fun.
I'm so glad to hear that you liked the movie. I hope it is as good as I think it is going to be. I won't have to worry about little ones, but I will be aware of the ones around me, and I'll see how they react. That will help me judge about taking Brooklynn. I'll have the chance to preview and note where the less than happy scenes are, and then if we decide to take her, we can work out potty and drink breaks accordingly. I think it would be cool if a Disneynature movie was the first theater movie she went to. It's Disney, and she loves animals, so the combination would be perfect. Her first movie has to be a Disney one, and this one is a Disney first, so that would be the perfect one for Disney dorks like us who think little facts like that are cool. I hope that it will work out that this one will be her first theater movie, anyway. Not that I don't think
UP! or something else will be good, but I don't know that it is historical in a Disney sense like
Earth is.
I picture her writing on the Disboards in years to come and saying how she was two years old and got to see the very first Disneynature movie as her first movie ever.
I'm weird like that.
