A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

Thanks for posting all of the gorgeous pictures in honor of Earth Day. :goodvibes I am rethinking my decision to not go see Earth at the theater now that I've heard such good things about it. :thumbsup2

hi gang.... I am finally all caught up. I really like the earth day pictures. I am leaving for Disney tomorrow. I cannot wait. This is going to be a low key weekend. I am going to get my annual pass and maybe hit a couple of parks. I am planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon on Saturday. I cannot wait!
After seeing your pictures, I might have to stop at AK for a bit.

Chelsea, too -- both my children are animal lovers. I am also putting the Conservation Station on the list -- we've never been there either, and I am hoping to get there early enough that we can watch some vet procedures.

I think you will like it both as a mom and a teacher. There are some interesting things to see, and you'll enjoy watching the kids as they look around at all the cool stuff. Hopefully, you'll get to see some vet procedure being done. Most are in the morning, so plan that for early. There are Hidden Mickeys in the wall mural, too, so they can look for them.

See...I have to draw the line where blood and guts are going to be seen. :rotfl:

We haven't seen blood and guts yet - just check-ups and non-gory procedures.

:rotfl: The race is on!

I have a feeling 5boyz is going to be the winner. I wanted 5 or more kids, but Jill doesn't. I'm just being one of those parents who project their own wishes onto their kids. ;)

I hope you guys will see it. I bet your boys would enjoy it. I'll let you know about it on Saturday, and I can have a better idea about what age groups might enjoy it.

Lucky you! :woohoo:
You should at least go to AK and do a safari, since you've got an AP.

I'll think about you on Saturday. I hope the weather is perfect for a day at Typhoon Lagoon!

Back to the trip:

High School Musical was playing again.

We probably shopped some more.

Then we saw Little Mermaid.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK147.jpg

I missed Brooklynn a lot here, since she's crazy about Little Mermaid.

Mean old Ursula was as evil as ever.

But good triumphed over bad, a kiss was exchanged, and all was well under and around the sea.

We had our Fastpasses for Tower of Terror from earlier in the day, but we decided we'd rather go on to Downtown Disney. I took a picture of them as a momento of the day we were there, and then I gave them away to a young couple.

The girl seemed to be appreciative, but the guy was obviously more excited about them. I hope that helped their evening be a little easier by being able to walk on that.

Guess who I thought of when I took this picture.

Another bag.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK153.jpg

On our way out, we walked through here real quickly.

Notice the hat balloon.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK155.jpg

We headed back to Pop to freshen up and then go Downtown. Kay was hungry, so we went ahead and just got something to eat there and sat out by the computer pool to eat.

Here is a picture of our food, along with some souvenir cups and buckets I had bought at Hollywood Studios. They are cheap, practical souvenirs, so I almost always get these.

The sandwich was good, but it's pretty big, so I couldn't eat it all.

This is the view from where we sat.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK158.jpg

In a short time, we were in DTD.

First stop, Twelve Days of Christmas.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK162.jpg

Another bag - appropriate for this week.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK159.jpg

I think I showed a picture of these earlier from another store.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK160.jpg

I must have thought they were cute.

Peter and Alice.

I thought this little fella was cute.

Yes, I take pictures of very weird things.

That's it for now. More Downtown Disney coming next time.

Did you buy the souvenir buckets filled with popcorn?? We got one on this trip - I love the popcorn at WDW! :goodvibes

I am eagerly anticipating your movie review. My older DD's first movie was Rattiouie-sp and we had to leave cause she was scared. She wants to see Earth but wants to know if it is scary. She has seen some movies-Disney and is ok.
Great pics- appreciate seeing all the fun things to buy.

I can't believe that I was 10 pages behind! You have such a following of good friends. I'm glad that I didn't miss much. whew!
When I saw the picture of the manatae, I wanted to start singing the Veggie Tale song, Barbara Manatae, manatae, you are the one for me...

We do have good buddies around here!

I think Brooklynn has a few Veggie Tales movies. I'll have to see if she knows that song.

More gorgeous pictures! Is that a Monarch garden? We're going to take my daughter Morghan and her friends to a butterfly house for her birthday next month. It should be lots of fun. I love butterflies! :)

Yep. Have you ever been to Flower and Garden Festival? They have a covered walkway that has these plastic chain doorways, and it's full of butterflies, and then there are more butterfly gardens spread around, too.

Yeah, I got the popcorn. I poured it out before we left and packed things in the empty buckets. I use them at school for crayons, markers, pencils, scissors, etc. and at home for odds and ends.

That is so cool AND clever!

It was different not seeing the YOAMD signs.

I'll do my best to give an honest review.

Shopping with my camera - it's fun to see the goods in real life, and then look at them again and again in pictures.

Thanks for the tips -- we will definitely plan on Conservation Station early and look for those Hidden Mickeys.

Oh, wow, imagine my delight to find that yet another incarnation of HSM3 is playing (not!). I am sure we will see bits and pieces of about five of those shows since I think they play them once an hour.

I love the shopping pics! I never get tired of DIS shopping with MeMom! :thumbsup2

So I think I am in love! I love the Peter Pan ornament.... that just might be Luke's first ornament.... who does not want to have a boy who has spirit like Peter Pan!

Thanks for the Little Mermaid pics! DH has never seen it, so it was nice to be able to show him some pictures of what to expect! I'm sorry you missed Brooklynn on this, but, how long until you are viewing this with her and the rest of your family?!!

I have to say again, that your merchandise/shopping pictures never fail to put a smile on my face! How did you know that they were especially needed this week?:confused3

Can't wait to hear your review of Earth! We were talking about movies to see after graduation, and I hope this will still be showing.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK161.jpg

Yes, I take pictures of very weird things.

that's why i love your TRs. ;)

Great update and piccies!
I am so torn between whether or not to keep reading on here - it feels like my heart breaks everytime I see something that I love and remember it'll be AGES before we get to go again!!!
I am trying to persuade my family to do a Disneyland Paris trip for my 30th in August but its not the same!!!
Can't you adopt me so I can come and visit and go with you soon??? :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good weekend and may I say "Happy Baby Due Date" to me!

Did you really think so? We were in there last summer and I thought they had many cool items in there. I don't think I would buy a lot of it but I'm not really a collector.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is yet another thing I haven't done at HS. Of all the parks, that's probably the one I've explored the least. Probably because I can never get my DH off of ToT and RnR! (He's a thrill ride junkie!)

Your meal at Pop looked quite yummy! I really enjoyed the Pop food court when we stayed there. :thumbsup2

I thought this little fella was cute.

disney3-18-09beginningHSAK163.jpg

He is adorable and I wish he lived at my house. I think John would protest if I bring another stuffed animal into the house.

We always get popcorn buckets. We use them for all kinds of things around the house and they remind us of our happy place for a relatively cheap price.

Great update and piccies!

Happy due date! Hope the little one comes soon, healthy and happy! I'm pretty sure that with Disboard adoption MeMom is now the proud Mom of about 20 and the MeMom to 15 so one more won't be that noticeable!

this was in december so maybe they had changed it up a little? i just remember thinking how i didn't see anything that great in there. but this was at night as we were leaving the park and my brain could have not been working right at that point!
