A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

I would love to add Earth Day to my list of special days to be in Disney World, but that one is going to be difficult, since it falls in or around testing times. One day, it will fall just right, and I will happily spend Earth Day in Animal Kingdom. You will know when that day comes, because you'll feel my happiness 'vibes' :goodvibes wherever you are.

Happy Earth Day...
and Happy Birthday, Animal Kingdom!

HOw about when you retire...you could go then! But you;d probably only go if Jill would be able to go...but she can just plan it around her next maternity leave since she is an on the go mommy!:)

Happy Earth Day!!

I would LOVE to go see Disney Earth, but alas, too many papers to write. I'm suffering from major senioritis and Disney withdrawals! You'll have to post a review of the movie.

Hope the testing goes/went well. When will you know the results?

Your pictures are great! I hope I can get some good animal pictures in 26 days!!

Happy Earth Day! The pics this week have been so pretty, thanks so much! Won't it be fun to teach after testing is done... we have a field trip planned, biography projects, biography reports, realistic fiction writing, field day- I had forgotten it could be fun!

More great pictures! I just love Animal Kingdom. *sigh* We saw "the" bunny several times during our stay at Pop last June. The girls were always on the look out for it. LOL

We did a local version of Animal Kingdom last Friday during Spring Break at a place called Lazy 5 Ranch. They have all types of animals and you can either drive your car through (don't recommend this because the anmials come right up to your vehicle and many people have had their vehicles damaged) or you can take a wagon ride. We went with a group of friends and did the wagon ride. It was my first time there and we had a great time! I got some really cool pictures!

I'm taking Hannah to see Earth today after school and can't wait to see it!

Happy Earth Day! And Happy Birthday to Animal Kingdom! Wow, how old is it now? 11? I think it opened in 1998...but let me know if I'm wrong!

That bunny in the first picture is ADORABLE!

Happy Earth Day!

I just love Disney Bunnies. I think they are even cuter on Disney property than in real life. ;)

Happy Earth Day!! I may have to borrow your idea for my pre-trip!! THanks for the wonderful pics as always :)

Happy Earth Day! Happy Birthday AK! I was excited to see its birthday on my Disney calendar this morning. Lovely shots MeMom. Someday you will get to spend Earth Day in AK. I just know it. :goodvibes

I think you are right that it was 1998. I remember because we were there in April 1998 and I remember that we could have gone to a soft opening of the park since we were staying on property but my parents thought animals were just going to be out walking around with the guests and didn;t want to go!:rotfl: They will be very excited to go in Feb since they now know that the animals are not going to get them!:lmao:

Memom, I hope the rest of your week goes quickly. Enjoy seeing your movie Saturday with Trent. I usually wait for everything to come out on video because I am too cheap to pay to go to the theater. But, I did take my kids to see the Hannah Montana movie last week and we really enjoyed it.

Have you ever looked at moviemom.com? She gives reviews of new and old movies and rates them according to what age it is appropriate for. It is a great site for future reference. However, I am looking forward to movieMeMom's review of Disney Earth. Glad that Trent is going with you.

I have not seen the reviews, but it's good to know about that forum. I'll happily give you a review when I get back on Saturday. :)

MeMom, I can't wait to hear what you think of the movie.

I'm very excited about going. It has brightened up my whole week!

this is my feeble attempt at playing catch-up. i'm so swamped right now with work that i literally don't have the TIME to come on here and read my TRs!!!! so i'm having to do them one by one when i get a few minutes here and there.

notice i'm going backwards because that's how my life has been lately! ;)

i waved as brooklynn's balloon floated over my house!

excellent picture!

i'd probably like your teacher friend. :stir:

erica and i met this guy at the adventurer's club in september. (R.I.P.)

i have the purple one - love it!

I'm behind on reports and I haven't been out of town for the whole weekend, so don't worry about it. I just hope you're enjoying the nature pictures. I get a renewed sense of peace and simplicity when I see the animals just going about their lives without a care.

Brooklynn will be glad to know you saw her balloon. Jill said she asked about it first the the next morning - if it was going over your house.

I can see you wearing that shirt! I can also see my teacher friend wearing it.
You guys would get along. You are both 'divas' with a lot of energy.

Yay Trent for being a sweetie and taking you to the movie!:yay:

After a week of testing I'm sure you'll enjoy it even more. :headache:

He's a good boy. Young man, I guess I should say.
I don't know that he could have picked a better week to surprise me.

So sweet of Trent to take you to see it! I wanted to take the kids this weekend (despite the possibility of tears from me), but between a sleepover for Chelsea and a friend's baby shower, it may have to be the weekend after this one.

Good luck tomorrow -- how appropriate that the science portion is going to be on Earth Day! Day 3 for us and it is mathematics. It will last forever I am sure.

Studying about animals in Science is about the best I can do at school today to be close to AK. This evening, I predict that I will have to youtube a safari and the trails so I can 'be there' in a little better way.

Aww...that is so sweet of Trent! What a wonderful son you have!

Good luck with the testing...I know you will be glad when that is over! I HATED testing week and I'm glad I don't have to do it anymore!

I'm glad you don't have to do it any more either. I hope I never have to do it again!

Beautiful Nature pictures!
You've got a lot of great AK photos!

I love flower photos so I am really enjoying those.

Good Luck with your testing.
I hope you can move to a lower grade next year.
3rd grade must be the worst for testing because its their first time.
I remember how nervous Hannah was during the tests in third grade.
She has relaxed a bit each year.

What a sweet son you have! As my family keeps growing, I am realizing more and more how special those one on one moments are with each of my children. I bet as they get to be adults that becomes even more the case.

So, you are half there on the testing! That has to be a relief for everyone. I found that once we were to that point of testing week, it was pretty much smooth sailing.

Yep, one on one time with each of my kids is important and special. The older they get, it gets harder because of schedules, but there is always fun and laughter when we are together.

One more day of testing.

Boy that Trent sure is a nice guy! I just checked out pluggedinonline and they give Earth really good reviews. But I will still be waiting for Memom's opinion. We had tcaps last week, and DD is so glad they are over!

I haven't seen that review. I will be happy to tell you what I think on Saturday evening. I'm very excited!

That's so sweet of Trent! :goodvibes I really want to see that film, too! :thumbsup2

He's a sweet guy, but he likes to think he's tough. ;)

:bounce: HAPPY EARTH DAY! :bounce:

Good luck on Day 3 of testing......:shamrock:

Great pics of all the animals (thank you for not including a "sssss")

Your flower pics are always so beautiful.
I have several hibiscus plants and today they have the most beautiful blooms.

My favorite pic is of the palm tree from up under...super cool shot!

You are a very lucky lady to have such a fantastic son! He is so thoughtful, be sure to let us know how great the movie is.

:thumbsup2 REMEMBER DIS FRIENDS...TAKE CARE OF THIS EARTH CAUSE IT'S THE ONLY ONE WE GOT... WITH A DISNEYWORLD!!! :thumbsup2

I do have a "sssss" I could show.
And a tarantula, if you are interested.

You know I love palm trees!

HOw about when you retire...you could go then! But you;d probably only go if Jill would be able to go...but she can just plan it around her next maternity leave since she is an on the go mommy!:)

That's if Jill is still having babies when I retire.
I've got a long way to go!

Happy Earth Day!!

I would LOVE to go see Disney Earth, but alas, too many papers to write. I'm suffering from major senioritis and Disney withdrawals! You'll have to post a review of the movie.

Your pictures are great! I hope I can get some good animal pictures in 26 days!!

I will tell you all about it on Saturday, but I'll put warnings for anyone who doesn't want to read about it before they see it.

Sometimes we get test results before the end of the year, but since it was so late this year, it'll probably be later in the summer.

Happy Earth Day! The pics this week have been so pretty, thanks so much! Won't it be fun to teach after testing is done... we have a field trip planned, biography projects, biography reports, realistic fiction writing, field day- I had forgotten it could be fun!

We're going to the zoo next Wednesday. That will be fun.
I'll pretend I'm in AK!

Field Day is May 8th.
I'm feeling the end of the year excitement!

Brooklynn loves to walk out and find bunnies in the mornings at Pop.
Such a sweet and simple time that thrills her!

Show us some of your animal pictures, please.

I can't wait to hear your review of the movie. It's cool that you are going on opening day-Earth Day-Animal Kingdom birthday!

Happy Earth Day! And Happy Birthday to Animal Kingdom! Wow, how old is it now? 11? I think it opened in 1998...but let me know if I'm wrong!

That bunny in the first picture is ADORABLE!

Eleven - that's correct.
I wish I could have been there to celebrate today.
I really, really wish I had gone for the ten year celebration last year.

Happy Earth Day!

I just love Disney Bunnies. I think they are even cuter on Disney property than in real life. ;)

Of course, they are.
In real life, they don't let you get close enough to see them, either, but Disney bunnies are so used to people that they just about let you touch them!

Happy Earth Day!! I may have to borrow your idea for my pre-trip!! THanks for the wonderful pics as always :)

This was me, MeMom logged under the wrong username!!

Man, I thought we had another new reader, and then I find out you are playing tricks. Could you just go ahead and play like it's not you, and I can pretend we have a new friend? :rotfl:

Happy Earth Day! Happy Birthday AK! I was excited to see its birthday on my Disney calendar this morning. Lovely shots MeMom. Someday you will get to spend Earth Day in AK. I just know it. :goodvibes

We love our Disney calendars, too! It's fun to see when certain things started. And yes, someday I will spend Earth Day in AK. Maybe I'll go for the 20th BD celebration.

Your parents passed up a golden opportunity! How cool would it have been to be one of the first to see that park?!?!? I'm glad they can now go and enjoy it without fear of being eaten.

Caleb will love seeing the animals!

I don't go to movies, either, so this is a big deal for me. Trent just pulled this one from out of nowhere!

I've heard good things about the Hannah Montana movie. I'm sure I'll see it on video.

Beautiful Nature pictures!

3rd grade must be the worst for testing because its their first time.
I remember how nervous Hannah was during the tests in third grade.
She has relaxed a bit each year.

This year is the first time they are using the scan sheets, too. Before, they have been able to bubble in the answers in the book. If they misalign one answer on the scan sheets, it could throw the whole thing off, so that really worries me.

I hope to be talking about the adventures of first or second graders next year. :)

I am looking forward to your movie review. My dh and I are attending a 60th anniversary party for his aunt and uncle in Ky this weekend, but maybe we can see the movie next week.

I am senting wishes that this year will be your last year of testing.
The good news is the rest of the year the student can just have fun learning, and you can have fun teaching, without the test hanging over your head.

And the last nature pictures to go along with our Earth Day thoughts for this week:
