A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

OOH what great pictures...I was able in May with LL catch this parade and get some pictures I want to see the whole thing in Sept!!! I'm sure Brooklynn is going to have a blast at the parade!

The parade pictures were great. I can't wait to see pictures of Brooklyn dancing in the street.

I will need to add the parade to my list. My list is growing. I can't believe all the things I have added to try this time I was just there with nieces and nephews in January for a short trip. I guess it was too short. Then, that is what makes Disney so magical every trip is different.

I am cracking up over the party beads Mr. Incredible is wearing!

Are you thinking of "Jingle All the Way"?

Me too! I saw that picture and said "He's wearing Mardi Gras beads!!" :rotfl: :rotfl:

The parade looks like lots of fun. I hope it's still going on by the time we get to go back. But, if not, I suppose there's always YouTube!

MeMom and CP: thanks for joining in on my PTR. :goodvibes

Hi, DIS friends I have something unfortunate to report. I have to cancel our trip, it's so dissapointing. :sad1: I guess it just wasn't meant to be this year. No matter how much I wanted it to.

It is heart breaking and I had to take a few days off from the DIS, to feel sorry for myself. ;)

I am okay now, and will look forward to a trip next year.

I havn't decided when....because I work in retail I can't take a holiday from October to January. February is no good until after Valentines Day. Maybe April (Lexi & Aaron's bday), May (F&G Festival) or August (free dinning).

*******:tink:*******

I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. :sad1: I know how disappointed you feel.

Sorry to hear about your trip being canceled.

We'll have to help her through this with extra good pictures until she gets to go. :goodvibes

it's okay with me to show pics of fake birds at the tiki room because i always enjoy my naps there. :lmao:

i'm looking forward to pics/videos of this! :goodvibes

I will not tell a lie: I thought of you when I was visiting the Tiki birds!

I can picture her now. Her little face will be so serious and he dancing will be so not serious!

I'm so sorry, CanadianWDWFan! That stinks!

I am headed over, Jilly!

That's a simple way to put it, CP!

I guess Connor was your inspiration for that.

Ok!!!! I am now officially caught up! I can't believe how far behind I let myself get! But I'll tell ya what, I have completely and totally enjoyed spending the evening catching up on your trip and your beautiful family! :)

I guess real life obligations call to us too often to stay caught up. It is easy to fall behind. Glad you enjoyed the afternoon of Disney fun through our pictures. :)

Okay so I'm very very late to this TR, so I hope its okay for me to sneak in!! I love friend trips to Disney!!! I've read a few of the chapters and will spend a lot of tomorrow catching up I just wanted to say what I have read so far has been FANTASTIC!!

You don't have to sneak in. Just come on in and make yourself at home.

The friends trip was fun, but it a very different trip than a family trip. I think I was just missing my girls too much to fully let myself enjoy it.

Fantastic may be overrating us, but thanks for the compliment!

I know she will!

I saw that, too! I figured he was celebrating Mardi Gras!

Yep, that's it, and the kid's name was Jamie.
Trent came home and I asked him. He remembered right away.
Every once in a while he is good for something.

I know the feeling. Every time I read a report, I think, "Oh, we have to try that, see that, or do that!"
We need a three week trip to get it all in.

I hope it's still there, too.
Too bad they can't keep all the old things and still add the new things, too. Like keep Stars and Cars Motor Parade and add Block Party Bash. Keep Tarzan and Lion King. Keep Pocahontas, Mr. Toad, and Tapestry of Dreams.

Yeah, I'm greedy. :)

I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip. :sad1: I know how disappointed you feel.

See, CanadianWDWfan, you have lots of DIS pals to help you through. :grouphug:

That's a simple way to put it, CP!

I guess Connor was your inspiration for that.

Connor would probably say, "That's a rip off!" Anytime he doesn't agree with something or thinks something is unfair, that's what he says. :lmao:

Trent came home and I asked him. He remembered right away.

I am so glad Trent is earning his keep! :rotfl:

Love the parade pictures! We saw a short snippet of it and it looked really neat. I think Hannah would have enjoyed seeing the whole thing, but she was on a mission to get to Splash Mt. at that point and didn't want to stop to watch.

Whatever happened to Sinbad? Jingle All The Way was one of the few Christmas movies that my brother and I actually could agree to watch during the Holiday season....along with the Home Alone movies but of course.

Jen and I caught the tail end of the Move It parade, it was cute. I still want to see the "regular" MK parade. It's on the list!

That looks like a fun parade. The rain rain rain coming down down down prevented much of the parading on our May trip. Is it just me, or is that an interesting mix of characters? Not your standard princess and villain fare. Just some good ol' characters. I'm rambling - sorry. Can't wait for more. :surfweb:

Okay, do they do the parade more than once a day right now. I am pretty sure it was going around the main street loop earlier in the days...I am getting confused now.

I have never done Tiki Birds or gone in the Treehouse. I bought the Swiss Family Robinson movie for us to watch. I loved it when I was a kid. If my kids like it, we may be climbing into the treehouse next time. I don't know about the Tiki birds though, I have heard so many bad reviews about that show.

That parade looks very colorful and full of energy, but I am afraid I like "classic" parades better. I am sure kids love it though.

Awww, thanks so much janloz, Happy Elf, Charleston Princess, jillyb, and MeMom!

I really do appreciate all of your support, it means a lot to have such kind DIS friends. :grouphug:

I know it will soften the blow to be able to see all of your trips and the many pics to come.

I get so much joy from these boards, I couldn't stay away. ;)

I was worried about telling my kids, but they were great about it.
I'll struggle with the guilt for a little while and then I'll let it go.

I have looked at going to a few other places closer. There's an amusement park in Toronto and we may go to Niagara Falls.
It won't compare to Disney but it will still be fun.

You asked about Disney on Ice....it came here in March. I'll have to check and see if it's coming again.

The Celebrate parade is just what I needed to see! It looks awesome! I love when they add something new.

You are too sweet but you don't have to send me a care package. Your pics are going to be comfort enough.
I may have to compile a wish list of pics I'd like to see....

I loved that parade! Brooklynn will totally be dancing up a storm (it's not just a Southern phrase! :)) to it! I wish veryyyy much I could be a dancer in the parade too :thumbsup2

We've got a lot of fears represented around here. tinkgurl and I have claustrophobia covered, punkin and xoktenox have birds, you've got heights...anybody else got any fears?

Oh yeah, declansdad has a fear of shopping! :)

Or maybe it's the fear of being caught holding Ma's purse while she's trying stuff on. ;)

Hey now, I have no fear of shopping, just too much shopping. :rotfl2:
And no good husband is afraid to hold his wife's purse (well not anymore anyway). ;)

Connor would probably say, "That's a rip off!" Anytime he doesn't agree with something or thinks something is unfair, that's what he says. :lmao:

I am so glad Trent is earning his keep! :rotfl:

I was stuck on the "that stinks' theme from his visit to CHH.

Trent is a good fella. He is a hard worker at whatever he does.

She's a big girl now, so she was ready to conquer the big stuff!

I have no idea about Sinbad.

We have all of those movies on VHS from long ago. Fun movies!

It does have a lot of different characters. Brooklynn loves old Genie boy and Sebastian, so she will be thrilled!

Okay, do they do the parade more than once a day right now. I am pretty sure it was going around the main street loop earlier in the days...I am getting confused now.

I think they do it a few times - maybe 3 or 4. I'll have to do some research.

I like to try everything once and see for myself. The only things in all of Disney World that I think I wouldn't care to do again are Stitch and Sounds Dangerous.

I do, too, but I wonder if these new interactive parades hold more people in one place for longer, thus thinning the crowds at some of the big attractions. I don't know if they do or not. It was just a thought, since the two newest ones, this and Block Party Bash, are like that.

Mini-trips, Disney parties, youtube, DIS....you can do it all and keep the magic alive at home while you wait! :)

I loved that parade! Brooklynn will totally be dancing up a storm (it's not just a Southern phrase! :)) to it! I wish veryyyy much I could be a dancer in the parade too :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm glad the northerners could understand me! ;)

It wouldn't be a bad job to just dance around with kids all day!

Hey now, I have no fear of shopping, just too much shopping. :rotfl2:

You're a good guy!

:rotfl2: Too funny. I think my DH has that fear as well...

Unless we are shopping for electronics. Then he doesn't care, all is well with the world, he's in the zone.

Great parade pics-it looks like a really fun one. We have never done the afternoon MK parade-we just always seem to forget about it! Maybe someday we'll randomly catch it...or remember. :goodvibes

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got a chuckle out of Mr. Incredible and his Mardi Gras beads!!

It is a very colorful and upbeat parade, so it lends itself to good pictures. :)

I should have remembered a disclaimer for all things electronics, as well as movies and tools.

And fishing stuff.
I never have seen how someone could spend half an hour looking at plastic worms and hooks, but I have witnessed it. Drew.

Mr. Incredible probably doesn't realize how cute he is in his beads! ;)

After the parade, it appears that we went in search of food.
I remember telling Kay what our options were, and she chose:

These were our choices.

disney3-18-09MK198.jpg

Salads in waiting.

disney3-18-09MK199.jpg

This is what we chose.

disney3-18-09MK200.jpg

I got the cheese and she got the veggie one.

Pinocchio Village Haus decor.

The pizza and salad were good, and we enjoyed just sitting and talking, since we rarely see each other to go out to lunch in real life.

Back outside, you know who I was thinking of here.

More shopping.
This was at Pooh's store.

disney3-18-09MK207.jpg

I thought about buying this for Brooklynn.

disney3-18-09MK208.jpg

I think I may have even called Jill from this store. I think maybe I did, but I can't say for sure. I called her a hundred times throughout the trip.

My friend.

Out in the front of the store, there was music.

I can't recall what they were playing, but I remember they were really into it and it was very enjoyable.

Actually, now that I think about it, it seems like maybe I was talking to Jill while they were playing, because I think I held up the phone so she could hear the music.

That's it for now. I have to go buy some luggage (cheap luggage) for the boys to take to WDW.
