A Two Short, Too Different Spring Break Trip (Time to Say Goodbye)

The picture looking down at the water wheel made me go 'Ahhh' outloud-I'm afriad of heights! (except when I'm strapped into a roller coaster...! :lmao:) The treehouse has always looked really cool to me, but we haven't done it yet because we'd have to carry Henry all the way through-in November he was always so squirmy, and by January he was walking, but not well enough to navigate even with holding our hands. So....possibly in September! We've never done the Tiki birds either, but I love that song!

In the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room.......
We love that show!:goodvibes
I loved showing The Swiss Family Robinson video to my 4th graders! Not a single one of them had ever seen it....
Please make sure to have the video camera ready when Brooklynn starts dancing! I can't wait to see her.princess:

Great photos MeMom! I love the new parades at MK and i'm very excited in October for them to "apply" to me because i'll be celebrating!! Do you feel the same about July?

I bet Mark really enjoyed DC, didn't he? Seems like he would be a great age for this. Was this their first trip?

The mommy and baby picture is just precious!

:

They both really enjoyed it, he studied American History at school this year so it meant a lot to him. Sarah was really impressed with the zoo and the museum, she is a sponge at this point and can recite the tour from the American History Museum. :rotfl2: It was their first trip to DC, we wanted to wait until they were old enough to remember it and understand a lot of the history.

The mommy gorilla was taking such good care of her little girl. :lovestruc It was precious to watch, we stood there for about 5 minutes watching them together.

Great job on the parade pictures. Is the parade shorter how than before they changed it? Where there as many characters in the parade as before?

I've actually started on a PTR! :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm not sure if I can post it here on the PTR forum since it's not a WDW vacation. :confused3

Let us know the details so we can check in. I guess it'll be on the Community Board?

Looks like a lot of fun move it, shake it, celebrate it!!

It was cute, and it lasted a long time. Everybody was dancing in the streets!

She is 10 and my son is 15 months. I hope it works out. :0)

I'm sure she will love a mother-daughter trip where she can have you all to herself!

Great pics MeMom...we missed the Tiki Room and I'm thinking both kids would have like it...oh well, there is always next time!

Daisylove, your kids are adorable!

I'm sure they would have. Just start your list for next time! :thumbsup2

Ahhh more birds  Actually, fake ones I can handle so thats ok.

I really loved the new parade at the MK. I love the dancers in the street and being that I danced for 13 years, I'm envious of them because I wish I was doing their job! Brooklynn's going to dance her little feet off with them :thumbsup2

Good, I'm glad fake birds are okay.

You'd be a great CM in that parade, then! They were dancing up a storm!
(That could possible be a southern term. Not sure.)

Yep, Brooklynn will be doing every dance you can imagine, and many that you can't!:cool1::yay:

We've got a lot of fears represented around here. tinkgurl and I have claustrophobia covered, punkin and xoktenox have birds, you've got heights...anybody else got any fears?

Oh yeah, declansdad has a fear of shopping! :)

Or maybe it's the fear of being caught holding Ma's purse while she's trying stuff on. ;)

Sing it, wigd!
I like it, too. I think it's cutesie, and it's a good place to sit down and cool off.

I used to show The Yellowstone Cubs and some other Disney movies, some oldies and goodies, but they won't let us show Disney movies any more. We can only show district approved stuff, and about the only Disney related thing allowed are the Bill Nye shows.

I will be sure to video the little diva dancer girl!

Your new ticker is awesome!

I don't let them know it's my birthday. It's my secret. :)

Jill was tossing around the idea of being there for her birthday, but I think that has changed. We got a card for a new Disney on Ice show that weekend, so we got tickets for that. Then, if we have the money (probably not for me) and the time (probably not for her), we could always take a 3-4 day trip when I have fall break later in the month, the same time our cousins are going to be there. She and John may go or she and I may go. Who knows? Maybe nobody will go.

Cool. I'm glad they got to go.

How sweet with the mommy and baby. I would have enjoyed standing there and watching that interaction, too!

More parade pictures will be coming either later tonight or maybe tomorrow.
This is a different parade than the regular afternoon one. This is just what replaced the Famuly Fun Day Parade, I guess. You can youtube it and see it. It's worth hanging around for, especially if you have kids.

I have a fear of storms, but I can't think of any Disney rides that prevents me from doing -- unless it is storming at the time! :thumbsup2

You got some great photos of the Treehouse -- I wish I would have thought to pull out the camera while we were up there exploring -- maybe next time.

/
Hannah did the treehouse with my parents and loved it. Then she and DH did it too, in fact my mom wants to buy her the movie, but a DVD is headed our way via the library this week!

The new parade looked cute, we never sat to see it just caught it one day! I can't wait to see what I missed.

It's impossible for me to grip the handrails and take pictures, hmmmm wonder if they have some sort of appliance that would allow me to use my teeth to take pictures?

Thanks HappyElf. It was something getting them still enough for the pictures. :0)

MeMom do you know what view your getting at WL. We had a wood view before and as we entered the room for the first time we could see WISHes going off outside the window. You need a woods view towards the water for it.

I am almost as excited for your upcoming trip as I am for my own. lol

Just found a thread here from a dad who took 9,100 pictures on his familys recent trip. It made me think of you. But it is a cool thread if anyone is interested.

I showed it to my non-disney (in fact almost disney-hating) husband because he always complains on how much I photograph. lol He and my DD actually tried to give me a limit of 20 pictures a day(4 only with them posing) That did not last long. :0) You and Jill are so lucky to have a disney loving(accepting) family. Cant wait for the next installment.

Hi, DIS friends I have something unfortunate to report. I have to cancel our trip, it's so dissapointing. :sad1: I guess it just wasn't meant to be this year. No matter how much I wanted it to.

It is heart breaking and I had to take a few days off from the DIS, to feel sorry for myself. ;)

I am okay now, and will look forward to a trip next year.

I havn't decided when....because I work in retail I can't take a holiday from October to January. February is no good until after Valentines Day. Maybe April (Lexi & Aaron's bday), May (F&G Festival) or August (free dinning).

OK...even though there are so many great trip reports going on right now I decided to brave the waters and have started my pre-trip report for our Washington, D.C. trip on the Community Board. The link is in my signature if you'd like to come along for the ride. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your trip being canceled.

it's okay with me to show pics of fake birds at the tiki room because i always enjoy my naps there. :lmao:

This parade was only one month old, so I had never seen it. Brooklynn will love it! She will be dancing like a madwoman in the streets with her Disney friends! :cheer2:

i'm looking forward to pics/videos of this! :goodvibes

Ok!!!! I am now officially caught up! I can't believe how far behind I let myself get! But I'll tell ya what, I have completely and totally enjoyed spending the evening catching up on your trip and your beautiful family! :)

Some of these lately have been pretty hairy scary - the lightning anyway!

The treehouse is a nice place to get out of the crowd. There can be thousands of people on the Magic Kingdom streets, but I've never seen crowds in the treehouse. I'm sure it happens, but I've not seen it.

I hope she likes it. I thought it was so cool even thinking of riding an ostrich!

Parade pictures coming soon.

It's crazy how we all have different fears. I don't mind heights at all. I could run, skip, hop, and climb all over that tree without a thought. Just don't put me under it!

Can I video you going up into the treehouse someday?
Because your description in just sounding like something that might give us a little chuckle.
Sorry, but it is true. ;)

I actually asked for an inner courtyard view, hoping for a nice balcony that looks out on the pool. Whatever we get, we'll be okay, because we can always go and sit anywhere around the resort and have a beautiful view.

I saw that thread. I'll have to go look at his pictures.

20 pictures a day?
All I have to say is :scared1:

The girls in our family love it.
The boys accept it, but only because we feed them well, I think. :)

I am so sorry. We will send you a care package to soften the blow, I promise!
Truthfully, I need to be going either this summer or Christmas, but not both, but I'm not as strong as you. We do have to cut way back, though. At least I do. Jill and John make more than I do, so they can still go more often, if they have the time. I've got to get more realistic. I really had no business booking the Wilderness Lodge for this trip, but this is sort of Trent's graduation present, since I didn't get him anything.

Don't leave us, though. We'll try to give you lots of pictures so that you can look forward to your next trip whenever it might be. You can have some fun Disney parties, too! Does Disney on Ice ever come your way? That's a nice Disney fix, as well.

We will be over there. I've never been, so I will thoroughly enjoy it.

You're so sweet. Good DIS pals rally round in times of trouble. We'll try to make your wait more bearable, CanadianWDWfan.

Okay so I'm very very late to this TR, so I hope its okay for me to sneak in!! I love friend trips to Disney!!! I've read a few of the chapters and will spend a lot of tomorrow catching up I just wanted to say what I have read so far has been FANTASTIC!!

Not really, but that's what I thought of when I saw that picture.
From when Turboman knew the kid's name, which I now have forgotten, in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Christmas movie the name of which I have also forgotten. :)

And I still haven't thought of the name of that movie...or the boy.

Was it Deck the Halls?
There was Sinbad and a reindeer. I remember that much.

This parade came in bright and loud, stopped for a good while and had a wonderful celebration, and then left us all covered in streamers as it went away. It was very cute, and Brooklynn will love dancing to the beat in a few short weeks! :woohoo:
