People talk about the yummy Monte Cristo ( a few have said it was greasy) but I don't think anyone has really given a heads up to what we should steer clear from.

Sometimes it's easier going in to remember what NOT to get rather than all the food that's recommended. What food will you never order again?

we (our group of 6) had read about the monte cristo but all disliked the cheese one. the regular one was good but the other we all disliked. we also did not like the sweet corn tamales or peach cobbler (yuck) at goofy's kitchen.

I LOVE the gumbo over at Cafe Orleans, so I thought gumbo at the Royal Street Veranda must be pretty yummy too, right? WRONG. It's horrible and nothing alike. I'm a fan of clam chowder too, and it's bad here too. I was very disappointed. :(

The chicken pot pie at Ariel's Grotto was not great, the sauce was very salty and had a glue-like texture.

The kid's mac and cheese at Blue Bayou was heinous. I bet it's the same stuff at Ariel's. Nuclear orange and tastes like plastic? DS refused to even take ONE bite, after he took a sniff of it, but we had it boxed to go. Later I tried some and ugh. Ghastly. Threw it away.

If a PP is talking about the vegetarian gumbo at Royal St. Veranda, I can't agree...but if they are talking about the steak gumbo, then I don't know, but my brother and his wife can't agree! :)

For me, I never really need to order the portobello dish at Blue Bayou. DH disagrees.

Neither of us need to get the veggie burger at the Hungry Bear, either.

DH would never get the Cafe Orleans Monte Cristo French Toast. I told him that even self-professed big eaters can't even eat the whole thing, and despite his size he's not a BIG eater, but he didn't believe me, scarfed it, and felt VERY ill later. He didn't even like the taste.:confused3

I know this will be disputable to some, but I found the whole Napa Rose meal to be not that good..very expensive and just flat out not tasty. The best thing was the little palate cleanser sorbet.
I also found the dinner buffet at Storytellers to be lacking. Not very good variety or taste and high price. I'd rather just get a french dip at Whitewater Snacks.

You know, I can contribute nothing to this thread. Everything I've eaten at Disney I've loved! LOL But, my girls hate the Mac N Cheese too, and yes, it was nuclear orange. didn't taste it myself but my DD wouldn't eat it. LOL We ended up asking for something else and had it switched out.

The only food we didnt really care for was the burgers at the Tommorowland Terrace (I think that is what its called). After one bite we each felt there was something wrong with them. We went back up and complained (nicely). They gave us our money back and the option of getting something else, at no charge. They also threw in some complimentary rice crispy treats. So we left there feeling like they really cared. We'll definitely eat there again.

Do not eat anything from the Village Haus except the hot chocolate. Nasty, nasty food. I also would avoid any cs in TT.

my daughter also didnt like the mac n cheese at Ariel's Grotto and usually she loves it.. But also that day she wasnt feeling to well... the only place I can think of is a place off site that we didnt like which was Millie's on Harbor.

This is the place in Fantasy Land, right? I totally agree! We ate dinner there on our second night and it was the first meal that we all felt was extremely disappointing.

I also have to say that the cinnamon roll French toast at the Carnation Cafe was very disappointing. It was too dry and just not appetizing at all.

Is Village Haus the one by Pinocchio? I think. If it is I can still remember going through there for something like a bathroom (are there restrooms INSIDE the eateries?) - or maybe we just went in for cokes or something....it was like 10 yrs ago who knows. ANYWAY I remember THEN thinking, "Ew, that doesn't look good." And I was a starving college student 10 yrs ago!! LOL!

Something that disappointed me was that ALL the lemonade everywhere is diet. And, alot of the places don't tell you that clearly. I can't have artificial sweeteners and I keep my kids away from them because of my reaction. What's even worse is that often the CM's don't realize it and give it to you even after asking "is this diet"?

I've had mixed reactions from the TT. I've had really good food and REALLY bad food.

My kids didn't like any of the pizza they had at DLR. I can't remember everywhere we got it, but Naples was one place. There was someplace fast food that we got it, too. And they're not typically very picky about pizza.

One of our better meals was actually IHOP on Harbor. But, we stay with the safe stuff and get breakfast (whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner).

DD and I have always had great food at Ariels, but haven't tried the mac and cheese.

Zoemakes5, have you guys tried the make-your-own-pizza kid's meal at Paradise Pier? We thought that was very good, and the kids get a paper "toque", chef's hat, for fun. :)

My husband and I didn't like the chicken skewer at Bengal BBQ, friends said after that we should have got the beef or the veggie one!

The mahi mahi at Blue Bayou was horrible.

The Chicken Fried Sandwich at Hungry Bear was disgusting. It was extremely dry and over-fried. Nothing else was on it except chicken & bun.

When we go, we map out each meal and make our dining ressies way in advance. Sadly though the last time we were there (May 07) We noticed the food going down hill, in places that used to be good. Let's put it this way we avoid at all costs: Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, Hungrey Bear, Bengal BBQ, We do not eat in Toon Town, We do not eat in fantasy land, and we do not eat in tomorrow land. However in Disneyland we will eat at: That restraunt by big thunder that has mexican food, carnation cafe, and riverbell terrace. Over in California adventure we only eat at that Trattoria, everything else we call poison!
We usually eat at Storytellers, or Steakhouse 55, and Naples, Espn, Jazz Kitchen. Other than that it is so sad how downhill the food went.

I have to say the Mickey pretzels filled with cream cheese, and also when we went to the blue bayou and my mum ordered the

Molasses-Brined Bayou Pork Chop

:scared: It even had a hair on it
