A trip to WDW with a 2 and 3 year old and no melt downs? This must be magic!

Great update!! I love the shirts. :thumbsup2 and the picture of the mouth full of bacon! :rotfl2: Wasnt Piglet awesome?? I just loved him... we ate at CP last time and it is a MUST do for us on every trip!!! I know I would love the beach club but I really do not like busses.... I would have to rent a car and then the price would be too crazy for us...

Thanks! I was really happy with how the shirts turned out. I loved everyone in red. We took a group photopass pic in front of the castle that came out really cute. I will post those later.

I did really love CP. It's a classic meal. We're not even sure if we're going to do the dining plan in March. It's just so much food! I don't know how y'all do the deluxe!!! Mainly because I don't think I could get my kids to sit for two meals a day. Maybe we'll do deluxe for our grown up trip in Oct. I wasn't planning on it but now you've got me thinking!

Thank God for naptime!!!:cool1:

Alrighty, so after CP, our familes split up (again, I must mention how splitting up is key:) We wanted to get to Fantasyland asap and get all of those rides out of the way. I really can't remember but I know we somehow got fastpasses for Mickey's Philharmagic. I should mention that this trip was a very "fly by the seat of our pants" kind of trip. On the last trip we took in September (for Aubrey's 3rd birthday and the kid's first trip) I had planned every step we took. I literally had an itinerary that read: 9:00 Rope Drop, 9:20 Dumbo, 9:40 Peter Pan... and so on. WHAT A JOKE!!!:rotfl: We learned pretty much as soon as we stepped off of the plane that the plans weren't going to go quite like I planned on that trip. Soooo, for this trip we decided just to go wherever the wind took us. Now, we weren't just going to go all willy nilly. I had somewhat of an idea of what we wanted/needed to do. Like, I knew we needed to do Fantasyland asap after breakfast before it got crazy. But after that, we just left it open. The reason I bring this up is because we had no intention of doiing Mickey's PHM. We didn't do it the last time and I still didn't think the kids would keep their glasses on and wouldn't appreciate the 3D. Well, we got the fast passes (I think someone gave them to us) and decided why not??!? I am so glad we did it. Aubrey absolutely loved it. Brendan got a little scared because it is really loud. But for the most part, it was great! Here are the kids in their glasses. Aubrey did a lot better with hers than Brendan. He wasn't quite sure what it was all about...

Then there was the obligatory ride on It's a Small World. I'm sorry, but I could really go the rest of my life without ever riding this again. Side story - you know how that friggin song gets stuck in your head for days at a time??? Well, when we got back from our trip, Aubrey and I were in Walmart and she was singing the song at the top of her lungs over and over and over! It was so funny, but a little maddening. Two or three people came up to me and said that they were now singing it in their heads! One of them even asked if we were going to Disney World?? I told them that we had just gotten back so that's why she was singing it. It was really funny. Anyway, Here is a pic of Aubrey waving to some of the dolls. She loves this ride. Guess we won't be skipping it any time soon:upsidedow

049.jpg

Then it was over to Pooh. I was able to snap a pic of Mr. Toad handing over the deed to Owl. I had read about this many times but always forgot to look for it. This trip, I was determined to notice the little things like this...

102.jpg

At this point I think we had done all that we wanted to do in Fantasyland so we headed over to Mickey's Toontown. On the way, I wanted to stop by the Cinderella's water fountain and see if I could get a pic of the crown ontop of her head. Another thing that I've never stopped and taken the time to do. Here it is...

105.jpg

I'm telling you, these are the little things that make WDW so magical for me. I mean, I read all about them but never seem to stop and look for them! This trip was different! Slow and relaxing:thumbsup2

Another thing that I always wanted to do was to see Tink sleeping in the chest of drawers in Tinkerbell's Treasures! I was so sad to read before our trip that they had taken this out of the shop. I thought we should go in anyway and see if just maybe they were wrong and it was still there. I asked the CM at the front if it was still there and she directed us to the back of the store. Another CM told me that the chest wasn't there anymore but Tinkerbell still flew around the store from time to time, we just had to call her. He gave Aubrey a little bell to ring and magically, Tink appeared and started flying around the room (little lights glowed all along the walls and it looked like a trail of pixie dust) She was beyond thrilled. Here is a pic of her reaction...

Ok, so you can't really tell in this pic but I promise she just thought it was the coolest thing ever. It was one of those little Magical moments that makes all of the planning and $$ worth it! It literally brought tears to my eyes. I recommed everyone doing this, kids or no kids! Very cute:)

Ok, so off to Toontown we go. I wanted to find some characters so we went into that big gift shop. I can't remember what it's called, but there was a line that you could get in to meet the princesses and a second one to meet the Fairies from Pixie Hollow. The princesses had a shorter wait time. It said 30 minutes but I was willing to wait. Well, it took maybe 10 minutes and we were next in line! It was great. I recommend doing this also. The princesses were all there and really gave the kids their attention. Plus there were Photopass people everywhere so I didn't have to worry about taking a ton of pics (we had pre-purchased the PP DVD and split it between our 3 families. $33 sure was worth every penny!) Anyway, I did manage to take some of my own. Brendan stopped to say hi to Cinderella but then he was done. He was not interested at all in meeting these ladies. I have some hysterical photopass pics that I will have to share ina later post.

After meeting the princesses, we decided to let the kids burn off some steam in they play area across from the gift shop. They loved this place. Here is a pic of the kids. I thought this was cute and showed off my Tshirt handywork!

After the kids played a bit, we decided to head over to Splash Mountain. On the way, look who we ran into...

109.jpg

111.jpg

She was so sweet and Aubrey LOVED her! Jason and I always talk about retiring in Orlando and working for Disney. He wants to drive the DVC buses so he can meet people from all over and tell them how wonderful WDW is. I have now decided that I want to be the Fairy Godmother. It will happen. Mark my words!

There was a band playing in Fantasyland so we stopped to listen a bit. Jason was in the LSU band (geaux Tigers!!!) so the kids love instruments. They really liked seeing them up close and personal!

Ok, I have to run now. I'm heading over to Jenny Craig to get weighed, the worst part of my week:scared1: It's a great program - I've lost almost 50lbs!!! But I still get so nervous on Thursdays. I'll be back later with the results along with a GREAT Splash Mountain story/picture. You're a gonna love this one:lmao:

I'm enjoying your TR a ton! We leave in 25 days and it will be my kids' first trip. They'll be almost 5 and 26 months, so I am reading your report for all kinds of tips for my little guy. I just bought that monkey a few days ago, and we're trying to convince him it's cool. So far he's not buying it! Can't wait to read more!

How exciting!! Your first trip?? And just around the corner:banana: I know you must be counting the seconds!!! Thanks for reading along. I really learned a lot from our last two trips with the kids. I guess the biggest thing I learned is that you HAVE to be FLEXIBLE!!! Don't let yourself get upset if you go off track of what you had planned to do. You just never know what's going to happen - weather, crowds, what kind of modd your kids are in. That's the best piece of advice I can offer:) Thanks for reading along. :thumbsup2

I loved your trip report. Your children are so cute. And I thought it was funny when your husband was trying to keep your son from choking on the bacon. I hope you had fun and looking forward to more of your trip reports in the future. :)

Hello everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY:cool1::cool1::cool1:

So, you know you've been to Disney a lot when you have a PTR and a TR going at the same time:lmao: If you notice in my siggy, I do have an upcoming trip approaching in October. DH and I are going for a long weekend for the Food and Wine Fest. We LOVE it:lovestruc So, I don't have a PTR going right now just because it's only going to be a couple of days and no kids so there's really not much planning going on. BUT, I have done a few things lately for the trip that I'm really excited about. Would anybody object to me inserting a small PTR into my TR??:confused3 Ok, good. Didn't think so:rotfl:

Alright, so here are the details...

Mom and Dad Grown Up Trip:
-Thurs 10/1 - Sun 10/5
-Beach Club Villas - Studio
-Basic Dining Plan
- Thursday night: Le Cellier
- Friday night: eat til we can't walk at Food and Wine Fest
- Saturday night: Jiko
-Relax, relax, relax!!!

We really want to live it up on this trip and do things that we would never attempt to do with the kids. IE: eat at places like Le Cellier and Jiko:rotfl2: We also wanted to try one of the tours so after much research, I finally booked one. It's a new one in Epcot. Here's the description...

Using the Segway x2 off-road personal transporter (PT), guests are now able to experience Future World pavilions and attractions in an all new way. Called the Nature-Inspired Design tour, guests tour through the Land and the Seas pavilions

The 3-hour tour currently runs Tuesdays and Saturdays at 8:15 am and costs $124 per guest. As with most backstage / Segway tours, there is an age minimum of 16. Call 407-WDW-TOUR to book up to 90 days in advance.

Disney describe the tour as follows:-

Discover the wonder of nature-inspired design as you glide through land, sea and air at Epcot®. This 3-hour backstage tour allows you to experience the symbiotic relationship between nature and the nature-inspired designs incorporated into Epcot® pavilions and attractions. Glide over California on Soarin’™, tour the greenhouses at The Land pavilion, explore The Seas with Nemo & Friends® and visit Life Support scientists to learn how technology helps us maintain a better balance with nature.

After completing a required product overview and training, you will be equipped with a helmet and a Segway® Personal Transporter X-2 to experience this unique off-road tour. Epcot® Cast Member scientists share how their work environments are inspired by nature’s own design and how they use evolving technologies to maintain a balance with the world around them. After experiencing “air, land and sea” you will have the opportunity to ride your Segway® X-2 in a designated off-road backstage area at Epcot®.

We did the Around The World Segway tour once a few years ago and absolutely LOVED it. Those things are a BLAST to ride! We were actually thinking about doing it again but really wanted to do something "behind the scenes". I have heard that the Keys To The Kingdom tour is great but it may give away some of the magic. The CM on the phone actually told me that she had to leave the tour because it was giving away too much! I always tell people that if I were back stage and saw Mickey hanging on a coat hanger, I would need therapy:rotfl::rotfl: Really though, I would be very upset if even a little bit of the magic was given away. I have a friend that just went on it and I was asking her about that. She said it was great but they did see a few "off duty" Plutos walking around backstage but they tried to hide from the group. Even just hearing that makes me sad. I mean, Pluto lives at home with Mickey. Not backstage:rotfl2: Ok, I know I have issues. Anywho, I am super excited about this tour! It combines back stage with the Segway. Perfection!!!

So, along with my Disney addiction, I also have a Disney bag addiction. Meaning, I think I have bought a new bag to carry before each of our trips. That's a lot of bags. DH gives me such a hard time. Well, today I was in Payless looking for some sandles for DD and they have that BOGO sale going on - buy one get on half off. AND they just so happened to have this really cute bag that would be just perfect for our grown up trip. See, I wanted something a little smaller and a little cuter than the big bags that we have to carry when the kids are with us. Sooooooo, I broke down and bought it.:rolleyes1 Hey, it was only $8 with the sale so no harm really. DH will get a kick out of this. Here it is...

DSC_0001.jpg

It's got a long strap too so I can wear it over my shoulder. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I can justify anything. Anywho, I just had to share my exciting news about our upcoming trip.

I promise to be back soon with the continuation of my TR. The Splash Mountain story is up next. It's a good one!!!

I loved your trip report. Your children are so cute. And I thought it was funny when your husband was trying to keep your son from choking on the bacon. I hope you had fun and looking forward to more of your trip reports in the future. :)

Hi! Thanks! Yes, the bacon thing was really funny. It's not over. There is more to come. Hope you read along!

Congrats on the wedding!!!!! I'm so jealous. We got married before my obsession with Disney began. If I could turn back time, I would absolutely be a Disney bride!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to jump on here for a sec while my house is a bit quiet to share the Splash Mountain story with you. So here goes... After we were finished in Toontown, Jason and I wanted to ride Splash Mountain, and I also wanted to get Aubrey on it too. We showed it to her first. She stood on the bridge and watched all of the people screaming as they went down the big drop and suprisingly, she STILL wanted to go! She made the height cut off with a hair to spare so she and I got in line. While we were standing there, I hear someone calling my name. Of all people, it's my cousin!!! I knew she was going to be there at the same time as us but only for a day or so so we really didn't have a time that we could meet up. And she shows up right behind us in line!!! Too crazy. It was nice to have her there because the line was moving pretty slowly. It probably took us about 30 minutes to get through which is the longest I've ever waited. I told you I'm a line snob:laughing: Anyway, she was terrified. As we waited in line I was trying to calm her down and tell her the the drop isn't that bad. Well, we finally get to our log and they let the three of us sit together (me, her, and Aubrey) in, you guessed it, the front row. Nice. I kept saying that you really don't get that wet because, in my experience, I have really never gotten soaked.

Ok, I REALLY hate to do this to you but Jason is home with dinner and YELLING at me to come eat while it's hot. I will return shortly. Sorry:lovestruc

Ok, sorry. I inhaled my food. Ahhh, the things you do for the DIS (Side note: See my thread... You know you're addicted to the DIS when... It's freaking hilarious!)

So, I'm sitting there telling my cousin that we're not going to get that wet as we pass by the drop. I take out my phone to snap a pic of the people dropping and look what happens...

366.jpg

If you can't tell, this would be a large stream of water heading directly for my face:scared1: Can I tell you, I WAS SOAKED. Correction, WE were soaked. OMG, it was so funny. Aubrey didn't know what to think, but she liked it. My poor cousin, she was in shock. Very funny. Alrighty, so we make it to "the drop" and I'm trying to console my cousin. Thankfully, Aubrey had no clue what was about to happen. Then we drop, and drop, and drop. We hit the bottom and Aubrey begins to scream uncontrollably. Well, it was kind of this scream / laugh. Very strange. Then we go under the bridge and by the grace of God, Goofy happened to be standing up there greeting people. I immediately point this out to Aubrey and she was so excited to see him that she completely forgot the trauma that just occured.:rotfl: We get off the ride and find our picture. My cousin's husband took out his cell phone and snapped a pic. I knew this was against the rules so me, being the angel that I am, did not do the same:littleangel: But how happy am I that he did. Check it out...

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing: Ok, is this not the funniest picture you have ever seen!!!!! Do you see my cousin??? She's on the left with her hand in front of her face. And looking at poor little Aubrey's face, you would think that I was torturing her, right? Well, guess who wanted to go BACK on this ride with daddy?? YUP, even though it looks like she is about to have a heart attack, she wanted to do it again:lmao: Ahhhhh, man. I just crack up every time I see this picture. Ok, so that's the Splash Mountain story. Hope it didn't disappoint.

Now, I'm off to have some quality with the fam. Talk to you DISers in the am;)

OMG Aubrey's face in that picture is PRICELESS! I just want to give her a hug. Poor thing- she looks TERRIFIED!!!! :scared1: I can't believe she wanted to do it again. LOL Good for her!!! Your cousin's face is so funny too!!! Myles did Splash Mountain this past trip for the first time... he is not sure if he will do it again in Feb when we go back.

We took Owen on his first "Fast" ride a couple weekends ago, and he had that SAME look on his face as Aubrey. I said to the guy operating the ride- "Oh no, you need to stop the ride!!!!" - yes, I was "THAT" Mom! He didn't listen to me though, and I looked back at Owen and he was cracking up... so I guess he just wasn't expecting it and then liked it. LOL I guess it is good the guy didn't listen... Owen would have been crying if he did stop the ride for him and if he had to get off!! :rotfl2:

Your Splash Mountain picture is soooooooooooo funny. I am a grown woman and I still make the same face as Audrey when we get to the drop. I think we won't go back to Disney World until Grace is almost four. May of 2011. Faron won two round trip plane tickets from Coca Cola. He didn't even know he was in a contest at work and he won. We have a year to use them. I think the plan for now is to use them next summer. We really need a trip alone. We will fly to Seattle and rent a car and drive down the west coast to I am thinking Disneyland. Faron doesn't know that part yet. I also want to see the giant redwood trees. We will fly home from California. I hope my plan works. I really want to see the redwood trees and Faron always wanted to go to Seattle. Maybe I can have a Dis meet with Winkers and Jordan. I just threw Disneyland in there because, why not?? Do you have a facebook? If you do look me up. I can't wait to see what Grace will do on Splash Mountain one day. Oh by the way meeting up with your cousin in line is soooooooooooo cool.:thumbsup2

HAHAH! That is funny. You are THAT mom:rotfl:That's how Aubrey was with Soarin'. She was terrified but ended up loving it. I don't know if I'll be able to get her back on Splash Mountain though. At the time, she liked it but now when you ask her about it, she gets all scared. I'm sure she'll be in therapy because of it one day:lmao: I bet Owen will do fine once the trip is here. That's what I'm hoping for Aubrey. If enough time passes, maybe she'll forget:rolleyes1

That trip sounds WONDERFUL!!!! You definitely need time to yourselves. I think Jason and I are going to try and make this trip to the wine and food fest an annual thing. I am so looking forward to it. I would LOVE to go to Disneyland one day. We actually thought about doing it for Brendan's birthday instead of going back to WDW. We decided to wait until they're a bit older, and honestly, I'm nervous that I would be let down. I don't know. I'm just partial to WDW:lovestruc Glad we're FB friends now:)

Oh! What a story! Aubrey is too cute :) Little sweety in that picture!!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a while since an update! I have no excuses:rolleyes1 I'll just pick up where we left off! So, after I traumatized Aubrey in Splash Mountain, she begged to go back on it again with Jason. So while the two of them rode, Brendan and I were able to catch the Dream a Dream Come True Parade. We were at an awkward angle but Brendan still enjoyed it. Here is a pic of the star of the show...

115.jpg

And I just have to share this picture because I took it only to remember the hideous outfits that these poor CM's have to wear!

135.jpg

The only reason these outfits look even remotely attractive is because they put the purple and yellow CM's together - GEAUX TIGERS!!! Ha Ha. That's for any of you LSU fans out there:thumbsup2

Now, I really don't remember what time of the day it was at this point but I think we went to eat lunch after this at Columbia Harbor House. I had read somewhere to get a table upstairs as it is usually less crowded and you also have a great view of Fantasyland. They were right. It was such a nice relaxing break. As soon as we got inside, the skies opened up and it started pouring. It was so nice to sit there inside and enjoy the rainstorm. As soon as we were done eating, the rain stopped:woohoo: Perfect timing! It was now time to meet up with the rest of our clan to take a picture in front of the castle - the whole point of wearing our red shirts!!! We got there just in time to watch the show on the castle stage. All of the kids watched as the grown ups stood back and had a chance to visit. It's amazing how you really don't get a chance to just talk while at Disney. It's so hard because there is always so much going on. We were able to take some fun pics. Here is a shot of all of the kids watching the show...

Me and my sisters (I'm in the middle)...

The husbands (Jason is in the middle)...

And perhaps my favorite picture from this trip...

179-1.jpg

The guys showing off their empty pockets:lmao:Ahhhh, I love it!

Brendan quickly became tired of the show. Look at this. There needs to be a though bubble here saying "I'm so over this!":rotfl:

183.jpg

Here's a quick shot of the fireworks...

185.jpg

Here's a funny story. So, the day before when we were visiting Pixie Hollow in Epcot, we met this little girl who's name was also Aubrey. My Aubrey got such a kick out it! They held hands the whole time. Lo and behold, guess who ended up sitting next to us while watching the castle show...the same little girl and her grandmother!!! It was crazy! Well, by this point, my Aubrey was DUN. She was exhausted and not in a friendly mood. We wanted so badly to get a picture of the two Aubrey's but she wanted nothing to do with it. Here's what I got...

191.jpg

Oh, gotta love that face!

It was now time to leave. We needed some down time so we headed down Main Street to the buses and I took some pics along the way...

198.jpg

204.jpg

206.jpg

Remember how I said before that I was going to try and take my time on this trip and notice all the little magical secrets? Well, I tried to do this on our way out of MK. With two cranky kids in tow, it was difficult but I managed to see a few things. Here's Roy Disney's window...

211.jpg

I had read so many times about the music and dance lessons window. It was tucked away on a little side street off of Main Street, but I found it. You're supposed to be able to hear a piano playing as well as a dance class/tap shoes. Unfortunately, the sound effects were not on but I did see the speaker that it should have been coming out of. I took a pic anyway...

211.jpg

So I know the title of my TR says that we didn't have any breakdowns. Well, I must admit that we did have one. BUT, it was me that had teh breakdown, no the kids:rotfl: I wanted to stop at the bench out in front of Tony's to see if Goofy would give us a giggle (they say that he'll laugh when you sit down next to him) All I wanted was a picture. Is that too much to ask?? Apparantly! The kids wanted nothing to do with it and I lost it! I guess you can't really tell in this pic but I was soooooo mad:headache: Oh well, there's always next time!

215.jpg

After this lovely Kodak moment, we loaded the bus and headed back to the hotel. The plan was to chill and check out the new Kidani Village pool! Those pics up next!

I loved the update. I just realized I have been calling Aubrey, Audrey. Sorry. I like both names. I love the picture of Aubrey with her little friend. It is priceless. I love the empty pocket shot too. I was thinking the same thing about the ugly comstumes in the parade. Geaux Tigers !!!!

Haha! It's ok about Aubrey's name. You know, I've inadvertantly passed on the difficult name thing to BOTH of my children. My entire life, people have either called me Melissa or have no idea how to pronounce my name (sounds like Melissa but with a "T" = Talissa) Now, everyone either calls my kids Audrey or Brennon:rotfl: It's not that they're difficult to pronounce, it's just that they're so similar to other names! Oh well:confused3 I guess it's a family tradition:laughing:

The empty pocket thing is so funny! Everyone around us thought it was funny too when we took the pic. And it's so true! Disney can wipe you out:sad2:

Aren't those costumes hideous?? The only reason I took their pic is because of the purple and gold. I knew you would appreciate it. Geaux Tigers:cheer2:

Great update! I think if that's the only meltdown of the trip, you did great! And I have to know...did Goofy giggle?
