A trip to WDW with a 2 and 3 year old and no melt downs? This must be magic!

Hi!
Great pics!! I had no idea that Goofy giggles sometimes! We have lots of pics sitting with him and we never got a giggle :confused3 We will have to try again next time. You did really good about getting in some pics this time... If I can loose a little before the trip I will try to get in some too. :rotfl2:

Another fun update. I love the LSU outfits. We missed this parade on our last trip. My DH would agree with the men in your family, empty pockets. You really got some great shots.

Great update! I think if that's the only meltdown of the trip, you did great! And I have to know...did Goofy giggle?

Well, you know I actually can't remember:rolleyes1 This was such a stressful moment and there was a lot of screaming going on so, sadly, I didn't notice:sad2: I will be sure to try it again next time!

Thanks. You know, I said that all the time, about losing weight. And whilie I have lost some weight, I still have a ways to go and am not happy with the way I look in pics. But who's to say that I ever will be:laughing: I'm just glad to have proof that I was actually there!

Weren't those outfits horrific??? I mean, those poor CM's. The worst is when it's Christmas time and they all have to walk around with sweaters and scarves on in 90 degree heat:rotfl: I always feel bad for them. But they just keep on singing!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. I am a single mother this weekend. Jason is in Florida at a conference. This is the first time we've been apart for more than a night in almost 8 years:scared1: It's actually been nice having some alone time with the kids but it's hard. I don't know how people do it alone. I am very lucky to have such a wonderful DH:love:

Ok, no more mushy stuff. On with the show... We had a long afternoon at MK and were ready for a little R&R so we headed back to the resort with plans to check out the new Kidani Village pool. I had only seen pictures of it and we heard the kid's area was awesome! We made it back to the "lodge" and changed into our suits. Now, we had no idea how to get to the new part of the hotel. We were told that we could walk so we figured we'd try that instead of loading everyone up on the bus. We headed out the front of the hotel and down the driveway - the way we were told to go. Well, there were absolutely no signs telling us which way to go and no pathway (like we were told there would be) and we were wandering around like some kind of crazy family! Anyway, we decided to head back to the bus stop and do that instead. All of the buses stop at Kidani on their way out of the resort. So glad we did because man, it was a hike! So, here are some pics. Forgot to post this one earlier. It's of Jason and Brendan on our way out of the hotel. My cool boys...

We finally made it to the pool. Here's the entrance to the kid area. This place was AWESOME!!!

He caught air every time!

And the fountains, he loved the fountains too! Hello dysentery!

This pool was GREAT! We hung around there all night. There was a nice bar right in the middle so we ordered a few drinks and some snacks. This was such a nice relaxing night.

Alrighty, time for me to get ready for bed. I also need to upload more pics. Up next... Animal Kingdom - my favorite park!

Hello!

I just found your TR and have to catch up, but I wanted to comment on a couple of things.

Your kids are absolutley adorable. I have a 3 1/2 year old girl and am pregnant with a boy. I'm so excited to see my kids play together one day and am so happy and blessed to now be a mom to both a girl and a boy! Looks like FUN :)

That picture of your little boy going straight to the phone cracked me up. My DD does that each and every time we arrive to a new hotel room. I have to unplug the phone once we step through the door. :sad2:

Look forward to reading more. :)

I LOVE the Monkey too!!! It has been a lifesaver for all of our trips... Unfortunately I've gotten to the point where I don't use it on DD anymore. :(

Here's a picture of DD on our trip to Disney World in 2007!

I saw some really cute Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse ones at babies r us.... I think when it comes time for DS to use one I'll get one of those.

Hey!!! Thanks so much for reading along. This was such a great trip for us I think mostly because it was so last minute. It forced us to be more laid back about it. Having a boy and a girl is great! I have to admit that I was a little bummed when we found out he was a boy:rolleyes1 (I didn't know what I was having - for either) I think only because all I knew was my little princess and I had no idea what to do with a boy! But those feelings quickly changed. I love how different he is from his sister. Today, we got ice cream cones for the first time from the ice cream man. Aubrey sat there, very careful to not get a drop on her. Brendan, on other hand, pretty much bathed in the stuff:rotfl:Ahhhh, so funny. And they get along so well! It's so nice for them to have playmates. You'll see quick enough!!! Hope you are feeling well with the pregnancy. Thanks again for reading along:thumbsup2

Oh, you are KIDDING me!!!! I LOVE the Mickey one!!! I am debating using it again in March. DS will be 3. That may be a little old:rolleyes1 Maybe I'll use it on my DH as he tends to wander off as well:rotfl:

Okay, I really hope you don't think I'm hijacking your TR here. :lmao: But I wanted to share this photo of DD.... This is one of many.... See goes straight for the phone just like your son. :lmao:

Haha!, No, I love the pictures!!! That is so funny. Can you imagine what would happen if we left the two of them alone together:scared1: Thanks for sharing:thumbsup2

I just poured myself a cup of coffee and am sitting down to read your PTR. Can't wait:banana:

The pool area at Kidani looks awesome! We also were perplexed about how to get to it from AKL-- always saw people walking but never saw walkways? Either way, I prefer the lodge to the new village- the village isn't themed as well, at least I think it isn't! Great updates so far!

Hello! I'm enjoying your trip report.....our next trip will be in May when our youngest DS will just have turned 2 so we'll be using the "monkey" plenty too. I really want a Mickey one now though.....I'll have to check out Babies R Us before our trip. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to hearing more :)

Beautiful pictures!! I love your actions shots of Brendan going down the slide and of your daughter posing.

I'm so lonely for Disney I started a trip report from our June trip. If you get a chance check it out. We were there when LSU was playing for the baseball World Championship.

Ok, SOOOO glad to hear that we weren't the only ones who couldn't find that freaking walkway:lmao: Really, where is it? And, after taking the bus there, we realized how long of a walk that would have been!!! I agree with you about the theming. We were actually thinking about staying at Kidani in March because of the pool but decided against it. Also, there is no QS restaurant at Kidani so we would have to go down to the main house to eat. That would be a pain! Hopefully they'll get one in there eventually becuase I would like to stay there, if nothing else for that pool!

May is a great time to go! I hope you have a wonderful time. I think 2 is a great age. When we first took our kids, DS was only 18 months and while he had a good time, I could tell that he really didn't get it. On this last trip, he had just turned 2 in March and he had a blast! And I said it before and I'll say it again, God bless that monkey:rotfl: I do love that Mickey one too! Wish that would have been out last year! Thanks for reading along:thumbsup2

Thanks! I think those picture of Brendan on the slide are hilarious. You would think that it would hurt him to come flying down on his butt, but he loved it! I have like 20 pictures of it:rotfl2:

I am going to check out your TR today. What an exciting time to be in Disney. Did you get to watch the game???

Hi everyone! Just dropping in to do a quick post before we head out. Today is open house at Aubrey's preschool. We're going to check out her classroom. They don't start school until next week and it can't get here soon enough!!!

Ok, so when I left off, we were finishing up our day at MK with a relaxing night at the Kidani pool. What a blast, and man were the kids beat! We got them home and bathed and ready for bed. We were staying in a studio so that meant we had a queen sized bed and a pull out sofa. The kids were sleeping on the sofa. The loved it. Brendan LOVES to jump, on anything, espeicially beds so it was funny when we looked over and saw that he had jumped right into the space of the sleeper sofa between the back of the bed and the couch. I immediately grabbed my camera to get this moment on film...

We had good laugh and I got my picture, as you can see, then we decided it was time for bed so we went to pull Brendan out and get them settled. Um, ok, well, he wasn't budging:scared1: Really, he was completely wedged in there and STUCK!!! I rarely panic, I try not to overreact unless there is need to overreact. Well, after a good 10 minutes of tugging, it was time to overreact!!!!! We didn't know what to do. He was really stuck in there and was now getting scared and crying. Good Lord. I was about to call the front desk and have them send someone up. It was looking like the only way we were going to get him out was to take apart the bed:scared1: We decided to give it one more try. I pulled back on the metal bar, trying to pry it open a bit. Jason pulled on Brendan and thankfully, out he came. Whew!!!! My poor baby's legs were red as apples and he had bruises on them the next day. It was crazy! Only us, can I tell you!

Alright, I just had to share that story with you before we left. I will hopefully be doing another post later today. I just got through uploading a bunch of pics from Animal Kingdom, our next and final stop:)

What a scare!!:scared1: Nothing worse than being stuck. I'm so glad he came out. So I have to ask, did that stop the jumping?

Yes, it was very scary and no, he has not stopped jumping. Not even a little. I think I will try to get him into Cirque Du Soilel. He would do great:lmao:

I should start by directing you all to my signature. One month from today is our grown up trip to the Food and Wine fest:cool1::cool1::cool1: Can I tell you how ready I am?? Ok, just had to share my excitement!!!

Alrighty, so it's Saturday morning and our last day in the parks. The plan was to head over to Animal Kingdom. I forgot to mention that the day before, we decided to try and get in at Tusker House. I don't remember why it was last minute but we were lucky enough to get in for breakfast. It was perfect. I love this breakfast. We did it before when it was at Restaurantasaurus and I remember the food being so good. So we made it into the park just before rope drop and got to see the opening ceremony. After it was over, we headed over to the reataurant. Before they called us back, they took a family picture. It actually turned out really good and I ended up buying it. I'll have to scan it and post it! Ok, so we get in a sit down. We were able to get some food before the characters started coming out. First up, the man himself, Mickey!

Aubrey was SO excited to see him! She just couldn't understand why Minnie wasn't there. I told her that she was at home taking care of ClaraBelle who was sick. Don't know where that came from but it worked. She didn't ask about it again! Too funny.

Then it was time to meet our two favorite ducks...

010.jpg

015-1.jpg

Brendan was so funny with Donald and Daisy. He wasn't able to say their names at the time so he just kept screaming "Hey Duck" over and over. It was really funny.:rotfl:

Then came Goofy...

019.jpg

I highly recommend this meal. I don't know what it is. The food is good and I just really like the atmosphere. We plan on doing it again in March:thumbsup2

After our wonderful breakfast, we planned to meet up with my sister. This was the sister that had never been to Disney and this was their frist day at AK. We decided to stay with them most of the day and show them around the park. We planned on meeting at KS so that we could catch one of the early rides and see lots of animals. They were running a little behind so this is how I decided to pass the time...

022-1.jpg

And the fninshed product...

026.jpg

Jason and I did this once before. We both got tiger faces. It was a spur of the moment thing. Why not?? Aubrey was not a fan. She did not like me having something all over my face. Oh well. She got over it when her cousins showed up!

The line was pretty long but it went by fast. Here is a picture of Aubrey and her favorite cousin Sydney...

058-1.jpg

How cute are they??? They're 18 months apart but are the bestest of friends. It was really special for them to be at Disney together:thumbsup2

Here is a pic of Brendan checking out the scenery. Notice the monkey. I wasn't taking any chances of him trying to jump out of the car. I so would not put that past him!

062-1.jpg

Ok, is it just me or do you all have like 4000 pictures from this safari ride? We do this ride every time we go to Disney and every time I take 100 pictures of the same old things! I just can't help it. It's so beautiful! So, here are some of the tons of pics that I have...

This one looks like a postcard...
035.jpg

And check this out. The giraffes were out in full force this day. One crossed the road in front of us and started running. Have you ever seen a giraffe run?? It was one of the most amazing, graceful things I've ever seen. It truly took my breath away.

I wish I had a video of it but I guess this is the next best thing. Maybe if you scroll down real fast, it will look like he's running:rotfl:

After his run, Mr. Giraffe decided to get up close and personal with us. Too cool!

054-1.jpg

053.jpg

Too many pics....

I had to get a shot of this bumper sticker. Too funny:laughing:
057-1.jpg

And last but not least, I actually got a shot of the lion. He was out, which is a rare treat!

067.jpg

And that was our wonderful safari ride. It was a good one and we had a really good guide!

Up next, flights of wonder and our most favorite thing at AK!

Great update. I love animal Kingdom. We actually got a shot of the male and female lion out together in the same spot you took your picture.

Oooooooo my my, on the jumping on the bed thing.:rotfl2: If it would have been us my luck would have been me jumping on the bed with him and I would have got stuck. Thats about how I roll:rotfl2::rotfl2:LOL. I always let the kid jump in bed on vacation. I join them too. Shhhhhhhhh don't tell.:rotfl2:
