A total list of park projects!

This is on the Disney website...

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - Closed For Refurbishment Monday, January 09 - Saturday, March 31

Is there ANY chance of this being accurate and that BTMR might be open for our Late April trip? Don't get my hope up, right?

not Likely. Consensus seems to be that Disney's official released calendar does not go past the end of March, so that's the reason for the fact their site currently lists the refurb ending on March 31st.....

Since it's expected that the actual refurb time will go thru till late May, we will likely see the official dates on the public Disney calendar extended once they officially release their information beyond March.

This sounds like kind of a stupid question, but whats going where dumbo is now? Is the castle wall going out that far? Is it just going to be open space?

Yup, The Castle Wall (based off the concept artwork) is supposed to make a turn from approx where it's currently ended behind the construction wall, and cut thru Dumbo's current location to connect with the other side of the "existing Fantasyland" around the location of the 7 Dwarfs Mine shop that's located between Pooh and Snow White.

I know of something new coming to MK next year but I've been sworn to secrecy!!!! Ahhhhhh! Haha! I love when my CM friend tells me about new stuff, but I hate keeping secrets. It hasn't been in any of the rumors news so I guess CM's are being pretty tight lipped about it, and I should too. ;)

CMs know NOTHING...

you heard it here first.

the idea that they:
1. know anything that has any level of secrecy
2. Could protect any such information for more than a millisecond.
...is not even reasonable.

Remember: they hire ANYBODY at WDW now...they are not the upper management of Citibank...why would they tell the rank and file anything?

I'm too sarcastic - I know - but if you look at the situation logically and excuse the sarcasm...you'll see that that my point makes sense.

He's not an hourly person that operates rides, he's told me enough stuff in the past that has come to fruition that I believe him. He's working on the implementation of this new project. So, you can think that all CM's don't know what's going on, but I will always believe my friend. :thumbsup2

And no, your point does not make sense, because there has to be SOMEONE that knows what's going on at the company, or nothing would ever get done.

Fair Enough

That's not true...this has not been announced, and probably won't be until closer to time. It's not a new ride or a new land.

At least drop a hint so in the future you can see "see? toldya."

Right now, you could literally point to any new announcement and say "see? toldya" and that doesn't count.

How about this: Name the park. Name how big this will be and what it involves. And give a timeframe.

Edit to add: What it involves without giving it away, obviously... some tiny hint that can prove you "knew."

Haha, I don't have to do a toldya though. I just have the satisfaction of knowing, although I would LOVE to tell. But then that would get me in trouble with him, hehe. :goodvibes It's MK, mid to late year. And I can't really say what it involves without saying what it is. I guess I could narrow it down to it being a show.

Ya! Come on, give us a taste.

Excellent... thanks for the tip and I hope you're right. I know there has been talk of a new nighttime fireworks show at some point, so I'm going to guess that maybe that's what you're talking about. Either that, or a new parade/return of Spectro.

Wow I can go that as well.

I guarentee that there will be new merchandise and park maps over the next year.

I think sometimes people forget how large the company is, and how many departments there are in the creative processes. One department might be in charge of a new themed land, and another department in charge of shows...and not everything gets announced, especially if it's smaller. Yea, Avatarland is going to be a big pull in people planning future vacations, so they make that announcement several years in advance whereas a new show, or just plussing around the parks will not be announced or either announced closer to time because people aren't going to make special vacation plans just to see those things.

I've heard that rumor as well. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see! I'm excited about all the new things coming next year, the things that have been announced, AND the ones that haven't. :)

I just love seeing progress and building! :wizard:

Forgive me if you think i'm ignorant, but i don't consider it MAJOR if it isn't a new land or ride. A show or parade is big, but not major IMHO.

I don't believe I ever said it was major, just something new coming. In fact, I don't even think I said it was a BIG project. Forgive me if I mislead, but all I said was that there was something new coming to MK next year. And that is in fact a truth, I just cannot confirm what that project is due to someone putting their trust in me with the information. I've already given all of the information I feel comfortable giving.
