A total list of park projects!

Everything that I said is confirmed has been announced by Disney so how is that wishful thinking?

Your one of the people on here that seems to be in the know with a lot of things. Sure, you might be a little off here and there but the majority of the things you predict seem to come to fruition.

I've got mad respect for your posts and inside scoops.

Any news on Dinoland 2.0 expansion at DAK ;-)

they announced an avatar "creative partnership"...

if you can give me something more concrete about that you'd be the first...

they announced the monsters inc thing?...a new country?...new test track...?

or is that "hopeful speculation"?

and to be fair...i was outta the loop at WDW for the last couple of weeks...so i may be wrong

Those were in the section called Rumors doc.

If you read the press release Disney said this is a five year process from begining to end. That would be 2016 so how is that not accurate? That came from Disney's mouth not mine.

and not to mention that creative agreement got a 400-500million budget, that was from Iger and Staggs mouth.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom slated to open early 2012

I updated the first post with this info.

In the OP you showed AvatarLand in MK but all the rumors have been putting it in AK!

I agree

1) Neber said I wanted it on Epcot.
2) Frankly, I dont want it at all.
3) But, Future World seems better than Animal Land.

Why are you the first to point out that it doesn't fit in AK?

It doesn't...by the way. Sci-fi intergalactic planet "conservation" is too much of a stretch - in my opinion. There's plenty of ways to highlight conservation based in SCIENTIFIC FACT right here on earth.

I want to be excited about this...but I can't shake the feeling that this is not gonna be a homerun

DAK with it's current theme is a failure this will make it a success. One of the reasons DL/MK and IOA are so great goes back to Walt Disney's original recipe. It is made of contrasting themes. One minute you are in space then a short walk away the old west. For IOA one minute you are in the comic books the next the world of Dr. Suess. When done well you get MK and IOA when not you get DHS and DCA.

This will give DAK the contrast of themes that it needs. DAK had the same theme everywhere you go and that is fine if you have something to contrast the same. If they built BK or Dinolans got it's river cruise and Wooden coaster instead of Chester and Hester this would not have to happen.

We instead would be debating god forbid how this fits in EC or thank god DHS is getting something.

He's not. This has been one of the debates on the many Avatar threads around here while you were away.

Personally, I think it fits in as well as "Beastly Kingdom." If you can accept the original idea of BK at AK, I don't see "Avatar" as that big of a stretch -- and because of the conservation themes, it's probably a better fit than dragons and orcs or whatever you'd expect to find in BK.

Honestly, using scientific fact an animals from another land here on earth would have been an easy and relatively inexpensive way to expand AK. I'm giving them credit for taking the expensive and risky path instead. I remain cautiously optimistic.

Personally, I think Avatarland will be as good (or better) fit into AK then Dinoland. It will also help Dinoland blend in better with AK. The reality of AK is that you:
1 - Enter into AK through a beautifully done jungle pathway with animals all around;
2 - Get to the centre, the Tree of Life which has a nice bug/cartoon tie-in;
3 - Branch out to a village in Africa which is modelled on an existing village;
4 - Check out Asia which is also pretty much in current timeframe;
5 - Then <hiccup> you're in Dinoland ... however gorgeously done, everything else in AK is representative of today.

Currently Dinoland, because it doesn't match timelines, makes the whole park look fake. The "county fair" part of it just enhances this. Adding in a futuristic land will help balance things out and make Dinoland fit in better.

Also, with it's very strong themes of nature and conservation, Avatarland blends in very nicely. Afterall, the vast majority of the movie is about nature, not spaceships and future tech.
