Use a stroller, you can put the camera on the hood and direct it at any angle with a jacket of something. Wheel it around to any angle and nobody can stand directly in front of you.
Also as there is no longer any incentive to return them to the front of the park, people just leave them at the side of park and there are plenty of empty strollers in the evening.

when I worked at Ritz camera we had more summer repairs, due to cameras and camcorders being placed on strollers, and strollers then tipping dumping the cameras and camcorders to the ground...

I personally would not take that chance with my baby...

This is a tough one...have another kid, carry all the baby stuff...plus a stroller....or just stow the tripod in a rental locker until I need it during the day....

mmmmmmmmm

:rotfl2:

I have one of these:

I use it on trash cans, poles, walls, benches, sidewalks, or whatever else I can find that doesn't move.

Some of the mini tripods have a velcro wrap on one leg. This can be used to attach the tripod to something solid and veritcal, like a post or railing. Very portable yet can be made very solid.

Hmmm, I'm going to have to check that second one out! I could velcro it to the stroller! :rotfl: J/K It looks small enough to stow in the stroller basket though. :thumbsup2

I have one of these and it fits in my front pocket. Not the best for dSLR's, but it will work. I took a number of pictures with it last trip.

beanbags work well - better than prams, imho. you can set them on the ground, table, wall, etc. i've seen so many prams tip with food, popcorn buckets, souvenir bags, purses, and even kids. i wouldn't want to put my camera on one. of course my camera won't sit on a mini tripod, either :(

keep us dSLR users posted about the one for dSLR (will it be able to mount my 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens with my 30D + grip + flash? ;) )

I'm hoping it works--they're for compact cameras, but they'll have one for heavier SLRs next month.

Thanks Laura for the link. That looks like it's very handy to have. I've been using a mini tripod but the gorillapod looks a lot more flexible for those hard to get shots at WDW. :thanks:

i am waiting for that gorilla...( first off i like the movie they play on their site but that's not the only thing) i never have any place to hold my camera steady if i am taking something from the car. ( you'd have to understand my husband, "Mr. don't get out of the car that bee/ crazed motorist/bear /cliff/ fill in the blank /will get you " )

and anyone ever wonder...babies are "OK" in strollers but they wouldn't put a "camera" in it... :lmao: ( i know the baby is in it not on it)

All it says on the site is it's coming in July. And yep, they do seem to prefer Canon. :thumbsup2
