Battery PHONE CASE! I didn't even know these existed until my last trip and wow what a great invention for long days at the parks. Unlike the fuel rods, nothing awkward to carry attached to your phone and you get to keep it at the end of the day. It works great.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S9 so it may not be for all phones. I got a very standard black battery case on amazon for about $25. I put a sticker on the back of it to pretty it up because I'm used to flimsy vanity cases. This is definitely more akin to an otterbox.. but I'm hooked. You simply hold in the button on the back and it begins to charge your phone with the external battery that's held in the case. I will say it gets a little warm around the charging port while charging so you would be wise to turn it on when you're inside a show or getting food, somewhere in the air conditioning so your phone doesn't overheat.

Yup...Mohie Cases are one of the best and double or triple your battery life.

I keep one charged at all times in my backpack then just pop it in when low on juice then keep going. Better then a portable charger IMO, only down side tis that they are model specific and can not charge other phones if needed.

yep - I have one for my iphone 6s. case is a little thicker than a normal case but sooo convenient. I don't think it's great to use on a regular basis but disney trip, festivals and time I'll be away from a trip all day it's great!

Just for clarity, you get to keep fuel tods at the end of the day. They are rechargeable and swappable at many major airports and public locations, especially in the southwest.

While the Fuel Rods are a great option, you then have another item with a cable that you have to schlep around vs the charger being built into the phone case. Both have their advantages, but I love my charger case.

I just use a external battery charger. I charge it at night and i can charge my phone probably at least twice to 100% + my camera and or any other gadgets i may have. I do not even use a regular case on my phone because i do not like it being heavy. I usually just charge it when we are eating or something.

I agree about the phone charger case. I have an Apple charge case for my iPhone, and I also take an external charger. I do a lot of streaming from the parks for DIS Unplugged when I'm there so that eats up my battery life a lot. I pretty much never take the phone charger case off of my phone.

I tried one once but it made the phone too thick to fit into my pants pockets and the cell phone pocket of my cross body bag. It's a great idea in theory though.

I fully appreciate that. I didn’t want anyone to infer from the OP that you didn’t get to keep the fuel rod or that it didn’t have value beyond the day.

I feel the same. It makes the phone bulky and heavy but I carry an anker external battery charger and connect them with a USB C and I get 50% power in no time at all.

Yup. Love my Anker. Charges from dead to 100% in about 20 min.

This sounds like a great option: both! LOL. I've always used an external mophie charger but I also like this idea of a charging case, which I've not heard of until now. I usually share the mophie with my kids, which is the prime advantage to external, but I think I may give the case a whirl if the cost is reasonable.

Cherie,

For the iPhone I had a Mophie, but when I upgraded my iPhone years ago (still have a 6s) I went with an Apple charger because my battery status shows me both. The top is flexible so you just slide your phone in. The two samples below are for different models, but they have some good comparison sites out there for what best fits you. My case finally stopped fully charging my phone after 4 years, so I got another one, and keep the first one as back-up.

I ran out of battery power at Disneyland a couple of times, and so now I like to keep extra sure.

Thanks, MaryJo! I don't have an iPhone but all 3 of my girls do. I have a Galaxy s7. Do you know anything about good brands for Android?
