A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Oh no! Ouch!!!

I'm happy to see a picture of you, MeMom, but not under those circumstances!

It sounds like you were a very good sport about it...good for you!

I have a wallet that looks just like the purses in that photo...I only use it at Disney World and I love it!

I couldn't help but be a good sport. It was just too funny not to be!

And Jill sharing what I looked like as I went down just added to the silliness of it.

That's the end of the pictures of me, and there's a good chance I'm going to remove them after today. I figure by then, anyone who is interested will have stopped by, seen the damage, and moved on. Anyone who just happens by later wouldn't be all that interested in seeing them anyway, and they won't be up here forever. They can just go back into 'the vault'! :)

Oh ouch ouch ouch!!!!
There's no hint of the injury behind the big sunglasses, though... but I'm sure you can tell it's still there!

With all of the pictures you are posting of shops, I find myself drooling way too much. "I have to get that when I'm there!!!" Oh but there is only so much money for souvenirs...
In particular, I love those little pouches of the comic-strip mickey and minnie-- "I try to talk seriously and all you can say is "Oh Boy"!" I like the little mickey-head on the zipper, too...
oh what a crisis. I wish I was there now.

The sunglasses worked perfectly!

That's why I take pictures of things - because I don't have enough money to buy them. At least I can look at the pictures and see how cute they are. Then, if something just keeps calling my name, I can think about purchasing it on a future trip.

Oh, no about falling!!! Glad the sunglasses covered it up! How nice to see pictures of you, MeMom!!! :goodvibes

That is the first time I have fallen flat on my face - cheekbone meets concrete.

Both pictures will most likely be taken off after today. This is just a quick peek at silliness, and then I'll need to go back into hiding.

Or maybe I'll crop the pictures a little more and leave them in. We'll see.

Was that Sophia Loren in that picture? :goodvibes

Ouch, that looked painful.

BTW, they are called escargot not snails. Geez, you Southerner! :confused3

:rotfl2:

MeMom--

Great update of your trip on your way out---so sorry about your fall though!!! I can relate---one year my BFF and I went to Chicago for a "Girls' Trip" and while we were walking to dinner one night, I was looking up at the architecture of some of the buildings while we were stopped at a crosswalk. I don't know if I miss-stepped the curb or what, but while I was looking up, I quickly found myself falling to the ground flat out on my back----in the middle of downtown Chicago----with a huge crowd of people around me----inches from a very busy street. Yeah, let's just say the only hurt that evening was my ego!!! ;o) So I've been there, done that with you!!! Hee Hee!!!

So glad that they are having fun down there---neat that they had the place to themselves last night!!! Last November, we had a late ADR at LTT, and when we were finished, we were allowed to walk around a completely empty Main Street and get the BEST pictures of the castle and the street!!! It was the best night we have ever had there!!! That is also the night Megan was pretending to be Minnie and that CM (Matthew) gave her that HUGE Minnie Doll---do you remember that from my TR? ANYWAY, because of that experience, I am now going to make sure I always plan a late ADR for that reason specifically!!!

So sorry about your "stumble". :flower3: I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse than your shiner. At least you could cover it up. I totally ate it at the airport last Thanksgiving and NO one stopped to make sure if I was o.k. I was with my 8 yr old and myself. All I could think of was "fat girl down! The fat girl is down!":rotfl2:

BTW, they are called escargot not snails. Geez, you Southerner! :confused3

:rotfl2:

Is this supposed to make them sound better?

Actually, I have never had them but I must admit I am pretty daring when it comes to food so I probably would try them given the chance (as long as it's drowned in garlic butter)

I think so. I have never had them in a sandwich but they are delicious in garlic butter.

Oh the stories I could tell about my clumsiness. :rotfl: Memom sorry you gave yourself a shiner but it does help when we can laugh at ourselves. Also now that I have seen you you look very much like my aunt. If I didn't know she was in Maine I would have thought it was her.

:rotfl: You are too funny!

My children might fill in the blank with other words.

Dorky comes to mind.

:rotfl2:

It depends. Is that as beautiful as you can think of?
If so, yes.
Yes, that was her.

It was a bit tender for a few days.

Escargot? I hear the menfolk talkin' about that all the time.
'Iss car go faster 'n 'at one does.'

That is exactly what I did - misjudged the curb! It's nice to know there are other clumsies out there.

I think that a late meal is an excellent idea.

Oh MeMom, I'm so sorry you took a spill! Glad you are ok and could laugh about it!

We laughed about it for sure!

So sorry about your "stumble". :flower3: I'm glad you weren't hurt any worse than your shiner. At least you could cover it up. I had more people than I wanted asking me if I was okay. The CM's wanted me to go to First Aid, but I passed on that. I suppose I should have gone, and maybe I would have gotten a Mickey Mouse band-aid or a certificate or something cool! :)

Is this supposed to make them sound better?

Actually, I have never had them but I must admit I am pretty daring when it comes to food so I probably would try them given the chance (as long as it's drowned in garlic butter)

I, on the other hand, probably would not.

I think so. I have never had them in a sandwich but they are delicious in garlic butter.

I will take your word for it.
I'm still making faces every time I think about it, and they still aren't pretty!

Memom, so sorry about your fall, you looked very nice in your sunglasses:flower3:

I think I had three pairs of sunglasses with me. Those were the best 'covering up bruises' ones.

JILL UPDATE - After a morning at Magic Kingdom doing all the Fantasyland stuff and getting a haircut and some pixie dust, they are at Epcot. Brooklynn is asleep, which Jill says was the plan. Get up early, go do Brooklynn's stuff, then she falls back asleep while Jill and John eat their way around World Showcase. They are at the store in the UK that has all the soccer stuff right now, and Brooklynn is sacked out in the stroller.

Oh...does your aunt have a shiner, too?

I might not have laughed at myself as much if I had been here at home, but no one knew me there and it was dark, so it was okay.

And Jill showing me what I looked like then gave me the opportunity to then laugh at her laughing at me.

So sorry that you took a fall, but you were such a good sport about it! My dad routinely pretends to trip or walk into stuff, so when he actually does, we never believe him and just ignore him. :lmao:

Snail sandwiches...that sounds like something that my dad would try. He ate haggis :scared: when he and my mom were in Scotland a few years ago and raved about it, so I can definitely imagine him trying a snail sandwich. I'm much more adventurous than my sister or my mom when it comes to food, but not as adventurous as my dad. :rotfl:

I also loved your palm tree picture! I really enjoyed taking those kinds of pictures in Epcot, especially around Spaceship Earth. I was constantly falling behind my family and having to run to catch up.

Jacob tried the snails at Epcot too.
He liked them, he is my adventurous eater.

Sorry about your fall. Glad you kept your sense of humor. And saved the popcorn buckets.

Empty DHS sounds great. I'll have to remember that last ADR trick.

I fully plan to try them snails at Food & Wine! :rotfl2: I'm nervous about it, but I really want to try something new and I figured this was the cheapest way I could try it!

I'm so glad you are okay from the fall! It had to be quite a site though... I love seeing your pretty face, despite the circumstance...your shades are very cool. :cool2:

Memom,
I was trying to think of something grosser than snails, I was think about tongue and maybe pigs feet. But then I was thinking about when I was a kid we went to an Italian resort, they served everybody a pig head called cabootzell they spelling is wrong but that's how it is pronounced . It's an Italian delicacy my grandmother said it is very good. It made me sick I passed on dinner that night and maybe the next also. So I just might eat a snail if I had to choose between the two.
Update; Snail :confused3 Cabootzell:eek: :scared:

I wonder if Italy Pavillion in Epcot serves Cabootzell for food and wine LOL

I don't pretend to fall, so Jill knew immediately it was the real thing.

I might be able to eat snails if they were deep-fried in a Paula Deen batter and I didn't know what they were and they tasted like chicken. ;)

I fall behind taking pictures all the time, too!
I always catch up, though. I never let them lose me!

They try, but I always find them!

I use them proudly. The fall was worth it!:thumbsup2

Jill and John have very much enjoyed the Food and Wine Festival offerings. I hope they have taken at least a few pictures of what they ate.

I might not have looked so cool when I was wearing them in the shade and under dark clouds for the rest of the trip, but they pretty much stayed on my face until nightfall for the rest of the trip.

How is Drew this evening? Any new Jill updates?

He's doing very well. He's gone out with friends, so I guess that's a sign he'll be back to his mischief and messes soon. Now that the swelling has gone down, you can see this bone sticking WAY out! It is gross looking!!! We have to go get the staples taken out of his head Monday. That will probably be kind of 'ouchy', I'm guessing. When they put stitches or staples in, you are numbed, but when they take them out, you're not, and on top of that you're very tender.

(NOT MUCH OF A) JILL UPDATE - They were eating at Boatwright's this evening and then going to Downtown Disney. Other than that, I'm not sure what was planned. I know she met up with Nicole for a few minutes at the kiddie pool this afternoon.

Memom,
We both posted at the same time about how we would eat snails. I guess great minds think alike.;)
