awwwww....so cute! yes, there is 5 years between us. actually it's more like 4 years and 8 months. i'm 32 (birthday is in july) and ray will be 37 next month. when we met i was 17 and he was 22. we were friends for awhile before we started dating (we worked together) and i knew he was too old for me then, but i couldn't help it - i was smitten! i lied to my parents and told them he was 19. i look back at that now and just cringe. it's so awful! but of course they love him now so it all worked out!

there is a 5 year age diffrence btwn me and my boyfriend. Im older. I'm 25 and he'll be 20 this november. (i tried dating someone older than me, it just didnt work out, i was working 2 jobs while he stayed home all day )

For those of you who will be watching the debate tonight, that will be coming from our fair city at Belmont University. As you can imagine, it's the headline of every news clip that comes on TV. I asked my students to watch some of the news tonight about what all was going on in the city and report back to me tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what they come back with. I don't care about them watching the debate itself, since they're only 8-9 years old, but I thought they would see a lot of interesting things about the security and the candidates shaking hands with people and all the hoopla that goes on before the debate.

so cool that it's coming from belmont. my sister graduated from there (go bruins!!!! she played soccer.) anyway, my friend melissa won a ticket to the debate tonight. she goes to belmont at night and entered a lottery for a ticket and won. so if you see a pretty girl in red with blonde curly hair, that's my friend melissa! she said they couldn't drive there - they had to be bussed in for security reasons. very neat about your class assignment. let us know what they come back with!

Our school librarian is there, too.

They've supposedly put a fence around the entire school. Roads are blocked off all around. There are booths and bands and parties going on all around. That's the kind of things I wanted the kids to see.

Have either one of the candidates stuck to their minute yet? I have been in and out of the room, but I've heard Tom say something about sticking to the one minute about four times now.

JILL UPDATE - They got to see Mickey and Minnie together in Halloween costumes. Dave, John, and the older girls went to ride Space Mountain, and Jill and Kimberly took the little ones to the dance party with the villains. Jill said she has video of Brooklynn dancing to YMCA.

Except she said Brooklynn's dance was more like an I.
She got the hint she was supposed to be doing something with her arms, so she just put them straight up.

Right now they're getting ready to see Hallowishes and then watch the Boo to You Parade. She said watching the Presidential Debate wasn't nearly as exciting as that!

Just a funny to share: Hannah said yesterday, completely out of the blue, I want Nana and Papa to take me to Disney World. I told her she would have to tell them that. Nana said that would be fun and they would look into it! (Now if I had asked...I would hear laughing on the other end of the phone, but since Hannah asked, it might happen!....anything for her grandbaby!)

i'm glad the party has turned out well! my stepbrother is in destin right now and he said they've had a lot of rain the past couple of days. not that that's anywhere near orlando, but it's still florida! so cute about brooklynn's I!!! i hope jill got some video of her singing, "it's halloween......loween!!!!"

Awesome! You will have so much fun!!! I am so jealous of anyone getting to see all the cool scarecrows and jack-o-lanterns and the special parade and such. I hope to go back next year in October.

He is feeling better. He said it hurts to cough or sneeze, but at least it doesn't hurt to breathe any more.

Jill sent me that picture of Brooklynn carrying her little purse to the bus stop. She was leading the way, of course. She's having a big old time!

Jill said it has been raining off and on the whole time they've been there. The forecast is saying 60% thunderstorms today and tomorrow, too.

I can't wait to see the video. I won't see them this weekend, but we're going to Disney on Ice next weekend in Huntsville, so I'll get to see it then, if she doesn't get to put it up on the report before then.

JILL UPDATE - There is none. I'm guessing she is asleep, since they were planning to stay until the end of the party last night. I am picturing them now all sprawled out, snoring away, Brooklynn with some kind of stuffed character with her, Halloween stuff strewn about the room, icicles coming down off the inside windows.....

JILL UPDATE - They ate breakfast with Donald this morning in Animal Kingdom. Jill said they had to wait a while, and then there was a bottleneck at the picture station. She said the character interaction was okay, but this is a meal they wouldn't think they just had to do again.

They went on the safari - I was talking to her as they were passing the elephants. Now they're hanging out in Animal Kingdom until whatever time they want to go back and swim and rest. They're probably going back to Magic Kingdom tonight.

I watched the debate last night as well... they did not stick to their one minutes alloted time at all...lol.

bummer! i was hoping it was be awesome. we are going there in december. we wanted to do a character meal and anna wanted mickey and that's the only one we could make work with our schedule. it's a late breakfast - 10:25. but that's fine because we're not early risers! i hope it's at least worth our time!

I have been reading your trip reports over the last few weeks, and I feel like I know you and your family. I have read many reports, but never posted before. You and Jill remind me of me and my mom. My mom just moved six hours from me, so I have been enjoying reading of your relationship with your daughter. My little girl, who will be 13 in January, was my mom's first grandchild. She is a blond like Brooklynn. Reading about your family with Brooklynn reminds me of when Maggie was little and the only grandchild. Now my mom has 5 granddaughters and one grandson (my second child, Conor.) Thank you for letting me go along on your trips with you. We will be going back in December. This will be the first trip that my family of four has taken alone. By the way, I was so sorry to hear about your son's accident. I pray that he continues to improve each day.

I am so glad that they had good weather for the party. I would love to go in the fall and see all the decorations.

I didn't actually watch the debate because my sister and I decided that watching "Haunted Mansion" was a lot more interesting. (The kids in the movie are named Meghan and Michael, just like my brother and I ) Anyway, my mom watched the debate on her laptop with her headphones on, and she occasionally told them that they were talking for much longer than a minute.

I also informed her that they were in TN and that I "knew" someone on the Disboards from there. She just laughed.
