A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

That's funny that you like the name Cara! That's my name! Well, I'm actually Cara Lyn, but I go by Cara. I'm loving your report so far. I can't wait to hear more.

Great updates!

Brooklynn is adorable!

Toy Story mania looks like so much fun.
I can't wait to ride. I'm even looking forward to waiting in line.

My favorite golden book was "Goodnight, Little Bear".
Little Bear's Dad looked everywhere for him, turns out he was on Dad's shoulders all along. When my kids were little I couldn't find that book for them. :sad2:

Yep...my great uncles name was Kara...but he went by KW all his life. In my great grandmothers defense she did have 9 children and only one of them was female (my great aunt sis---not her real name but what our family has always called her) so maybe she was running out of names but unfortunately for Great uncle Kara...he was one of the older to middle children.:rotfl: One of my great uncles is named after the doctor that delivered him---so I think she was struggling for names:rotfl:

As for our baby...no he does not have a name yet. We are having a hard time coming up with something that we both like and that goes with our last name. Our last name starts with an "A" so the first name can't end in a vowel and the last name ends in "er" so a first name that has "er" in the end won't work either. Plus I don't want it to be soo trendy that all the boys in his class are named the same name or a name that can also be for a female (which there are soo many of those out there now that are popular).

We're not making it complicated at all...are we?? :rotfl2: We have a feeling it will be Caleb...thats what has seemed to work the best with our last name so far that we have come up with, but who knows it could always change.

A few more pictures of the Toy Story area. I took these after we did the ride, since we went straight to get in line earlier.

I have been reading rumors on other threads that a Monsters, Inc. ride will be put in this section, too, in about 3 years. If it is true, that'll be a hit with Brooklynn. She loves her Michaelsulley. The two of them are one word.

Small outdoor shop across from the entrance to the ride.

More big toys.

Brooklynn does it with a lot of people. She calls Trent or Kristi "bubbygiggy" when she refers to them or talks to them. She also does it with John's brother Jason and his fiance "Jasonjonie" Guess that means they go together like peanut butter and jelly! She also calls me Mrs. Tucker when she can't get my attention using Mommy. She has heard my kids at school call me that a zillion times on the playground so she figures if they can get my attention with it then she should too!

We're 60 days out from our October trip!!!!!

that is so cute!!!!! MS. TUCKER!!!!!!! :lmao:

Jill, hurray for 60 days!!!

There was no TSM shop when we were there in June -- reason #5,678 for going back to WDW!

That is soo adorable. I hope you are writing these things down so you can remember them when she is 13 and rolling her eyes at you!

  60 days is CLOSE!!!!:woohoo:

You don't actually shoot a ball. There are several different games one you shoot rings around the green aliens, one you throw darts at balloons, one is like paintballs. It is a lot of fun, but be warned the arm you pull your string with will be very sore after it's over. It is much more interactive than Buzz. Buzz you can hold the button down and point this one you have to point and pull the string in and out. It gives you a practice game when you first start to get you used to it and then you're off. After your time at the game is over if you have to remain there because of a wheelchair loading or whatever, the game plays again with the bullseyes marked 000 so you can rest or practice. I really love this ride. It is my new favorite! I'm so glad I will still be able to ride it in Oct and Nov.

Thank you for the detail!! :thumbsup2 It really sounds like so much fun---and a good workout.

Why does November sound so far away for me right now? You'll be gone before we get there. It'll be very nice to stay at Wilderness Lodge.

I see that Jill explained the ride stuff.

Your little guy is cute in all his Disney ear pictures.

November DOES sound very far away, but I'm finally in the double-digits, you will be soon too, that makes it seem a bit more bearable.

I'm excited to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, DH and I were there only briefly for a dinner at Artist's Point in 2006 on our honeymoon. I barely remember it all-it was our first night, I was sleep deprived and in lala land while on my honeymoon! :goodvibes But, I've scoured the pictures on the DIS (and elsewhere), and am super excited to take it all in and enjoy our week there. I am really hoping to add a day before our trip at POP too...we'll see about all that though. Gotta run the budget numbers. :teacher:

Thank you for the compliment on my DS (Henry). We pulled out our ears one night and got some really fun pictures with them. Henry will be getting his first haircut on Mainstreet while we are there, so he will get his own first ears as well!

Did you happen to notice the Scrabble game?

It's is my favorite game. I can never get any of the kids to play with me, though.

Whoever was playing this game was a little discombobulated!

IMG_0695.jpg

The game starts on the pink block with the star. This game was never started.

You can't use contractions.
Ha! I used a contraction to tell you you couldn't use contractions! :rotfl:
Oops, I did it again.

(Refer to previous statements in which I have apologized that you know me.)

Also, you can't put an A out there by itself.
It has to be connected to another word.
MEET THE TOYS out there by itself, too!?!?

I think they need an official Disney Scrabble Engineer, and I know just the person for the job! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I am the World's Worst Scrabble Player so I didn't catch ANY of that, but wow-you'd think with Disney's attention to detail they would have realized this...guess they didn't hire the right person for the job! ;)

SO COOL!!!!!
I love the "Pixar Studios". DH and I are more into the Pixar side of Disney, so anything related to that is super exciting for us! And a Monsters Inc ride would be fantastic. :thumbsup2

That is adorable! My little nephew (2.5 years) calls his Mom "Jenny" sometimes for the same reasons. It's so funny what kids pick up on, they are so smart.

And :woohoo: about 60 days!

Aww, MeMom, thanks for lining up books to read that correspond to our days in the parks!

I love the pics from outside of TSM - the battleship game and the barrel of monkeys photo op! I can't wait!! Hope my pictures come out half as good as yours!!

Not long now!!!!!

By the way, I see lots of people tuned into this thread that are going the same time we are - I'll be the gloriously happy lady with the round Jack Skellington backpack skipping through the parks with NO children in tow walking next to the handsome looking Italian man in the Donald Duck shirt! Say hi if you see me :)

I'll keep my eyes out for you... I'll be the pooh sized blonde looking frazzled probably pulling one of the 4 kids I'll have with me out of a fountain or somewhere else that is horrifyingly embarassing :lmao:

I love the different toys...ahh...reminds me of childhood! :)

I love the picture of Jill, John, and Brookynn by the barrel of monkeys! It's a great picture! Brooklynn is so cute!
