A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

was lurking...just wanna say brooklynn is gorgeous... she looks likeshes havin a great time :cool1:

Just wanted to let you know that I am praying for your friends and for you. Also my dd's birthday is the same day as Brooklynn's, Alexia will be 3.

I am so sorry for everyone's loss of a fine Christian husband and father. Many prayers and hugs :grouphug: for your family and Lesa's too. I agree with you on appreciating each day with family. This world is not our home; we should live each day like its our last; and remember to store up treasures in heaven!

it is a new day so I will share the number 27 with you. :)

Many prayers to your friends' family during this very difficult time.

Anybody else have anything they want to share today?

I do, I do! DH and I added a day to our trip-we are now leaving on Nov 8 instead of the 9th. We are staying at POP on the 8th! :yay: I am super excited!! Looking at all your pictures, and reading your TRs, have really made me want to stay there-and now we are! Only for one night, but it's better than none! :) We are going to eat lunch in the food court - I gotta try that tye-dye cheesecake!

I'm finally caught up and really enjoying your report. Your pictures definitely make me want to stay at Pop! Now all I need to do is persuade hubby to book another trip (unlikely tho sadly).
Can't wait to read more xxx

That's funny that you like the name Cara! That's my name! Well, I'm actually Cara Lyn, but I go by Cara. I'm loving your report so far. I can't wait to hear more.

That's very close to what I was going to name Jill. It was in the top three choices.

I play scrabble online

I love Scrabble. Whenever we finally have a Dis meet, we'll have to play a game. I'd be pretty happy sitting out by the Bowling Pin pool with a bunch of Dis families swimming, eating, talking, and playing Scrabble. That would be fun!

Great updates! Brooklynn is adorable!
Toy Story mania looks like so much fun.
I can't wait to ride. I'm even looking forward to waiting in line.
My favorite golden book was "Goodnight, Little Bear".
Little Bear's Dad looked everywhere for him, turns out he was on Dad's shoulders all along. When my kids were little I couldn't find that book for them. :sad2:

I used to do this (on my back, not shoulders, 'cause I might have tipped over!) with my kids when they were little, and now I can do it with Brooklynn. I loved their little faces - so excited that they thought they were really hidden!

One of my great uncles is named after the doctor that delivered him---so I think she was struggling for names:rotfl:

As for our baby...no he does not have a name yet.

We're not making it complicated at all...are we?? :rotfl2: We have a feeling it will be Caleb...thats what has seemed to work the best with our last name so far that we have come up with, but who knows it could always change.

If I had named after doctors, my kids would have been named George and Wilborn! Jill looks nothing like a George, and Trent just wouldn't be the same as a Wilborn. :)

Being a teacher, I have seen a million names. Right now, third grade has an abundance of Taylors and Codys and Christophers.

i hope the rumor about the monsters, inc. ride is true. i love that movie!
 like raydawn! ray's nephew used to call us that when he was little and now the little boy across the street does. every time i wave at him he says, "hey, raydawn," even if ray is nowhere to be seen!

Me, too! A new ride to look forward to would be great!

Yeah, Brooklynn often says BubbyGiggy on the phone. Now that she's met Mike (Kristi's dad), she often asks, "Whea Mike?" when she is talking to BubbyGiggy. If she sees something or someone once, it is branded in her mind forever. She has an amazing memory, which I hope will serve her well in school in the years ahead.

The theming at Toy Story Mania is amazing!

It is cool, isn't it? Definitely takes you back to your childhood.

Back to the report now.

One last picture of the Toy Story area.

A big cookie jar for big cookies.

IMG_0822.jpg

Then we headed toward the Playhouse Disney and Animation Studios area. Jill wanted go into Animation Studios,

IMG_0763.jpg

but then we saw that it was almost time for character meets and a Playhouse Disney show, so we decided just to wait on that.

IMG_0762.jpg

Since we had a few minutes to kill, we did what comes naturally.

We shopped.

How can you leave Disney World without a hat?

IMG_0770.jpg

"Hmmmm...what shall I buy with the Disney Dollars MeMom gave me for Christmas and Easter and Arbor Day and The Sun Rose Today Day?"

IMG_0771.jpg

I think Disney Dollars are kind of a good gift for most special occasions.

"Oh, I know Mommy and Daddy would love to hear me playing this every night for a really long time!"

IMG_0773.jpg

Then it was time to go wait for the Little Einsteins.

Great picture of the shop across from the Toy Story Ride. I think I saw a shirt or two I might need.

I thought about buying a shirt, too, but if I bought everything I thought about buying, I'd be in big trouble!

Jill, hurray for 60 days!!!

There was no TSM shop when we were there in June -- reason #5,678 for going back to WDW!

Any reason to go back to Disney is sounding good right now. This week while I was sitting in meetings, I came up with at least a couple hundred more!

That is soo adorable. I hope you are writing these things down so you can remember them when she is 13 and rolling her eyes at you!
  60 days is CLOSE!!!!:woohoo:

I wish we had a lot of that trip on video. We will do better in the future, because I think we all regret not doing it. It would be good therapy when she's doing the eye-rolling thing in later years.

I'm excited to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, DH and I were there only briefly for a dinner at Artist's Point in 2006 on our honeymoon. I barely remember it all-it was our first night, I was sleep deprived and in lala land while on my honeymoon! :goodvibes But, I've scoured the pictures on the DIS (and elsewhere), and am super excited to take it all in and enjoy our week there. I am really hoping to add a day before our trip at POP too...we'll see about all that though. Gotta run the budget numbers. :teacher:

Henry will be getting his first haircut on Mainstreet while we are there, so he will get his own first ears as well!

:rotfl: I am the World's Worst Scrabble Player

I'd be excited to stay at Wilderness Lodge, too!
Brooklynn got her first haircut at Main Street Barber Shop, too.
If you're the worst Scrabble player then you must come to our Dis Meet. At least you'll play...unlike my kids. I have to beg them to play a game with me.

Aww, MeMom, thanks for lining up books to read that correspond to our days in the parks!
I love the pics from outside of TSM - the battleship game and the barrel of monkeys photo op! I can't wait!! Hope my pictures come out half as good as yours!!
Not long now!!!!!

By the way, I see lots of people tuned into this thread that are going the same time we are - I'll be the gloriously happy lady with the round Jack Skellington backpack skipping through the parks with NO children in tow walking next to the handsome looking Italian man in the Donald Duck shirt! Say hi if you see me :)

You're going to have so much fun!!!

I'll keep my eyes out for you... I'll be the pooh sized blonde looking frazzled probably pulling one of the 4 kids I'll have with me out of a fountain or somewhere else that is horrifyingly embarassing :lmao:

You guys need to meet up and take a picture together, especially of the dripping wet kid!

I love the different toys...ahh...reminds me of childhood! :)
I love the picture of Jill, John, and Brookynn by the barrel of monkeys! It's a great picture! Brooklynn is so cute!

It was great seeing all those games and toys we played with as kids and then with our own kids.

Just finished cathing up on your TR Memom. I have been away on vacaton and mostly lurking as it seems that is all I have time to do lately. Happy belated birthday and congrats to John, Jill and Brooklynn. I love your Poly themed bedroom and I would love to see the rest of your other themed rooms. I also love all your pictures they make me so excited to be there.

You'll se the OKW room in party pictures soon. The kitchen is a weak excuse for WL, and it needs new sink, coutertops, floors, paint... I don't think I'll reveal much of it. We'll see.

Hi MeMom and Jill! :goodvibes I looked back because I thought that I had responded to your Toy Story pictures already..turns out I did not! :confused3
they are great! I cant wait to go on it in October!! I just need to find the time in our 4 day weekend..

When is Brooklynns birthday? it soon isn`t it? princess:

Lucky you having an October trip! We're birthday partying next Saturday. Which means I have much to do this week.

every time I see the scrabble board I get that song in my head.

Scrabble has a song? :confused3

carrieannie - I have to tell you I thought the exact same thing! :rotfl: I was trying to think of a famous Scrabble song!

That is too funny but just wait and see if she calls you Jill  ....my nextdoor neighbors little girl would call her mom by her name, but it was just very funny seeing a 2-2 1/2 year old walking around saying 'Melissa' to her mama :lmao:
60 days Woooooo hoooooo

Brooklynn gives her a chance to answer by calling her Mommy the first few times.
If that doesn't work, she pushes it up a notch to Miff Tuckah!
She's trying to teach Jill a lesson.
"Answer me the first time and I won't have to resort to calling you something else!"

MOM!!!! I LOVED the Toy Story pics!!! You are soo nice to us DISkids when you go on vaca without us! Thanks soooo much for taking us along!!! :goodvibes
I LOVED the Scrabble ceiling! That would be awesome in my basement!
Jill, you gotta get Mom to play hooky from school and go in September one year!
-G

I try to be nice to all my kids!

I'm ready for a September trip right now...in August.

Subscribing - plenty to catch up on!
xxx

Glad you're joining us! 'The more the merrier' and all that jazz!

Prayers are with Lesa's family. We need to treat each day as a gift from God and do the best to tell our love ones we love them. Prayers to all teachers and students returning to school.

Have a good day today, as a new school year starts.

That is all very much appreciated.

Prayers and thoughts with Lesa's family and yours as well!

Thank you very much.

Oh Memom -- My prayers are with Lesa's family. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. After my father died, I learned to value every moment and not constantly look at what was going to happen... a big :grouphug: to you

You know just what Lesa is going through. Thanks for the thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are with Lesa and her family. I lost my Dad a little over 3 years ago (also due to a heart-related issue) so I know how tough things must be for them. It sounds like you are a good and caring friend to the family. That's definitely what they need right now.

They're good people, and they will have many friends and family members who will do their best to help them through this heartache.

the theme song of Toy Story. sung by Randy Newman.

We got it, but it just took us a while! I was just like carrieannie in thinking you were talking about a Scrabble song! :rotfl:

My prayers are with Lesa and her family. Makes you value each day you have because you never know when it will be your last.

Absolutely. Not in a morbid way, but you do have to know that every time you talk to someone, it could be the last time, so make it a good thing.

Can't wait to see the pictures. I hope Brooklynn has a great birthday.

She will. We'll probably have pictures up next Saturday night, if all goes well.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends today, I too have lost a father suddenly several years ago. I have to tell you this is my first time on the DIS boards. What fun I've had looking at all of your pics. I am home sick with the flu and somehow stumbled onto this site. I have read your TR from the begining as well as a few others. I no longer feel like a Disney weirdo. There are may of us Disney fans out there. I also take a lot of pics of random stuff while at WDW, my two kids tease me. (DS 13 and DD 8). I'm not that computer savy, I'll have to learn a lot to keep up with you all. Thank you for brightening up the last two days for me. I look forward to seeing more to come. You have an adorable family.

We're so honored to have a first-time poster! I am so glad you are enjoying the report. Don't feel like a weirdo around here, because we are all Disney-crazed! I'm sorry you got sick, but I'm glad that you found us!

MeMom,
I'll keep your friend's family in my prayers and also your family as you process this horrible loss as well. May God grant all of you peace in this difficult time. I lost my dad six years ago when my youngest was only three months old. My little guy had no grandparents in his life at all, but we keep them alive through our memories!
Take some time for you and to be with your family!
Hugs,:grouphug:
Wings/Kelly

CanadianWDWfan - Welcome and feel better!!

Thanks for the sweet thoughts. Thanks for welcoming our new reader, too!

so sorry to hear this. my thoughts and prayers are with that family and with you guys, too. it's so hard losing someone so unexpectedly like that. it doesn't make any sense but we have to trust in god and believe that there is a reason for everything. here's a hug for you, too.

I thought the same thoughts when I saw the Steven Curtis Chapman family on Larry King. They are hurting so deeply, yet trying to be so faithful and so trusting. We know there is a reason and a purpose, and it is a test of our faith, but if we remain faithful through trials, our reward will far outweigh any pain we have ever known.

I'm sending some prayers your way, MeMom. And Lesa too. :grouphug:

Thanks for your hugs.

Two weeks from today (the 22nd) we'll be headed to Florida - we'll spend time with my mom first (and leave the kids there) before going on to WDW on the 28th :yay:

Yay for you! That is worth celebrating! :cheer2:

:grouphug: I will be thinking about you guys and Lesa's family.
Have a good day MeMom

It's been a hard week, so I'll take time this weekend to refresh and get ready for those kids to storm down the hall first thing Monday morning!

was lurking...just wanna say brooklynn is gorgeous... she looks likeshes havin a great time :cool1:

Welcome aboard! Brooklynn has a great time at WDW, and she will love showing her new baby brother or sister everything she already knows, I'm sure!

Just wanted to let you know that I am praying for your friends and for you. Also my dd's birthday is the same day as Brooklynn's, Alexia will be 3.

Thank you. Next weekend will be a big party weekend then, huh?!?!? What's your party theme?

I am so sorry for everyone's loss of a fine Christian husband and father. Many prayers and hugs :grouphug: for your family and Lesa's too. I agree with you on appreciating each day with family. This world is not our home; we should live each day like its our last; and remember to store up treasures in heaven!

He was that. He was a quiet, humble man, and he will be missed. So true - our real treasures are yet to come! It'll be Disney World times a million! That will be some kind of awesome!!!

it is a new day so I will share the number 27 with you. :)

Scott, the numbers you are sharing with us seem to be getting smaller!!!!!

Many prayers to your friends' family during this very difficult time.

Can't wait to read more xxx

Keep working on him. Try all the subliminal messages you can think of! Maybe you can ask for a trip for a birthday or Christmas present!

"Hmmmm...what shall I buy with the Disney Dollars MeMom gave me for Christmas and Easter and Arbor Day and The Sun Rose Today Day?"

IMG_0771.jpg

Awwwww I wish I had a MeMom that was giving me disney dollars ;)

NO room for me to complain though.....I know I got(more than) plenty at that age from my Memaw :goodvibes

Hope you have a good Monday at school :3dglasses

"Hmmmm...what shall I buy with the Disney Dollars MeMom gave me for Christmas and Easter and Arbor Day and The Sun Rose Today Day?"

Hehe! I love the "holiday" Sun Rose Today Day! :rotfl2: So what did Brooklynn pick out? I think I saw about a dozen things I like while "shopping" in your pictures! :) I could spend a whole trip just browsing though the shops!

Well I am not having a party because we have no family here. I tried to have one last year and no one came so this year we are having a small party with just the 3 of us. We just got back from visiting family though and she had a party there with all of her cousins and the rest of the family. So she did get a party just not here at home. I will put up some baloons and some JoJo's Circus stuff that I found for 25 cents a peice on clearence.

If you're the worst Scrabble player then you must come to our Dis Meet. At least you'll play...unlike my kids. I have to beg them to play a game with me.

If I ever have the opportunity I WILL play Scrabble with you at a DIS meet! I like your idea, poolside Scrabble-laughing, playing, swiming...:cloud9:

Hooray for the extra day and for getting to try out Pop. I hope you'll like it. If you have a bite of cheesecake left, you can mail it to me! ;)

I think I'm gonna LOVE it! I'll keep that in mind about the cheesecake...:lmao:

I should probably know this, but where do you get Disney dollars?

I was wonderin' the same thing...maybe at the Disney store?

Any reason to go back to Disney is sounding good right now. This week while I was sitting in meetings, I came up with at least a couple hundred more!

Do your students arrive Monday?

I am so employing the list diversion at the next meeting (along with all the other ideas I have borrowed from you -- let me just say that seeing my pins holding up all the papers on my bulletin board always makes me smile) -- let's see how many reasons I can go back to WDW while sitting and pretending to listen this year.

I agree that any reason sounds good right now -- it was a little cooler than normal this morning and as I was leaving Walmart with the weekly groceries I found myself thinking, "This is perfect park touring weather!"

Love the shopping pictures!!!

Disney Dollars are perfect for gifts for the kids -- we tend to do that from time to time. I am trying to figure out how to have the tooth fairy bring them and not give away that whole secret.

I should probably know this, but where do you get Disney dollars?

I get them at the Disney Store about every other time I go. You can order them online, too. I'm not sure of the exacts, but I'm sure a little Googling would get you there pretty quickly.

Awwwww I wish I had a MeMom that was giving me disney dollars ;)
NO room for me to complain though.....I know I got(more than) plenty at that age from my Memaw :goodvibes
Hope you have a good Monday at school :3dglasses

I'm sure you got plenty of spoiling when you were little, and you might even still get some spoiling. I still spoil my big girl a little.

I appreciate the thoughts for Monday. The room is ready to be filled with laughter, tears, tattle-telling, nose-blowing, teeth-pulling, pencil-dropping....and a little learning. Thank heavens the first day is a half-day so that we don't have to just dive right into a full day with students who would rather still be outside playing!

Hehe! I love the "holiday" Sun Rose Today Day! :rotfl2: So what did Brooklynn pick out? I think I saw about a dozen things I like while "shopping" in your pictures! :) I could spend a whole trip just browsing though the shops!

I can make up a holiday when I'm ready to give someone a gift. Ask my kids!
I can't remember for sure, but I think Brooklynn might have gotten a little something from that store. As I was looking back through, I was wondering why we didn't get that little Pirates of the Caribbean Mickey set. It's kinda cute!

Well I am not having a party because we have no family here. I tried to have one last year and no one came so this year we are having a small party with just the 3 of us. I'm glad you got to have the family party. Share a picture with us, if you want to. We'd love to see the birthday girl! Enjoy your mini-celebration on Saturday!

Now we're ready for some Playhouse Disney fun!

We were first in line.

IMG_0775.jpg

John was miserable. It was hot, and he doesn't do well in the heat.
The room they sleep in is always as cold as he can get it.
No need for them to get a fridge.
Ice cubes will be safe sitting out overnight.
Seriously!

I felt compelled to take a picture of a palm tree, since there was one right there begging to be photographed.

IMG_0784.jpg

Here they come!

IMG_0785.jpg

Did you see that face? She was delighted!

Brooklynn and friends, Leo and Annie.

IMG_0786.jpg

IMG_0787.jpg

They have very large heads. :)

IMG_0788.jpg

Then we walked over to the other meeting spot to see JoJo and Goliath.

IMG_0789.jpg

IMG_0792.jpg

After that, we went in for the show.

IMG_0794.jpg

We were near the back, so I just stood against the back wall. I can't sit the 'crisscross applesauce' way any more.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

IMG_0795.jpg

IMG_0797.jpg

Handy Manny is always ready to help.

IMG_0801.jpg

IMG_0805.jpg

Little Einsteins.

IMG_0806.jpg

Pooh, Tigger, Little Roo, and "Dah-by".

IMG_0809.jpg

IMG_0812.jpg

It happened to be that we were there on Minnie's birthday!

IMG_0817.jpg

IMG_0818.jpg

This show is so good for the little ones. It's inside where it's cool, it's colorful, and it's an appropriate length of time.
And there are bubbles involved.

john sounds like ray. he hates the heat and keeps our house frigid. i hate the cold and i usually walk around the house wearing either a bath robe over my clothes or wrapped in a blanket, even in july. go figure!

is this what the playhouse disney show is always? just wondering. anna is trying to decide if she wants to do this with luke in december. he doesn't watch all of those shows, but if they ALWAYS have handy manny and the little einsteins, i think he'd love it. if it's always the same, i may forward this installment to her so she can see what it's like.

Criss cross applesauce...I think I say this phrase 150 times each day when I'm working with my little patients!

Brooklynn looks so happy at the Playhouse Disney show!

great update and pics.

I hope the numbers are getting smaller. I don't want to go in reverse. :lmao:
