A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

one of the few i haven't seen. actually, i think i either saw it as a kid or had the book, but i don't remember anything about it. maybe i should go rent it!

We just watched it again a few weeks ago. I'm not sure I'd ever seen all of it before that though. It's pretty cute.

Love all your pics at CP. I haven't been inside there for years. But I love taking pictures of the outside when I'm in MK. Thanks for sharing. We may have to check it out again soon. Not this trip probably, but soon.

Your pics and report are making the wait until our trip bearable, but just barely :rotfl: Thanks for sharing!

Well, I only saw it when I was little, but then when it came out on dvd I bought it just to go with my collection. But, now that Hollie has discovered it...I have watched it, and watched it, and watched it!! Of course, we have to rewind her favorite part when they are outside in the rain, over, and over, and over, and over again!!:scared1:

I love Crystal Palace, its one of my favorites.
Brooklynn is so cute with the characters.
The pictures with Tigger are great! Looks like a great time.

She is, and I think I'll get Jill some of it next time, since her middle name is Marie. I bought her a big Marie painting they had on sale at Disney Store, and she liked it.

My Daughter's middle name is Marie too. Hannah Marie. So she is starting to collect Marie items. The aristocrats was a favorite movie of her brother before she was born. :rotfl: Which is how we came up with the name.
But its also my Mom's middle name (Carol Marie).

I will be counting on my Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge pens to help me with all the dates/notes I will have to be writing down during our first faculty meeting. Did you read how I'm using my trading pins? I'm using them as tacks on the corkboard I use behind my desk. I read it on a teachers' thread, and I love the idea, so I hope it works out! I'll take a picture when I get it put up.

Sounds like you are going back around the same time I am -- our first day of pre-planning is August 1st. I am going armed with Disney pens and pins, because I am so using your ideas!!! :thumbsup2

I :lovestruc shopping pics, because then I can plan my next purchases!

Brooklyn looks like she had a blast at Crystal Palace -- the characters had a really good time with her, didn't they?

OOO!!! I love the Crystal Palace and the photos made me excited for our lunch there coming up! The Pooh characters do such a great job with the little ones and the food there really is wonderful!

Once again the shopping photos were so unique and will be challenging me to look at the stores in a new way. One more trip to Disney this summer sounds devine, but that mean old dollar always gets in the way!

Loving all of the pictures you took! I can't wait for my trip at the end of August. Brooklyn is absolutely adoreable.

I wish I was going on a trip at the end of August.
And the end of September.
And the end of October.
I do get to go at the end of November!

I think three weeks of work and then one week in Disney would be a good monthly schedule, don't you?

Those crystal palace pictures are just too cute!! I love the shopping pics too!

Crystal Palace was a great way to start the trip. You can take shopping pictures for me on your trip. As a matter of fact, I'm pleading with you to take shopping pictures for me. I will need a good faux shopping trip, and at least it will be completely safe, since I can't make any purchases for real!

one of the few i haven't seen. actually, i think i either saw it as a kid or had the book, but i don't remember anything about it. maybe i should go rent it!

Just go buy it to add to your collection. You can watch it with your future son or daughter. They just re-released it recently.

Crystal Palace is a beautiful building inside and out. It has a certain elegance to it.

You don't have much more to bear. You are almost ready to go!!!

Isn't it nice to have the little ones to give us an excuse to watch our Disney movies? Brooklynn was watching Pinocchio at my house on Sunday. When the big whale was on, she kept looking at the door and saying, "Big whale come to da door?" I assured her that the big whale was far away in the ocean. Jill and John had gone to do some birthday shopping for her. When they got back, I told Jill what she had said. She said she'd been doing that all week, saying everything was coming to the door, so she's either had a dream or seen something on TV or heard something at school or something that's got that stuck in her mind. I wish I could get into her brain and see what she is thinking.

I have been known to put in Disney movies on Saturdays when I'm doing my housecleaning, though, without a small child in sight. I'll be folding towels and watching Mary Poppins or Jungle Book when Drew and his buddies pile in. I'm sure they think I'm nuts, but that's okay. I think what I watch is so much better than all of those action/adventure or scary things they watch.

I love Crystal Palace, its one of my favorites.

I wish that one picture with Tigger was not fuzzy, because I love the expression on her face.

Brooklynn got the Lynn part of her name from my middle name.

I will be daydreaming myself away from school and into a more magical place, that's for sure!

The characters were very good at Crystal Palace. I'm impressed by the CMs who are so sweet and creative in interacting with the kids.

I was very happy with the character interaction there. I was very happy with the food, too!

Take shopping pictures for me, too, when you go.

If I have the money, I will make that weekend trip, but it doesn't look favorable for me. I just bought a new refrigerator and a new vacuum cleaner. Both were very needed. I'm hoping to be able to satisfy my Disney needs in cheaper ways from now until Thanksgiving. I really hope we can get tickets for the Disney on Ice show, because that will be a lot of fun. We did that when Brooklynn was newborn, and it was a great Disney fix and a very fun evening for all of us.

I'll share this picture with you this morning. I'm going to put it in my classroom. It will have two purposes - to remind us to take care of our planet and to give me my Disney fix every day.

Love the Earth Day picture. I am sure it will brighten your classroom, and your spirit each day with Disney pixiedust.pixiedust:

I would love that too. I am also a teacher so, I have to work around my schedule. It does make it easier to go for a short weekend since I only live a 2 1/2 hours away.

Good Morning Mom! Loved the pics of Brooklyn in Crystal Palace! Just precious!

So glad when I get to see you!

AWESOME pics MeMom! I have been lurking along for the ride and just LUVIN' it!!! Shopping pics are from Emporium, right? Also, just absolutely love the CP pics with your lil' doll!!! She's so beautiful! We never had dinner at CP, always book a CP breakfast....now you have me thinking! :confused3

Those pics are why we love CP. We went on our first trip and its now a family tradition.

Hope you don't mind if I share this one:

I love this photo! What a great message from a great little guy!

Is that inside The Land?

Great Pictures Memom -- I love the one where Brooklynn is kissing piglet ... too cute..

I had the same question as Punkin - I had my picture taking with Marie back in April, but I did not know who she was...

I have the red and black kitchen stuff, but it is very poorly made. My bowls have scratches all over them.. I also have three stainless wine stoppers, stanless steel bottle opener, martini glasses.... apron, oven mits, kitchen towels, bowls, flipper, spoons, spoon holder.... lol There is probably more. -- that is all I really have though.. I still have my dolls from when I was a kid, but have not purchased any since I was 17.
oh -- then there are the ornaments -- probably am at 50 now... hee hee.

Lucky you! I would love to be just that far away. When I lived in St. Pete, it was nothing to drive over and have some fun. Still, even at 10+ hours, I'd go down for a long weekend just about any time I could talk someone into going with me, as long as my bank account was in agreement.

Good Morning Mom! Loved the pics of Brooklyn in Crystal Palace! Just precious!

So glad when I get to see you!

You mean in pictures or in real life?

How did that big Dis meet go this weekend?

Yep - we started at Casey's and just worked our way to the front, weaving in and out of aisles and people, as everyone else was.

Those pics are why we love CP. We went on our first trip and its now a family tradition.

Hope you don't mind if I share this one:

Not only do I not mind, it's so cute I felt like posting it again!!!

Yeah, but I can't remember exactly where. I think it's on that same wall with all of the Pumbaa/Circle of Life signs.

For whatever reason, when Piglet came, she just said, "Kiss da mouf." He heard her and leaned in, and she started searching underneath all that pink for a mouth. It was pretty cute.

You guys should just go buy the movie to add to your collection. Marie has brothers, Berlioz and Toulouse. It's cute, and I remember seeing it many years ago. It's fun now to watch it with a new generation.

I almost bought the measuring cups this time. I picked them up four or five times, but I so rarely use measuring cups that I decided against it. I'm one of those cooks who works by sight and taste. There are a very few recipes that call for exactness, and I'll drag out the cups and spoons for those, but it is not very often. It'll probably be like the cat bowl - I'll look at them for three years and then give in!

I spent the morning buying myself out of my Disney depression to a small degree. I needed to go to the school supply store before all the other teachers bought all the good stuff out, so I did that. I'm not ready to think about school, but it was time to face it, at least in this aspect. I had decided I would use my Safari Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore on my outside bulletin board this year. They are so cute with their little hiking sticks and hats and backpacks. I got them at Animal Kingdom a year or two ago. Anyway, I found letters in animal prints like zebra, lion, cheetah, and such. My bulletin board will welcome the third graders (and me) with a subtle Disney touch.

For my inside board, my informational board (news and notes, calendar, etc.), I found a poster that reminds me of Finding Nemo, so I got that.

Then I found a class mailbox that is decorated with a bunch of countries' sayings and stamps, so it reminded me of Epcot. Into the bag it went, of course!

Again, I will make it subtle. I don't want to offend anyone or be too overpowering, but these things will just help me keep going without standing out to anyone else.

Then I went over to the Disney Store to look for Brooklynn something for her birthday. They were having a good sale on many items, so I got her two little shirts, some Little Mermaid dinnerware, and a Baloo bear to go with the Jungle Book II DVD I got her. They also had adult dinnerware on sale, so I got two of those huge white Mickey plates, two utensil holders, two Mickey and his barbeque grill salt and pepper sets, and two Mickey picnic placemats - one of each for Jill and me. On top off all that, I got one of those pirate loot bags that you stuff with coins and jewels for a dollar. We're going to have a Pirates and Princesses party in the future, so that'll be perfect! All of that stuff, Brooklynn's included, was about fifty dollars, so I was happy.

It was acting like it was going to storm really big, so I headed home. It has calmed down now, though. It was probably just God telling me to get home and stop spending money!!! :)

I am probably going to hit Disney Store next week.. Usually I just browse, but if they are having a sale, I will see if there is something I like. oh -- I forgot.. Joe got me a really cool Mickey salt shaker... but he did not get the matching pepper shaker.... another reason to go back....
I will have to take you up on that offer to watch that movie. It am very curious.

I think you need to submit that pic of Brooklyn kissing Piglet to allearsnet. They have a photo of the week contest on there and that picture is as good as some of the other ones that I have seen. It really is too cute!

We had my baby shower this past weekend. The only Disney item I got was from my Disney crazy aunt who got baby a pooh mini soft baseball bat and ball. We got a lot of nice gifts and also a t-shirt for the dog (from DH sister) that says "Its a boy!" I am going to have to try it on him and see if it fits...she got it in an xxs and I think he is more like an xs...wish I had that problem!! Though my mom has already bought him disney pacifiers and made him a disney hooter-hider for breast feeding (just too bad I will notbe able to use it at Disney) and I think there were other mickey items I just cannot remeber. Now all thats left is cleaning out the baby's room (formerly my junk room) and hoping that the baby furniture is done soon so we can set up the nursery. Only 10 weeks left so we need to get a move on.

I've been following your reports for a long time now and want to say hi! Not only is Brooklyn the most adorable tot I've ever seen, but she's so lucky to have you and her mom in her life. She's so loved! I get a kick out of the special names she has for everything and her infatuation with water. And it's so fun looking for the hidden MeMom in your reports. Thanks for sharing!:thumbsup2

I hope you find some good things, too. I was very pleased to get those big platters for four dollars! I might take a picture of all the things I got and put it on here.

I might have to watch The Aristocats again, too, in the next few days, since I am having one of my rare times of the year where I am flexible and don't have a full schedule.

I've never thought about doing the allears picture thing. I'll think about it. If nothing else, I might put it on a Magic Kingdom Photos thread.

Isn't it fun looking at all of your new baby things? As little space as their bodies take up, they come with a lot of stuff! There will be things all over the house that belong to him. The house will never be the same! Good luck on finishing the nursery. Feel free to take a picture and share it with us, if you'd like. I'd love to see it.

She's Disney-warped, no doubt, from her mommy and me. The other day at 'school', they were talking about the beach. The teacher showed an elaborate sandcastle and Brooklynn pointed and squealed, "Magic Kingdom!" Any form of a castle screams Cinderella Castle to us. The teachers got a kick out of it, of course, and were sure to tell Jill about her wacky daughter's comment! And, with much coaching from her Uncle Bubby (Trent), she does now most of the time say something closer to Magic Kingdom than Magic Camel now.

It's so nice to have you along. I hope you'll feel warmly welcomed among this group of such nice, down-to earth people who read along with us. We have some of the best people around here. Several of them are about to take trips and have great pre-trip reports going, so be sure to check all of them out, too. We can keep a person quite busy reading the many pre-trip and trip reports among all of us! :)

I'll put up two pictures from the end of our Crystal Palace meal, as we prepared to head toward Tomorrowland.

Brooklynn got a new monkey backpack/leash to use on this trip. This gave her some freedom from the stroller, yet allowed us to have some control over how far away she got. She can pretty much tourguide us through most of Disney World now. She has a very good sense of direction as to where we go next after we get off one ride or attraction.

IMG_0498.jpg

She used it a little, but not a whole lot. Most of the time she was in the stroller, being carried, or it was uncrowded enough that she could just walk freely.

Random picture of ducks and sea serpent on our way to Tomorrowland.
