A Ten Day Ride on A Magic Camel - Almost Finished Trip Report

Brooklynn is just so cute with her monkey backpack. :cutie: I remember back when I had to wear the "leashes" they were not as cute.

Just a little bump, you were on page 2.

I fell behind because my work schedule has been all over the place. I finally caught up again though.

The pictures from CP are super cute, especially the "kiss da mouf" one. I love toddler speak. :)

I think those monkey backpack things are a fabulous idea!

It does allow the toddler some freedom and the parent some peace of mind. We didn't use it much, but in a few situations, it was perfect.

Thanks. I remember seeing them a long time ago, and my first fleeting thought was that it was kind of strange, but then I used one of the arm to arm ones with Drew on a Disney trip, and I saw the benefits of it. Actually, Jill used it with Drew more than I did. She had one on each arm - Drew on one and our friend's daughter, Nicole, on the other. Jill's problem was that Drew wanted to forge ahead and Nicole wanted to sulk behind, so she spent a lot of time with her arms going in both directions. She said she increased her wingspan that day!

That backpack is so cute, and such a good idea!

Good to hear from you. It is almost time for you to go! I can't wait for all of the fun!!

Just a little bump, you were on page 2.

Sorry. I've been cleaning out my back room and reluctantly getting together some school stuff that I know I will need right off. I've also been dealing with the refrigerator people, because the one they brought on Monday doesn't have a good seal on the freezer. They came to look at it and decided just to bring a new one, so they'll be back tomorrow. Now I have to pull everything out again, move furniture, etc., for them to bring the new one. I think I'll have them test this one out before they bring it in the house and up the stairs.

After our nice meal at Crystal Palace (have I said that enough?), we went to Tomorrowland.

IMG_0501.jpg

Jill decided we'd get Fastpasses for Buzz Lightyear and try to get in Laugh Floor, which was easy enough, because hardly anyone was there.

IMG_0502.jpg

Even though we were the foreigners, the humans, we were warmly welcomed.

IMG_0504.jpg

If we had wanted snacks, they were available.

IMG_0505.jpg

This lovely and delightful woman/being spoke with us for a few minutes.

IMG_0507.jpg

I kid you not, she reminds me of my senior English teacher!

The tabloids are a little different in Monstropolis.

IMG_0509.jpg

I ended up being in front as we went into the theater, and of course my first thought was to pick the seats that would be least likely to be chosen for any kind of attention to be brought on them during the show. I like to watch the show, but am deathly afraid of that big spotlight coming toward me, so I like it and dislike it all at once.

We settled in, and they picked their "that guy" that they were going to pick on the whole time. They spoke with another person or two, and then here came that big light, right toward us. It was as if it were all in slow motion, and my heart began pounding as it seemed to purposely seek me out. My worst fear was about to come to light!

The light stopped, but God was merciful and let that big old light land one person to the right of me - on my daughter and granddaughter. Brooklynn was sitting in Jill's lap, so the two-headed monster - not sure of the name - said, "Oh, look! You have two heads just like me!" I looked up on the gigantic screen to see Jill smiling and Brooklynn just sitting there with a blank look on her face. They asked about what state they were from, and Jill told them Alabama. They proceeded to tell her about all the wonderful things they knew about Alabama, including the fact that it was, of course, the home of the Eiffel Tower!!! Then they sang a little song that was something like:
If you're ever in the Alabama hills,
Be sure to stop in and see Brooklynn and Jill.

Brooklynn had to stop by and see her old pal, Pleakley.

IMG_0510.jpg

Then it was time for Buzz.

This sign was somewhat descriptive of how we felt.

IMG_0515.jpg

Recall, I don't get points - just pictures. Not good ones, unfortunately.

I'm sure you can never guess who that is wearing the Excellence in Engineering shirt.

IMG_0517.jpg

I wondered if this was the alien cousin of Sebastian from Little Mermaid.

His face is so hard to get clearly. It almost always comes out solid white. I'll keep working on it.

IMG_0535.jpg

Jill loves this ride and is very competitive when riding and playing. She does it all in fun, but she does love to see how much she can score.

Here's the picture of Jill and John. It's a very 'ungood' picture. Sorry.

IMG_0536.jpg

I think the little green alien guys are just cute.

IMG_0537.jpg

We decided to go on back to Pop and turn in at a decent hour. It had been a long day, and we were scheduled to open Hollywood Studios on Sunday morning. Jill wanted to have plenty of energy to be ready to take on Toy Story Midway Mania.

Here's my going out of the park picture.

I fell behind because my work schedule has been all over the place. I finally caught up again though.

The pictures from CP are super cute, especially the "kiss da mouf" one. I love toddler speak. :)

Yeah, that darned old work stuff gets in the way of the fun stuff. My Dis time is about to take a nose-dive when school starts soon.

I hope everyone has a great weekend planned. Even if it is just doing nothing, it's better than being at work, right? I know some of you are going to be watching The Aristocats. You'll have to come back and tell us what you think. Others of you will be planning and packing and getting ready to go to Disney World in a matter of days. Lucky you! Whatever you are all doing - stay safe, and stop for a second to be thankful for all of the good and fun things and special people we are blessed to have in our lives.

I enjoyed the pictures taken at Buzz Lightyear, next time I might just look instead of trying to score points. My score is always pitiful anyway. I missed out on the eye-hand coordination gene. So shooting pictures instead of little men sounds great.

I agree with you about being call on in a crowd. I am always afraid I will be that guy(girl), at Monsters Inc., you had a close call.

I love the update MeMom. We've never done the Comedy Club. Looking forward to that. Also, we love Buzz and can't wait to do that again. Great pictures once again.

Bible School ended tonight. Whew, It was great fun, but I'm glad it's over. I'm worn out. I think I'll go :drinking1 a pop and watch a movie with the girls.

Tomorrow it's time to start getting serious about packing to go see ::MickeyMo and ::MinnieMo

Have a great evening!!!!

Cathy

Loved the pictures! Its so neat to read different trip reports because of all the different pictures people take of the same attraction:goodvibes

Great update!

We haven't been to Monsters Inc. yet.
We are looking forward to it, but I am really hoping I don't get picked!!!

Very cute picture of the little green aliens!

Great update! I enjoyed the Buzz pictures...I need to just watch sometime. You miss so much when you are trying to score points....plus I'm terrible!

Glad for your near miss on the Laugh Floor...I completely understand how you feel! I am the same way!

Looking forward to you Toy Story Mania reviews!

Yeay!!! A MeMom update for my Friday night!

We did the Comedy Floor for the first time in June and thought it was hysterical! Of course, we did opt for the back row with no lamps, so we were out of the danger zone! :goodvibes

One of Connor's favorite rides is Buzz, so it was nice seeing all those pictures and feeling like I was there.

Great update! Love the Buzz pics. I'm like Jill I like the competition when I'm in there so I've never taken pictures!

I wish we could have seen Jill and Brooklynn on the screen. That's hilarious they got picked!!

Others of you will be planning and packing and getting ready to go to Disney World in a matter of days. Lucky you! Whatever you are all doing - stay safe, and stop for a second to be thankful for all of the good and fun things and special people we are blessed to have in our lives.

I'm so glad that I've gotten to meet you, your sweet daughter and granddaughter. I always love your updates but most of all your 'closing' comments that are always SO sweet and very true!

We do have lots to be thankful for :goodvibes

sorry bout your fridge but nic eof them to bring another one.

great update and pics.

I have never done Monsters Inc.

I loved Buzz when we rode it in January.

so sweet!!!! thanks! i'm actually coming up there but just to see brett (my brother) for the night. i've been promising him i'd come to see him and i don't break my promises. so i'm leaving tomorrow morning and coming back on sunday morning. am i a good big sister or what??? wish i had time to see you guys (and erica!) but unfortunately it is a very QUICK trip so i'll be back here in no time.

That's so cool that Jill and Brooklynn got picked. I, however, would be feeling the same way that you did. I have always hated being the center of attention. :scared: I'm shy enough that when people first meet me, they think that I'm a snob or I don't like them, because I don't usually have much to say around anyone "new."

I love your Buzz pictures. :goodvibes I haven't been on there in ages! Up until this year, that was one of the two rides that my sister would go on, the other being BTMRR.

Great update MeMom!

I can't understand why you would have hidden from te big spotlight in the Laugh Floor?? :rotfl2:

Love the Buzz pics. I never stop to take pictures past the first room; I think it is that small competitive streak that I have.

Great trip report so far! We went to the Laugh Floor for the first time this past May. As we were walking in, my Fiance was picked as the one who will buy everyone Churros after the show. When the first monster came out on the screen, the camera flashed back to my Fiance and the monster yelled "Hey Everyone! There's a guy in the audience who doesn't know how to wear a hat and looks like he used to be on the Safety Patrol, and he's going to buy everyone Churros after the show!!" My Fiance had his hat on backward and was wearing my messenger-style Baggallini! :rotfl: Needless to say, he immediately took the bag off and handed it to me:lmao:

So shooting pictures instead of little men sounds great.

...you had a close call.

I'll look forward to seeing the Buzz pictures you shoot.

That 'call' was too close!

I love the update MeMom. We've never done the Comedy Club. Looking forward to that.

Cathy

You can do Comedy Club very soon! Maybe your DH will be 'that guy' and have the spotlight on him a lot!!!

I know what you mean about being worn out after being with kids. Their energy can take it out of an adult pretty quickly, especially when multiplied by ten or twenty kids.

Packing to see Mickey and Minnie - now that's a fun chore to have to do!

Loved the pictures! Its so neat to read different trip reports because of all the different pictures people take of the same attraction:goodvibes

I agree. I love to see the way everyone perceives things so differently.

Great update!

We haven't been to Monsters Inc. yet.
We are looking forward to it, but I am really hoping I don't get picked!!!

Very cute picture of the little green aliens!

I'm not sure if there are any safe places in the room. Maybe at the very back corners.

You miss so much when you are trying to score points....plus I'm terrible!

Glad for your near miss on the Laugh Floor...I completely understand how you feel! I am the same way!

Looking forward to you Toy Story Mania reviews!

I'm terrible, too! If I really tried my hardest, my score would be pitiful at best!

We did Toy Story on Day Two, but you know how slow I am. We'll get there someday next week.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures.

They should mark certain seats in there - sort of like they do splash zones!

Great update! Love the Buzz pics. I'm like Jill I like the competition when I'm in there so I've never taken pictures!

You and Jill will have to ride together sometime and compete.
I'll take the picture of the final score. :)

We're glad that we've met you, too, and Dawn. Now we need to meet about fifty other good people on this report! There needs to be a Magic Camel Dis meet in the works for the future.

sorry bout your fridge but nic eof them to bring another one.
great update and pics.
I have never done Monsters Inc.
I loved Buzz when we rode it in January.

Yep, I have a second new fridge, and it seems to be working just fine.
You need to do Monsters Inc. on your next trip. You'd be a perfect 'that guy'!!!

so cute!!!!! glad they got to be featured in the show. i bet it was super cute!!!!!

Jill did a great job of not being shy and speaking clearly and interacting with the two-headed monster. I wish I had it on film, but I didn't dare budge to touch my camera. I was sitting in total silence trying to be invisible so that they didn't swing that light my way.

So many people have told me the same thing about how they first thought I was a snob, and that is so funny to me, because that's the last thing I am! I just mostly speak when spoken to, so if you never speak to me, I'll probably never know you. Later, when people get to know me, they confess how they felt at first and then admit that they were wrong about the snobiness part.

Great update MeMom!

I can't understand why you would have hidden from te big spotlight in the Laugh Floor?? :rotfl2:

Love the Buzz pics. I never stop to take pictures past the first room; I think it is that small competitive streak that I have.

Aaahh, 'methinks' you understand quite well why I hid from the big spotlight!

I will be wanting to see the score when you and Ma ride it on your trip.

Go get 'em, Ma!

My Fiance had his hat on backward and was wearing my messenger-style Baggallini! :rotfl: Needless to say, he immediately took the bag off and handed it to me:lmao:

So how much did it cost for churros for that whole crowd? The 'that guy' in our show ended up getting up and moving after about the first three times he was spotlighted!

Here are some pictures of some of the souvenirs I got this time. Not all, but some.

This is the collage I made of Disney flower pictures I took. I really, really like this!

686-1.jpg

Those flowers, plants, and trees are just amazing! I love nature pictures.

A few pairs of fun earrings. My students love seeing all my Disney earrings, so I wear them at least once a week.

685-1.jpg

New friends.

Patriotic Eeyore, Philharmagic Mickey, Star Wars Mickey, and Pirate Mickey.

683-1.jpg

The Honorary Citizen badge Tyler gave me.

681-1.jpg

My pins. There is one from each park, then one from an attraction from each park (2 from MK), and a couple of resort pins from the places I've stayed, and a Chef Mickey's one. In November, I'll probably get resort pins from resorts I've been to.

682-1.jpg

678-1.jpg

The Maleficent pin is for my teacher friend who loves the villains. She'll love it. The Chip and Dale pin is a gift from Jill and John, because I had bought one to have on my camera strap for Fourth of July and to commemorate this trip, and it fell off. I hope some sweet little kid found it and added it to their collection and it just didn't get swept away somewhere.

679-1.jpg

I thought it was very sweet for them to buy it for me as a replacement. Jill had Brooklynn come into my room with a "pez-ent, MeMom", and my heart melted, naturally.
Have I told you yet how much I love that little girl????

I also got this poster. All the Mickey ears represent different rides and events and celebrations, and it is so cool!

673-1.jpg

Anyway, I thought you might like to see some of my goodies.
