Can you get a virus from using a diskette that has been used on another computer? Just wondering, the kids at my school have been bringing their homework in on diskettes from home and we have been correcting them on the school computers. I told the teachers this could possibly spread a virus, just wondering if I'm right or not?

YES! That's how viruses used to be spread before the Internet was widely used. When I was in college, we had to have our disks scanned before we could enter the computer lab.

Yep, that's how a friend of mine spread a virus throughout all of our computers in college... we found out when she borrowed my computer and set off my virus scan software.
