why do women, (its always women) who seem to walk briskly into the supermarket, unaided, use the cart as a walker once they get inside. i have seen MORE women of "ample" proportions drape themselves over the cart so their arms extend up along the sides of the cart and travel up and down the aisles. an observation; THIS IS NOT ATTRACTIVE!

I see that all the time. Very strange. And what is scary, is those that are obviously not good on their feet doing it. One false move of the cart and they are on the floor!

I have to do this when I grocery shop now or really shop anywhere. I never did this before but being almost 8 months pregnant - I really need that crutch....and if I don't do the shopping, it ain't getting done. ;)

I'm guessing all the ample weight the obese women are carrying must be even worse than what I am carrying right now.

I agree, they look lazy. Stand up straight, put the girls where they belong (chest proud) and keep moving.

Last thing I want to see is you hunched over the cart and your rear staring at me.

Stand and be proud.

I'm always amazed at the things that bother people. I mean, who really cares?

I so agree with you. I mean really, if the sight of my pregnant behind bent over a cart trying to get the shopping for the week done.....is cause for someone to be offended......all I have to say is, get the hell over it!!!! :)

ITA!

I don't know about others, but when I am at the store, I'm there to get in and get out - not to make observations about how others (regardless of their stature/size) are standing. :confused3

Amen!

Who notices such things anyway? I'm too busy looking for things on my shopping list to notice how someone is walking.

I saw this post and at first thought it was going to be about how people have suddenly lost their manners, blocking the aisle, using shopping cart as battering ram, being totally oblivious to others around them.

The way people stand doesnt bother me, hey its not my posture they are messing up!

Sorry that my fat butt offends you, but it is there no matter how I stand :rotfl:

My mom told me a walker is $3000. so I say, go ahead and use the shopping cart as a crutch. Whatever gets you through the shopping experience.

:thumbsup2 I'm not going to get my panties in a wad over the way someone walks.

having lost weight, i tend to forget sometimes that discrimination/humiliation of those with "ample proportions" is the only acceptable form of discrimination left, then something like this reminds me. i've been in that poor person's shoes, and although i don't recall ever "draping" myself over a shopping cart, i know all too well how your look of disdain made her feel...each time it happens, it crushes your spirit just a little more, until there's nothing left. merry christmas.

please don't misunderstand, it doesn't offend me in the least, it doesn't bother me. it was just an observation. i would also hazard a guess that if some of these women could actually seem themselves from behind, they might stand up straight. i know i would. :rotfl2:

Maybe because they can't walk any other way? Maybe because they have a medical problem (back, hips, sciatica, etc) that makes that the most comfortable way to walk. :confused3 I guess they should be more concerned with being as attractive as they can to you, than their own comfort.
