A Summer Wedding and a Disney Trip CANCELLED, HELP DECIDE WHEN WE'LL GO IN 2011

The egg hunt pics are so cute. Yes I hear we are going to have a great weekend in the northeast!! Finally!!!

I love the I Spy game with the Disney maps. My kids love Disney and love- I Spy! We will have to do that some night!

Your girls are always so stinking cute! Yikes on Easter egg hunting in 30+ degree weather. It's supposed to reach 79 here today and 81 tomorrow. Sadly, it's supposed to be 60% chance of rain on Easter Sunday.:headache:

Yes, the nice weather will start tomorrow. It finally stopped raining here, but it's damp and cloudy! Tomorrow...... 70 degrees!!!

I know, I believe this was the only year we've been bundled up like that for an Easter egg hunt! But the girls still had fun and we are looking forward to the 70 degree weather that we'll have for the rest of the week! :woohoo: It's going to feel like we're in Florida after the crappy weather we've had.

Pam looks like the girls had an awesome Easter egg hunt! I love the picture in the rocking chairs...and the map game sounds like alot fun!

I can't remember did you guys decide to fly or drive...if you are driving; what about making the ride home fun with games about the visit they just had...what was the best ride? day? character? so on so on...although you are sad to come home kids look forward to the next go round...so start planning on the ride; along with disney music it could be made magical too!

Have a great day! Pam
thanks for sharing your pics
enjoy the spring weather coming your way, we are in the low 80's already!:sunny:

Well, we haven't decided yet. Seeing how our friends are coming along and they are flying we would like to fly with them. But seeing how we were looking forward to driving, i'm probably going to base my decision on air fare prices. Right now... it's not so good, but we keep checking and we are noticing that flights are coming down. If we flew we'd be ready to book in late May, so I think we'll just have to hang out and see what happens with the prices.
And as for the ride home, I do like ( I think it was Karen's idea) the book to fill in what their favorite things were from the trip. That could keep them busy for a while. I'm even thinking of building in a little stop to someplace interesting. Not an overnight, but maybe a little few hour trip off the road to look foward to, instead of just trying to get home. I think if we had a stop built in that would make things a whole lot better.

There are definitely advantages/disadvantages to driving. Our airfares are SO expensive right now that I almost wish we could drive (my DH would NOT go for that!).

So, I got another free dining pin in the mail yesterday! I so wish I could share it with you guys. Even though I already had it, it was still exciting to get Disney Mail though. It's to be booked by 4/30, so i'm going to see what my brother wants to do about going so I can call Disney to see if I can use it for his room, seeing how, I am going? Not sure though?

Anyone else get one that needed one? I did see on the codes and rates board that people are starting to get them again.

Well, I haven't been on much, we've had gorgeous weather here and we're eating breakfast right now before we go out! I'll try to post tonight, we took my Mom's puppy for a walk on the bike path yesterday and I took some cute pictures of her.

Thank you !!!! Happy Easter to everyone. I hope everyone's day was as nice as ours. It was 75 degrees here today and the sun was shining. We had brunch this morning. Just Me, Manny and the kids, then we went to Manny's aunt's house and then hung out in the yard for a bit. AND THEN..... went to my brother's house for desserts and a HUGE Easter egg hunt! It was fun. I am exhausted and we are now watching the NY Yankees. My butt is plopped on the couch and it's not moving!!! WOOHOOOOOOO
I'll post some pictures tomorrow!

We're watching the Yankees, too. I'm glad the game is late so it didn't interfere with our Easter plans...

That's exactly what we said Amanda!!! That's so funny!

So, I came back on to post because we were just talking to Anthony (he's at home) and he said he doesn't want to go to Disney World. I'm not really sure what to make of that. I know he's getting older and he has a girlfriend now, but wow. I can't really imagine taking a vacation without him. If it were one of my girls, I know I wouldn't even want to go. With him not going, of course we would still go, but, that makes me really sad. Manny said, it's ok, he's getting older, he just wants to be with his friends, it will be fine. But, that's just Manny, he doesn't admit his real feelings. I'm sure he's even more hurt than I am.

Ok, well, Manny told him he has the week to decide. So, i'll let you know what happens.

Oh Pam, that's rough. That's good that Manny gave him a week to decide-- if he decides not to, I'm sure he'll regret it when he sees the pictures and hears you guys reminiscing. Even though it'll be rough, even if he decides not to go, don't let it put a damper on your plans. Just focus on the girls and you will all still have a wonderful time. Of course, I hope he comes to his senses and decides to go!!

That really stinks that Anthony doesn't want to go. I know he's getting older and to that age where friends are more important than family....but they grow up too fast. :sad2: I hope he changes his mind and decides to join you.

Good to hear that you had a nice Easter! I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures.

I soooo wish I would get a pin code from Disney. In all of my 14 trips there, I've never received one. I've been reading the codes & rates boards and see a lot of speculation that another Summer promotion is about to be put out for the general public. Even though I'm already booked with a % off, I'm always on the lookout for a better deal.

I remember the first time Lacey decided she didn't want to go to Disney with us. I almost passed out. We called her from Disney World at least twice a day. I could tell that she was a little sad that she skipped out on the trip. Hopefully, Anthony will change his mind and want to go with you guys.

Oh, i'm thinking that if he says he's not going that he'll change his mind while we're packing up and getting ready to go. That will make us feel even worse when we'll have to tell him no.

I know when I was that age friends and boyfriends and girlfriends are number one priorities, but that never made me want to skip out on family vacations. I was always happy to do the family vacation thing until I was 18. I still go on vacations with my Mom :goodvibes I hope my girls will always feel that way also.

Never got a pincode? That's terrible. Come on Disney!!!!!! And, I know Manny will torture him while we're there if he stays home too. He'll be calling, texting, sending pictures just to bust his chops. And i'm sure he'll wish he was in sunny florida!

Ok, so to get over being sad about Anthony not wanting to go........... I ......... priced out other resorts for the 5 of us!!! Woo Hoo!!! I just texted Nicole to see how she would feel about switching to a moderate. Of course that sounded great, so she told me to text her a price (She's at work right now) We would love to try Port Orleans Riverside!!!! So, I priced that out for her and i'm waiting to hear back about what she thinks!

It only makes sense for me to switch if Anthony doesn't come. I am paying $220 per night at the ASMu for the suite, A moderate resort is cheaper than that for crying out loud. And I have a wedding to pay for that i've been putting to the back of my mind. Disney is up front ;) I don't want to make Nicole switch if she'd rather stay at ASMu though, so we'll see. I know we don't have to stay at the same resort but it would be better.

Switching to POR and just having the 5 of us, cuts $800 off the trip. And another $250 if I don't decide to pay for water view.

Of course, i'd rather just have Anthony with us! And everything would stay where it is, as planned!

I know you'd love for Anthony to come along but I know it'd be nice to be able to upgrade to a moderate resort too. If it were my luck, my son would wait to the last minute to decide he wanted to go and I would have already changed resorts. Hopefully, he'll make up his mind soon so you can know what to do.

That's what i'm afraid of. Changing his mind shortly before we go. But, Manny told him, his decision is final, that's why he's giving him til this weekend. If by this weekend it's still a no, we'll probably be switching. I don't want to wait too long, or nothing will be available there. AND, Nicole does have room for 1 more in her room, so if anything happened last minute, we do still have room for one more.
