A stranger knocks on your door , asks to use your toilet, what do you say?

I would not be answering the door.

I can see it happening though. We were driving to a wedding about 5 years ago. I needed to use the restroom. We had no clue how much further the venue was after we got off the turnpike. We drove by a small shopping center. Everything there was closed except I noticed a lady in one of the stores standing around.

I was all dressed up of course - not that it should make a difference. My DH stayed in the car parked in front of the business. I knocked and said I needed to use the restroom if it was possible and had no clue how much further we had to drive. She let me in. It was much appreciated. But up do today, I am still surprised she opened the door.

I probably would not answer, either. The good thing for this stranger is that I live on a quiet little side street, but If you walk a block over, you are on a main road with fast food chains and shopping centers.

Nope. There are woods right next to me, lol.
Several years ago, the power went out at work. I work alone. After awhile I pulled my desk chair over to the door, got my book out and started reading. There are 2 other businesses in that building but they hadn't opened yet. A nice looking, well dressed young man saw me, knocked on the door & I unlocked it, cracked it open a smidgen to see what he wanted. He wanted to use the bathroom....I said no. Bout that time one of the guys from the tattoo shop on the end pulled up, got out of his truck & stood there watching. So the guy ran off. Tattoo guy came over & asked if I was ok. I told him yeah, ain't nobody coming up in here with me in the dark, lol.

short answer-no. longer answer-no, you had to pass multiple porta-potties on properties being built to even get to my house use one of them.

p.s.-several years ago there were public service announcements warning people in the rural areas around us not to let random strangers into their homes on the premise of using the bathrooms b/c it was a scam targeting older residents who were likely to have pain pills in the medicine cabinets.

I wouldn't open the door, but DW probably would. The stranger would be directed to a cluster of convenience stores and fast food places about a 2 minute drive from our house. If they are on foot, there's a wooded area along the way.

Absolutely not. I also wouldn't have answered the door either. I doubt anyone would knock on my door as I have two dogs that bark like maniacs when someone is at the front door.

This happened to my friend who was home with her son-in-law while a group of 5 K runners were going by her house.
A young man dressed in his running gear knocked urgently and said he needed an emergency bathroom break.
They let him in and the son--in-law stood with his phone in hand outside the bathroom door, ready to call 911 if needed.
Of course, they heard all the "emergency" sounds while they waited for him to exit and it was all sorts of awkward for both parties!

I wouldn't have opened the door. I hate that we have to be suspicious of others, but better to be safe than sorry.
Seriously. Do people not watch true crime shows? To add to the normal suspicions, I also live about 30 min. from Baltimore. It's a high crime area. My mom lives on the lake near Seattle and their nearest neighbors are about 1/4 mile away. She was so surprised that we locked our car doors and even the house doors during the day. They never lock their doors. I told her, 'This is Baltimore. We lock our doors." :(
