hehe, ok, some of you know about Chris, some of you don't. I've mentioned him a lot and hinted but now I'm going to tell you the whole story so you'll be less confused.
(he posts here as MetalmasterC) Yes, we are offically boyfriend and girlfriend now...hehe...and how it ended up that way is quite an interesting story!
We met online 3 years ago, with our common connection being Beauty and the Beast. He read my Beauty and the Beast fanfiction, The Ghost of Gaston, which has been available online for several years, and liked it so much, he decided to email me. I actually wrote it when I was about 14. (webpage plug- there's a link to it on my site- http://www.angelfire.com/musicals/bdwaybelle/ ) He developed a crush on me almost immediately- sending a rather mushy email within a month or so after we started chatting on instant message. He kept putting me on a pedestol and almost scared me off!
Anyway, I had a WDW trip with my penpal planned for just a few months after Chris and I first met so we decided to take advantage of it and meet in person since he worked there (at the time in costuming at Fort Wilderness.) We talked on the phone and hit it off right away. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out that way in person. With both of us very shy by nature, spending the day together along with my penpal was very awkward. In fact, I felt so awkward that I came across unintentionally as rather rude and standoffish! And Chris kept cracking nervous jokes. Thankfully, even after that disaster, we continued to chat online.
By the time of the college program, we'd gotten to be pretty good friends. Chris realized that if he didn't want to lose my friendship, he needed to back off from the mushy, putting me on a pedestol talk. During the program, we only got to hang out together a handful of times due to conflicting schedules, but we talked on the phone often. Since I was quite lonely in Florida, having him to talk to was a lifesaver. We went to a DIS meet together, and those there probably thought we were dating even though we weren't at the time. hehe.
After the program, he and his family moved to a different house because they couldn't afford to stay where they were. Chris had to go without internet access for a whole month. When he finally came back, my enthusiastic reaction took him by surprise. I had really missed him! Slowly, over that summer, his talk leaned toward romance again. By the fall semester, he had won me over. We've now been "dating" so to speak for over a year despite the long distance.
You all have to know what a sweetie this guy is! He visited me over springbreak when, to our terrible luck, I had to have surgery. (and when I visited him last summer, I got sick!) I was very disappointed that we wouldn't get to do most of the things we had planned- touring Memphis and such. Know what he said to me? He repeatedly emphasized that his vacation was *not* ruined and that he didn't care about seeing Graceland or the Civil Rights Museum, etc. All he wanted to see was me.
*swoon*
And to think....in just over a month, we don't have to be long distance anymore!
