A Sister & Brother Return! AKL Bound! 8/1 Update pg. 46! AND WE'RE OFF!!

What a great gift!

Thanks :)

More power to you for saving! We did the same thing with credit for disney trips, at first. Now If we can't save the $ I don't wanna do it. Living in the now because we have to pay off the back then still!

As I said before you are an awesome daughter. You are also a kick butt person and I'm really glad we got to know you! I'm sure we will see you again!

Yeah its the only way to do it now, although I wish i still had a Disney Visa because putting it on there and paying it in cash was an awesome way to get those disney dollars!

Oh Nicole, I love your honesty and candor. Your parents and brother are blessed to have you.

Thanks to everyone for the warm responses! I don't have time now (I'm at work) But I just realized I need to take down all the Anniversary gift posts until after the 30th! My mom knows of the DIS, and I forgot all about the fact that she might stumble across this thread! It's highly unlikely, but i'd rather be safe than sorry! I finally got my camera back from repair so I took a few photos of the pins I ordered from eBay! I'll share with you guys later!

I know we have to be reasonable and all, but my philiosophy on money is that I'd rather spend it on things that create great memories for my kids than on unnecessary things at the house or just saving it all.

My dad died from cancer when he had just turned 50, and he worked right up until the day he went in the hospital, never to return home. He never got to see retirement, to have time just to relax, and to enjoy all that he had worked for. That event, along with Trent's near death experience just before his graduation, made me have somewhat of a new perspective on taking advantage of opportunities to create memories.

I'd rather spend it on the kids while I can see them enjoying it rather than them just have money after I'm gone. I'd rather Brooklynn remember fun times with MeMom rather than the fact that MeMom had new carpet or whatever. That may not be popular with many, but it is the way I see it. I have a retirement plan through school, and I'm pretty low maintenance. I'll spend wisely, other than my Disney stuff, which isn't always so wise, and save wisely, and hopefully it will all come out well.

I don't get into credit card debt, and I'm glad to hear you're being wise about that now. It's nice that you have a good job at a young age.

Sorry to hear that you won't be coming up on the 28th, but the offer still stands, as we do have three extra seats as of now. I'll be happy to treat you guys to supper. If it works out in the weeks ahead, let me know.

Well said, MeMom and I appreciate the empty seats, I may make it up there after all, I'll let you know. Just the other day I was telling my mom how I feel my money is better spent on memories rather than objects themselves, they seem to last longer!

Same here, MeMom!

So like I mentioned a few weeks ago, I ordered a lot of pins (actually 2 auctions!) from eBay so David and I could trade with CMs in disney! It was definitely money well spent! I think it cost me about $15 for the lot of 10 pins and they were all official trading pins. the other auction I won had a mixure of real ones and fake ones. I don't know what David did with his so I can't get a picture (I'll ask him later) but after splitting them evenly here are the ones that are mine! Some of them I may not even want to trade!! Ordering them from eBay was really cool because it was fun to open up the package and see which ones you got!

Love all your pins esp.the Cinderella and Incredible Family! :goodvibes I think those are definitely keepers!

Cool pins!! I've been considering getting some, but can't make up my mind. I keep thinking what am I going to do with them when I come home from the trip. Probably about the same thing I did with the smashed pennies from the last trip. They're just sitting in a drawer! :rotfl:

I hope you have tons of fun trading!!!

Ooh, hidden Mickey pins!

I like the cinderella, but i'm not too sure about the incredibles...its part of that mystery train set, I just end up trading those away usually! lol

I have my lanyard hanging up on my wall and everytime i look at it, it reminds me being in Disney!! Plus I wear it everytime I go, its just plain fun!

Those are the best, aren't they??! :cool1:

Thanks. Sorry to gush. I just feel like going to Disney World and/or creating memories for my family far outweigh any material thing I care about.

Nicole - I'm going to be wading into the pin craze this trip. I do mean wading, too. I've been toying with picking up a few, but couldn't think of a good reason to have them around. I'm not interested in trading, at this point. I know I want to start with ride pins, and if they have them, I'd like resort pins. Somewhere on a teacher thread I finally came across a way I could display them and they could be useful, so now I am in. One teacher said she uses them like thumbtacks on display boards. I have one corkboard behind my desk that just has my teacher info - bus duty schedule, teacher room numbers, etc., so that will be the perfect place for me to start. I'm excited about really being able to do more than look and take pictures of pins this trip.

Excited, but cautious. I'm sure it will be addictive! :)

What a great idea for the pins, MeMom!! They do sell resort pins, but what makes it special is they only sell them at the resorts themselves! David and I like collecting for the hotels we've stayed at! It's a lot of fun to have them, they are so nice and there are so many!

I LOVE all your pins!! I have that Splash Mountain one. :) I actually just ordered a bunch of cast member pins on ebay...can't wait for them to come!!

To MeMom, they do have resort pins! I'm actually starting to collect pins of the resorts I've stayed at. Pin trading/collecting is addicting!

I love the cast member exclusives a lot of them are so cool like the one I got when I recieved a magical moment from the CM at World of Disney!

Just subbing to your pre-TR. So far, it sounds great. Looks like you DID change your ADRs after all. You'll have to post on the ADR thread so I can update your ADRs :)

Cant wait until the 6th! We're gonna have a lot of fun that morning :yay:

Then I'll get started on that this trip. Oh, happy day! Something else to shop for! :woohoo:

Yay! Our lights are both green for the same time in a while.

I'm glad you're meeting some more Disers, but if David's feeling funny about it, two tables might make him happier. I really am sorry that I don't get to meet him. I wanted you to bring him along on the 28th, if you got to come. He surely couldn't be scared of us! It will probably be better if I meet him after your trip, anyway, because I would surely blow the secrets. I'd be all excited  and want to talk about it, and I'd ruin it all, and then you wouldn't like MeMom any more! :furious:

It's only 17 days, 11 hours, and some minutes for us! I've got the suitcase out in the back room, and I am starting to toss stuff in it little by little.
