A Safari Christmas Goes Pop! (w/pics)

love the report...getting excited about our trip - we go the beginning of Dec...hopefully...

Need to go back and re-read it all..not just the highlights...

Hey, I meant to ask. Since you've been there for the holidays, how was the weather? Did you mostly layer tanks and hoodies and use jeans or were some days warm for tees and shorts? I'm about to put the summer clothes in the attic and I was wondering if I should pack some in suitcases instead...:confused3

Thank you! :goodvibes WELCOME :goodvibes

I hope you find some helpful information. I will have to get over to your PTR and see what you mean by you're hopefully going in December. I hope you get to go. It's amazing during that time of the year.

Hey, I meant to ask. Since you've been there for the holidays, how was the weather? Did you mostly layer tanks and hoodies and use jeans or were some days warm for tees and shorts? Well. . .last year, we had amazing weather! It was cool in the mornings and evening. During the early mornings and evenings we would wear warmer items. We did do layers, because it typically warmed up as the morning progressed. Then, we'd be in shorts and t-shirts. You should be ready for cooler climates and warmer. We spoke to a lot of residents, on our last trip, and they all said that December is a free for all with the temperatures. You can never tell.

In fact, for much of our trip it was so warm that it was like summer! But, we were told that it normally doesn't get as warm as we had it last year. Then, the day after we left, it dropped into the 30s and flurried!

Be ready for anything. We plan to bring flip-flops, t-shirts and shorts, but we'll also have sweatshirts, jeans, jackets, and gloves. It's the only way to do it that time of year. Of course, as the trip gets closer, keep on eye on weather.com.

I hope I didn't confuse you more.

:santa: So, yesterday I began going Christmas happy. :santa: I was at the grocery store and saw Christmas Disney window clings, the 3-D gel looking type. I knew that I just had to get some for the hotel window. I got four of them. :woohoo: Then, I went to another store to get a Christmas tree. Let me explain that one.

We have a HUGE Christmas tree, from when we first got married, but living in an apartment and having a HUGE tree doesn't exactly mesh well. Last year, we didn't even put up a tree, since we weren't going to be home for the holidays. Then, we regretted it, because at home it didn't feel like Christmas. :guilty:

Fast forward to present day. :dance3: Dizzy yet? :dance3: We decided to get a smaller tree for this year. Problem solved! :yay:

We normally decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, only we're going to be gone for nearly two weeks for the holiday season, so we decided why not decorate two weeks early? Makes sense, right? Thought so. :thumbsup2

So, last night, I went into a store to buy the smaller Christmas tree, and while I was there, I saw sheets of Disney Christmas window clings (the normal kind) and just had to get them! I got four sheets of those. I mean, have you seen the hotel windows at POP? They're huge! So, now we'll have our windows decorated, while we celebrate the holidays at Disney!!! :cool1:

Now, going back to the tree. . .I just couldn't leave it in the box last night, and I decided to put it up and decorate it. It looks amazing! :santa: Then, my DH is away this weekend, and I really end up doing most of the decorating, since I'm so particular about where everything should go.

So, all weekend, I'm going to deck the halls, all over our place! My DH can't wait to see how it will all look when he gets back and no, I'm not being sarcastic. He's really excited. He loves it when I decorate for the holidays, especially if all he has to do is move boxes for me and then enjoy my handiwork.

I have a Christmas village to assemble, nutcrackers to situate, and all sorts of other holiday doo-dads, to place in just the right places.

Oh, and how could I forget? After seeing how great the new tree looks, my DH asked me how many pieces it came in. When I told him, he suggested that we get another one for our hotel room and bring in a suitcase!!! Yippee!!! It already comes pre-lit. We'll bring some of our unbreakable ornaments, and of course, we'll buy some there. :yay: :woohoo: :yay:

Did I tell you we're going to WDW for the holidays?!?! Yes, the holidays and WDW put me in this stranger sugar-like hyper mode. :dance3:

So, once I am all done with my holiday decking of the halls, the living room, the dining room. . .you get the picture, I promise that I'll take tons of pics and post them, and I'll include pics of the window clings, too! :thumbsup2

:santa: Only one month and 8 days to go!!! :santa:

Ohhh sounds fun! I don't have my own place yet but I figure one of these days I'll move out so the last couple years I've gone a little crazy over Christmas decorations. I mean, I have all my ornaments (my mom buys me and my sisters one each year :goodvibes ) but I'd like to have more decorations! OK I really don't have that much but so far this year I got a cute little snowbabies figurine, a small piece for my North Pole village, and these Rudolph and Clarice stuffed animals (I loooooove Rudolph!). I can't wait to see the pictures of your decorations!

It's good that you'll have ornaments to begin your own decorating, once you live on your own! I love Rudolph and Clarice, too. I'll be sure to post a couple of pics of my figurines of them.

Enjoy decking the halls. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Pictures will be posted later tonight. This decking the halls business is hard work! :rotfl:

So, I've been decking the halls all day, and now I'm done! Before I show you the decorating, here are the window clings we'll be bringing with us, on our trip. Here they are:

What do you think? I can't wait to go and decorate our hotel window!!! My DH said that people are going to assume we have kids. Instead, there will just be two big kids celebrating their anniversary and the holidays!

Okay. . .here is the Christmas tree. This one has white lights on it. The one we're bringing with us, on the trip, has colored lights. We'll also bring some tinsel with us and a few decorations.

This is the entire tree. Please disregard all the Christmas decorating boxes all over the place. Since my DH was going away this weekend, he wanted to make sure he pulled everything out for me.

Here's the bottom of our tree. We seem to put Disney everywhere!

Now for our stocking holders (Disney, of course!) and various other Christmas decorations:

Our village is a combination of city and Santa's village, only the Santa's village is not within sight of those who are in the city village. We couldn't have that!

:confused3 How did you know some of it came from Walgreens? :confused3 The window clings that are in sheets came from there. If you have a Stop and Shop grocery store, that's where the gel window clings came from. There were other types at both stores, too. I know that in both places, anything with Mickey and Minnie was already running low! There was also only one Tinkerbell set of window clings left. It's not even Christmas, yet! But, heh, you figure I am already done decorating! :rotfl:

What's funny is I still have my fall wreath on my front door, because we thought it might seem weird to put the Christmas wreath out just yet. We'll do that after Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I love nutcrackers, too! :yay: We both do. We're actually hoping to get a Mickey Mouse one this year. We thought about it last year, and didn't do it. So, this year, we might just get it. They actually have one of them on the mantle, in the last scene of "Carousel of Progress"! :woohoo:

Oh, you haven't even seen the half of all our Disney stuff! It's very obvious that we love Disney.

Let me know if you find the window clings at Walgreens. :goodvibes

:lmao: :rotfl: the price tag gave them away (2/$3). I :lovestruc walgreens. We have two within minutes of our house. I too would like a mickey nutcracker, but I am running out of room to put things. LOL

Great pictures! The window clings will look great in your window!

cute window clings, I found mine the other day at the Dollar Tree!! I got princesses, tink, and mickey & gang!!

Oh! I didn't realize that price tag was only at Walgreens. :rotfl2:

I didn't say we necessarily had room for another nutcracker! :lmao:

Thanks! I figure that the window is so big, that I should just have enough. :thumbsup2

The same ones? :cool1:

Wow! :santa: You've got me in a Christmas-y mood this morning!! :santa:

:santa: I'm glad I could spread some Christmas cheer!!! :santa:

It's so cool to have it all up already. It is making us even more anxious to go on the trip!!! :woohoo:

The DD and I picked up the same window clings at Walgreens yesterday!!:lmao: [But we didn't go into the Stop n Shop - which is right across the street!]

I also noticed some familiar "non-Disney" ornaments on the tree ... :santa:

Now - when my DW tells me "It looks like Santa Claus threw up in here!" ... I can send her to your PTR pictures!! :rotfl:

I'm still raking leaves - 3 1/2 hours today - and still more to go!! :headache: Once that's done, maybe I'll be more in the Christmas spirit ...

I think mine are a little different, I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance on my PTR

Can't wait to see them! :goodvibes

Well go back to Stop and Shop! I liked the 3-D version of window clings they had there.

Aw! You noticed that we had some non-Disney ornaments? I was hoping nobody would pick up on that!

Only 3 1/2 hours raking leaves before you had a headache? Are you in the Christmas spirit yet, or do you still have more raking to do?
