Gary Gygax was a co creator of Dungeons and Dragons with Dave Arneson back in the 70s. He's been a major influence on the gaming circle for both good and bad ever since. One thing for sure he was great at marketing and was probably the person most responsible for making role playing games semi main stream.

Oh dear! I'm sure he's a level 10 lawful-good wizard with unlimited hit-points in heaven now. I always smile when I see these (I played pretty competitively in junior high):

Nah I'm pretty sure he's straight up neutral. He might lean a bit to the good side but sometimes the man was pretty greedy.

I am definitely sad. The passing of an era.

Sadly, he failed his final saving throw.

My DH told me about this, they will have a moment of silence at their next D&D session. I guess he was still hosting weekly gaming sessions as recent as January. Now, I am not into D&D at all, but how awesome would it be to play with him?! Turns out he lived not too far (about 2-3 hours) from us. DH and DS13 drive an hour now to play, so what would a couple more have been.
