A rough start, but I'm not giving up . . .

I'm here at the CR, and tried to get my MVMCP ticket at the lobby concierge. They tried, then said their printer wasn't working. They told me "it's showing issued in the computer, but just go to guest relations at the park and they'll issue it". Has anyone else ever had this happen and did you have a problem at the park?

I also was assigned a room that already had someone in it. I don't know if I wrote the room number down wrong (the room wasn't ready when I got here) or if they gave it to me wrong. Fortunately, the ladies staying in that room allowed me to use their phone to contact the front desk to straighten it out (thank you kind ladies!:thumbsup2 ).

So I'm trying to unpack and put the hassles behind me, and have a good time at the party tonight.

1) This is a frequent occurrence at WDW.
2) It sure seems to tick-off the guests involved.
3) After numerous complaints, WDW elected not to do anything about it.
4) This is per the Guest Services Mgr and General Mgr at SSR.

NOTE: Nothing like having two very large families waiting out in the hall at 2:00am because their room is occupied and CM's are trying to find other rooms to put the guests into. Also pretty embarrassing for the CM to walk in on a couple, because the room was supposed to be empty.

I hope your trip goes fantastic. We too have had a bad start, but it's getting better. The most important part is that i'm with my family and DD3 and nephew 3 are having a great time.

I think i had a focker sighting?!

so sorry - hope everything is now better!

you can definitely get your tickets at guest services/relations in front of the park.

I just got back to the room from the party. It was a sellout. I didn't have any problem watching the first parade or some of the shows, but I really noticed the crowd build after the Holiday Wishes. I had seen what I wanted to see, so I thought I'd update what happened with the tickets.

I guess CR wasn't the only resort having problems. The people at the window next to me had the same trouble at one of the All Star Resorts. When she looked in the system, it had issued four different ticket numbers to me (even though I only bought one ticket) and she had to deactivate all of them individually before she could issue my ticket. But it wasn't too much of a hassle. I think next time I would just go to the park in the first place, but when I saw there was no line at lobby concierge, I thought it was my lucky day (not!).

Actually, it's not too bad. I still feel bad about the whole room fiasco. I know there's no way I mis-heard xx24 and wrote down xx01, so there was some major breakdown in the communication. Those ladies were so nice about it though (and I kept alternatively thanking them and apologizing profusely). I hope they have a great trip!

There are still construction walls in the lobby, but no noticeable construction outside them. The lobby is looking pretty good. They had plenty of people on front desk duty for once, so check in didn't take forever. The grab and go quick service location isn't bad either. I stopped in there for lunch while waiting for my room. The main thing missing are the fried foods (burgers, etc.).

I love the new gift shop in the concourse. I didn't think I would like it, because I really liked having the open space. But it's not nearly as claustrophobic in person as it looks in the photos. To be honest, it seems like they have a wider variety of merchandise than they did in the old Fantasia store, but maybe they just have more I like! There are a row of benches just outside the far end, facing the big window, so it's still got a nice place to rest and watch the World go by. It does seem odd to go in the sundries shop and have it be closed off instead of opening into other shops.

If anyone has any questions, send me a message. Otherwise, it's off to dreamland for me (with a lovely view of the tower and pool out my window :thumbsup2 ).

It's good to see everything worked out for you with you're MVMCP tickets and that everything else with you're room was worked out.

I was just wondering are you in a Tower room and if you are is it a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake view? Or are you in a Garden Wing room?

BTW if you're missing the burgers they use to sell at the Food & Fun Center, you should try the Sand Bar which is located just by the pool.

I'm in a garden wing room that looks back over the pool area toward the tower. Since I'm pretty far out, I may be able to see the fireworks from the room. I'll find out Friday, as that will be an early night (I have to check out early Saturday and go back to work :scared: ). I'm on a corner, so I can see the water pageant from here too. It's a great view for a garden view room. It probably has one of the longer walks to get to the tower because of the location, but it only takes a couple minutes.

Mustve been the MVMCP for the 11th eh? Nothing like walking in and seeing the big 'tonights party sold out'. The park was much more crowded for the party then it was all day it seemed. One thing though, I dont remember seeing any non banded folks, so they may be checking that much better.

Thanks for updating us on the CR. We are arriving this Sunday, and was wonding how far the walk is from the wing to the lobby and than to the MK. Is it double the walk from the Wing to the MK than from the Tower to the MK? Hope that makes sense.
Thanks!
Jill

There were several CM's walking up and down Main St. before the parade making everyone along the street show their wristbands. They did this multiple times. However, I did see a lot of no wristband folks following the last float out. It could be that they were "caught" after the parade started and just herded after the parade. I don't know.

I wouldn't say it's double the walk if you're at the farthest part of the wing. Maybe if you took the distance from the farthest wing room to MK gates, and divided by three, you would be one third closer. If you're near the front of the wing, it's not much farther at all. When I factor in the elevators at the tower (which seem to take forever when I need one) I feel like I get back to the room in about the same amount of time - it just feels like productive time instead of waiting time.

Thanks for getting back to me. I was nervous about the Wing rooms, it was all they had available for our discout code when we booked. My Dh just had surgery on his knee and walking is doing to be a challenge, so we are happy to hear it's not as much more as we were thinking!
Have a great vacation!
